Heyy guys, I've had a problem with my timer recording manager since I got my computer. I've updated my giga pocket software through sony but It still hasn't fixed it. When I schedule something to be recorded the video always turns out blank. But if I open giga pocket manually and click record it works fine. So its something with the timer recording manager. Any idea what is going on?

I have some advice and I need some help.

Advice - DO NOT USE SONY'S SOFTWARE (SPECIFICALLY GIGAPOCKET)

Help - I need a driver for a PCVA-IMB5A TV tuner card (1-860-696-51ENX-26) that works with Win Media Center on a PCVRS-720G.

I'm not too knowledgable in computers, but I know what I learned and what I am told. I purchased this computer exactly 2 years ago for my new business. Exactly 1 year ago it crashed. After spending days on the phone with Sony tech supprt, I took it to my brother-in-law (who is a programmer who used to work for AMD) to help me fix it and recover all of my business info. He plugged the hard drive into his system and even with the industries most advanced tools, he had a lot of trouble accessing anything and locating any of my files. I lost EVERYTHING for my first year of business. What he did manage to find was that Sony secretly attaches a hidden .dat file to every program on the computer, even the ones I installed after buying it including insurance company software. I was not able to recover ANYTHING. It corrupted all of the storage files: .pst in Outlook and Excel, my customer info in company proprietary software, and all of my financial information in Quickbooks. I had been working with one of Sony's highest level techs before I took it to my brother-in-law, so I called him back to let him know what he had found. The tech said that he could not confirm or deny that Sony takes those invasive measures with their software. He also told me that my brother-in-law knew what he was doing and I was lucky that I had him working on it. Sony is the #1 company in the fight against piracy and their measures have gained a lot of attention. This is one of their meaures that most people will never be able to find.

Luckily I caught a Fry's special at the time and got a $100 computer to use for my work. My brother-in-law wiped the hard drive clean o the Sony and installed Win Media Center Edition. My $100 computer has served me surprisingly well for the last year, but it's had it's day. So now I'm back to the Sony that has just been stuffed in a closet for the last year. I know from the tech at Sony that the same TV tuner card was used in other models that came with Media Center, and the driver would work. My brother-in-law could not find the driver and told me to call Sony to get it. When I called the tech back to find the specific driver, he no longer worked for Sony. None of the other techs would give me any info and told me to reinstall the software it came with. It became a $1,700 paperweight for the next year. Now I need it.

Does anyone know the specific driver for this card on Win Media Center. I think the models that had it were the RBG30 series. If anybody could help, please let me know. My username can be reached (IM or Mail) on Yahoo. Thanks

TranNguyen,

Sorry, I have no specific driver for ENX-11
These were only used in Japan Models?

See

http://www.vaiosite.com/review/vaio/old/pcvr/pcvr6.htm

Maybe you can search for the driver on the Japan sites.

Deer everyone,

I come here and hope to get your help for driver for my SONY TV CARD
The card info:
ENX-11
It maybe from the VAIO PCV-R52 (someone told me that, I?m not sure)
OS: Windows XP SP2 (not a VAIO pc)

I have downloaded and installed driver (from gigapocket 4.6 packages downloaded from Japanese website, some files named ?smbe?) for it and install the gigapocket 5.5. But when I start the TV SETUP, the error appears: chsetup: 6003
Then I tried to install gigapocket 4.6 with the same driver above, but when I plan a recording, it said the MPEG Encoder does not respond
What is my problem and how can I fix it. The www.vaio.sony.co.jp is a Japanese website. I cannot read Japanese.
Can I borrow your the serial number and product code of PCV-R52 to download original driver from vaio-link.com?
I?m too hard for this. I really need your help! I want to use this card for TV watching!
Thank for your attention !

Here is the MEDIA drivers extracted from a VGCRB42G using DRIVERMAX.

http://fileho.com/download/588341574643/...CRB42G.zip.html

Use freeware DRIVERMAX (or device manager) if you want to install driver files.

The ENX-26 card drivers for MCE are in the oem1.inf folder
Try and see if you can update driver with these.

Do the drivers not work or do the drivers install and just MCE does not work?

when i try using drivermax to install the drivers, they come out as sony sound drivers. but when i use the windows driver thing to install the drivers, they dont install, saying windows cannot install this hardware. then if i completely try to manually install the driver, the device manager then displays a question mark for sony realtime encoder board and the original multimedia video controller message doesnt go away.

I have an PCV-RZ14G with an ENX-15 card.

Has anyone tried this with Vista? I tried the files from agak and I get a message that says not windows XP.

Do these files work on WMCE and could those be the same files for Vista?

Thanks in advance.

ENX-15 does not work with MCE.
Only the GigaPocket software does.
Software v 4.xx is for WinXP but does not work with Vista?
