I've read at another site (And in the middle of testing the information's worth) that if you get an error 16 it can still be fixed, by unplugging the DVD-Rom, forcing the Xbox to boot up to error 11. The site claims that at error 11 (And I'd assume errors 10 and 12 would count as well) defaults back to unlocking your harddrive, making the hotswap method permissible for anyone with the dreaded clock issue.
Can anyone here say whether this information is correct, or just another false ray of hope? And in the event that it is the 'golden secret' to fixing error 16, is there anyway to update the original post?

hi there i have a friend's xbox it's been softmodded and now when you turn the power on it's trying to connect to xbox live for updates no matter what buttons are pressed or disc i put in the drive it won't boot??
can anyony give me some help please???????

well I didn't win the lottery but I did get the red/orange flashing light on my xbox. I took the board out and I can see where a small trace was removed from the board. The only question I have about this is what type of wiring should I use and if there is any particular method to fixing this trace issue. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

I have an xbox it is kind of old. It has not been moded or altered in any way. I get the christmas lights...it says error 13 and 21 on the screen. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how to fix it or at least save my hard drive data. I have an old extra hard drive laying around if i need it. I dont have a big budget but any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have evo x on my xbox well it has a chip and well i wana run linux on my xbox but it wont let me go to my ms dash and gives me a error 21 code how do i fix this?

error 21 can also mean that if you have a modded xbox that you booted ur box of a game then clicked xbox live that restarts the xbox giving you error 21 all you have to do is reboot

what i did was just pressed the power button and turned it off then on unless you've already tried that i dont know because im running avalaunch w/o a mod chip so i have a backup cd of it to fix stuff on it like restore the C drive but im not sure for evox

hey i hav an old xbox that i accidentally broke last summer
i had origionally installed evox dashboard with action replay and MechAssult
I accidentally hit restore xbox thinking it would get rid of the soft mods. I was wrong, it completely gutted the Hd (i think)
After trying to anything to fix it i ran out of luck
as a last resort i have been trying to hotswap using XBOXHDM 1.9
it says to unplug the dvd drive to get error code 11 so the HD will be unlocked
when i turn my xbox on with everything plugged in the right spots i get the service screen, but no error code and when i unplug the dvd drive i still dont get an error code
does anyone know what i am doing wrong or what i need to do to get erro code 11

ok i have a stock xbox and i tried to add a usb port to it i followed all the instructions on how to do it my xbox is not modded or anything only thing close to being modded is that i had to open up the xbox to do it but now after i finished installing the usb port i connected everything back together when i tried to turn it on it would blink green then turn off blink green again then off again the blink green 1 more time and then turn orange and stays flashing orange but the disk drive does still open and close but the only way to turn it off is to remove the power plug can you please help me so i dont have to go out nd by a new xbox i have all my saves on this 1 thanks
p.s. i didnt solder

ok i tried to do the same exact thing adding usb ports w/o soldering it didnt work but my xbox still worked didnt do the thing your talking about all i can say is to go in ur box and check connections if that doesnt work then idk

OMG! I FIXED ERROR 5!!
But heres my story first =D
so i play my xbox it works fine. i stop for about 2-3 days. i come back and OMG error 5 ! AHHH! so then i keep trying and researching. everything seems so complicating to do, so i walk up to my xbox and give it a good hard kick. i turn it on and BOOM no more error 5. PEACE!!

btw the driver cudve got stuck .. i meant i left it for 2 weeks without using it. ... so when i got really fkin pissed and kicked it it might have got the discs unstuck!!

Hey guys, I have a problem, as you probably figure. I softmodded my xbox not too long ago, did my research and everything. It went great worked like a charm. But a few weeks ago I accidentally renamed my msdash file and now it gave me the usual error 13. I know the problem already, but the fact is that I cant seem to access my xbox via FTP. I run it through a router, and i had done it other times before with no problem, but now that it gives me errors i cant access it at all. Is there anything I can do? Suggestions? Anything would help. I use FlashFXP as my FTP program and my softmod dash is unleashx.

i am new to this moding thing i have a v 1.0 xbox softmoddede but everytime i load it up i get errer 16 is there any way of fixing this without anouther xbox or chip

I tried to mod my xbox with splinter cell using a video i watched and i think i accidentaly installed the soft mod before installing unleashX and now i have a error 21 (if the error code is the number in the top left corner) and when i try to go to the dashboard it goes to the error page. please help me!
