No problem, spread the news! I should have some video partition checks added by this weekend. I am working on a way to display the actual file tree, and stealth extract/inject is next on the list.
If you can, email your log file (located in "~/Library/Logs/OSx360.log") to me at

By the way, If anyone would like to make a new logo/design for OSx360 - please send me an email or pm! I would really like to have a simple yet elegant logo, but I am not that great with graphics.
Since this topic appeals to mac users, I believe someone out there may be willing to help me out.
Current project goals:
-SS/PFI/DMI Extraction/Injection
-Backup Ripping (Ripping Non-Original Disc to .iso)
-Backup Disc Stealth Checking (Stealth Check a burned Disc)
-Video Partition Verification

Just a quick update: I now have a KREON Drive, and have tested it with XBC in Fusion successfully. I found a lot of good source code on how to issue SCSI commands with Cocoa/Carbon. This means Game Partition Unlocking, SS Extraction, DMI Extraction and PFI Extraction should be possible from within OS X. How easy it will be is the question. If anyone would like to be part of this project and has experience with coding in Carbon/Cocoa, please contact me. I am sure I will be able to figure it out but I am slowing learning very technical code and it is a lot to take in.

I'm trying to burn ptc-turok.iso since a week. I tried first with Iburn360 before I saw your app. in iburn360, the Internal burner in my macbook pro burn that image up to 20% and say Finished!.
with your app, I only tried ounce, but got a error saying that my burner didnt respond after probably the same 20%...what's strange is that your verification of the image say PASS and everything look fine...
The log doesnt talk about a error at the end...

Anyone have experience with this one, they are twice the price of the Memorex :

Ritek/RiData. It's a pretty good brand I think.
No, these will probably not work. Memorex are usually re-branded ritek media anyway. I would suggest Verbatim or AOne if you are using a Matshita Drive. An external Pioneer or Hitachi LG Drive will burn most anything, but I would still recommend good media to increase your odds of the xbox 360 recognizing the disc.

I just hope I can find a cheap Enclosure that Support the DVD. I think I will borrow my friends Samsung external and test it because if it's working great, this is a cheap drive and Look nice too...

I need to know how many mac users have a KREON drive or any other drive capable of reading Xbox 360 Original Discs. I have made a program that will be the base for my Xbox 360 DVD Ripper. Before I release anything, I need to know some information from those drives.
I just want a quick count of people who are willing and able to help testing this. I need more help here than with the burning software, since I need checks for acceptable dvd reader models/firmware versions.
If you have one of these drives, open up terminal and paste this in there.
ioreg -l -w 999 | grep "Device Characteristics"
copy the result and post back here.
Thanks!

Hey all
How would I successfully go about burning an xbox 360 back up with the files .000 .dvd and SS.bin? Is there a specific process or program for OS X that can do this and have them play successfully?
also how would one go about burning a .360 file successfully? I've gone through many coasters and unreadable discs. I have been using iburn360 for iso files and have had no problems but can't seem to successfully burn these other types of files. not even when i rename them to .iso.
i should mention that i am using ixtreme v 1.4
any help or explanation asap would be much appreciated.
thanks a lot.

First of all .360 files are raw dumps and need to be made into a valid 360 disk image. This is not the easiest of all tasks. This can be done on a pc, but I would suggest ripping the disc again in the correct manner.
Second, .000 files should be fine if you inject the proper SS and stealth files. Since you are using iXtreme, you need to have all the stealth files for a successful burn.
This is probably not the right thread to discuss how to create a proper 360 .iso, so you should either read up some more on how to create a 360 disc image or just not try to burn non-stealth 360 images.
OSx360 will validate the iso for you (it will allow opening .000 files, but not burn them unless they are stealth). If it does not validate the image, it probably will not be able to be read in your 360, so you can save some coasters.

thanks for your reply but i'm still not sure what to do. I've read countless threads and I haven't found anything so far that helped my specific problem. I was hoping for some more detailed help.
I put the .360 file into iburn360 and before it burned it told me it had to patch the file. is patching the file the same as injecting SS into it? I thought it was going to work because the program asks me to patch every other iso i drop into it and they have all worked. ONLY .iso files have been successful for me so far with iburn360.
I've dropped every .000 file I have into Osx360 and it wasn't able to tell me any information on it.
One of the .000 files came with a SS.bin
Like i said, i've read through many threads and have come up with no successful process for successfully handling and burning these files into working back ups.
Any more help?
Thanks

Maybe you should read more closely........
I am not going to repeat it again.
Your firmware is iXtreme. That means you need ALL Stealth files in the iso (inject the stealth files into the iso) as well as the correct video partition. I would not bother burning those iso's again.
.360 are RAW dumps. No video partition, No SS, No DMI, No PFI. They will not work unless you have all the required stealth files and re-build the iso. Read this as: "Will not work"
.000 are valid iso's if you inject the video partition, SS, DMI,and PFI. They will not work unless you have all the required stealth files and inject them into the iso. Read this as: "Will not work for iXtreme"
Without trying to blur the line between piracy and backups, I would BACK UP YOUR 360 Discs properly. Your backups are not in the correct format and it would be easier to back them up again in the proper manner than trying to fix them.

Oh, and by the way...
The patching process that iBurn360 runs is the imgbpatch.jar and iBurn360 has an error in the code which will patch an image even if it's not required. I know this because I have worked with him and I found this error.
All it does is patch the video partition, and in most cases should not be required anymore.
iBurn360 does not inject the SS.bin or any other stealth files. I have this on my list for OSx360, but I am working on a 360 ripping app right now so that will wait.
You obviously need to read up. iXtreme is very picky about your discs since it is made to fool Xbox Live's checks. Your disc image must have all the required partitions and security sectors to even be readable.

So you're pretty much saying the files i have right now (.000 even with the SS.bin and the .360) are useless to me?
you say .360 won't work unless i have the valid SS files and rebuild the iso. what if i do have the required files? how would i go about rebuilding the iso?
you say .000 files are valid but i need to inject the proper files into the iso. if i had these files how would i 'inject' them into the iso?
it seems like on one hand you are saying 'will not worl' but on the other hand you are saying 'if i do certain things (rebuild the iso, inject files into the iso etc...) that i could get it to work.
forgive my confusion. i do appreciate you baring with me. ;)

Yes. It is possible *If* you have the proper files.
No. It is not worth the time and effort. Ripping the iso the proper way is easier and quicker. If you don't have all the required files, you need a KREON drive (or other drive capable of reading the 360 original discs) to get them which means you should probably just re-rip the disc.
what I mean is it could work (I have done this before, but it's not simple), but I don't think YOU can do it or worth the time even if you could. The iso rebuilding process cannot be done on a mac at this time, so you will need a pc. The process involves extracting the game partition from the .360 or .000 (I'm not sure but the .360 may just be the game partition - told hold me to this). and using a tool such as XDVDMulleter to merge the game_partition.iso, video.iso, ss.bin, pfi.bin, and dmi.bin - even then, I cannot guarantee that it will work.

So I'm assuming you can get all the stealth files? Good luck. I still think your wasting your time. VMWare Fusion, Parallels Desktop, Bootcamp... Any of those will do the job. You may want to read up on some other forums. I don't know all the rules about linking to sites here so I will just tell you to read up on Xbox-Scene and Xboxhacker.
