Hi nelsal: lets start from scratch and see if we can get you up & running you are ntl SPORTSTER & Nokia d-box2 yes?
When you follow these steps
1 - press the blue button on your DBOX - and go to option 2 Tuxbox commander.
2- then scroll down to the option that says "var" and press ok
3- scroll down to "keys" and press ok
4- scroll down to "keylist.txt + press 4 (DO NOT OK)

I am from Bradford and having problems using FTP i have used FlashFXP and cute FTP but with no luck. I have uninstalled my firewall and tried but i cant get the pc to communicate with the dbox, i am using a crossover cable - is there anything i have to do wth the dbox to get it to work when i go to the network connectioned it is not returning any packets.
How do you do know what your user name and password is on dbox instead of using root and dbox2, how could you confirm this.
anyone know where to download dbox command centre, dont say check the forums because they require you to register and have more than 10 posts to download.
And help will be appreciated.

hi evry1 i have a few questions,i have looked through this thread but cant seem to find the answers that i want if any1 could help id be very grateful
i have a n****a d**x2 running on sportster 1.6 uk01 on VM & im in manchester
firstly when this first happened i (like a lot of us) rescanned the box do i now need to reflash it?
i have tried entering keys i have deleted the old ones & now have nothing at all in the keylist file could anyone tell me exactly what keys i should have there for my area starting from the N & including the time,date & rom no
i have read that you need to have rom7 enabled & all the rest disabled how exactly do i do this?
ive downloaded the bigmaq toolbar how do i know what codes to use for my area (vm in manchester)pure n*l or ex c*w?
do you have to subscribe to the minimum package to get all this to work? i know that this sound like a stupid question its just that my box was working perfectly well for well over a year after i got cut off & its only now that i have had any problems!(my internet is still on LOL! so i should still be getting a signal???)
im goin to pick up a cable 2moz to connect my box to pc (in case i need to flash) what cable do i need exactly? ive read about null modem & crossover cables but how will i know which to use? do they connect to ethernet or rs232 on back of box?
any help that could at least get me up & running 2day would be very much appreciated THE FOOTYS ON AT 4!!

ive just found out that i have a 1x chip not a 2x chip can this cause a major problem or can it be fixed

i put the wrong img file on the dbox sagem 1x now it says no system o nscreen (kein system ) halfway through flshing it says uboot 1.1.2 ? help

I am in the Swansea area and have a No*ia D*ox using Blade Trinity Image 2.0. A few days ago the tv guide does no appear. Channels appear with numbers but not their titles and they are all over the place.
I am receiving no EPG on some channels. I have gone into the tuxbox command and checked the keylist and there are no codes in side. Can anyone help as I am a real dunce to these things, thanks.

I solved my DBox problems,i threw it out the window,, well ok i havent i live in Kent ive searched through all the endless advise,, as good as it is,but noone seems to come from this area on here, are the codes according to areas, sorry if im a pain id appreciate a reply thanking you in advance. I have the information on the tv just not the actual programme,, where it used to say Freeview at bottom of screen it now says Nagra.

I have a Sagem DBOX / Virgin / Midlands area
from billie22 - - - - - - - - -
STEP 1: First press the blue button on the remote, choose Sportster (or blue button again), go to EMU settings (or blue button again) and choose EVOCAMD. Press green or go to EMU/Autoupdate. In grey it will tell you wether updates are activated or deactivated. Press yellow to deactivate if its not already deactivated. Press home x 3 back to the EMU selection screen, press red on the EVOCAMD to restart this.
STEP 2: You need to download software to your computer only. Do this by clicking the link and downloading/installing it to your computer: http://bigmaq.ourtoolbar.com/
This just adds a toolbar to your internet explorer. On the toolbar go to Latest Keys and choose your area, choose the latest date if more than 1 option and it will give you two codes which look like: KEY 0 (followed by digits) and KEY 1 (followed by digits). Make a note of these for the next step. This will hopefully tell you the code whichever area you live in.
STEP 3:
1 - press the blue button on your DBOX - and go to option 2 Tuxbox commander.
2 - then scroll down to the option that says "var" and press ok
3 - scroll down to "keys" and press ok
4 - scroll down to "keylist.txt and press 4 (to edit)
5 - If your like me and are in the Pure NTL area your codes will start like N 5401 01 etc etc, press ok on the 1st key which starts with N 5401 00
6 - Now use the codes you got from Biqmaq in step 2:

I had to change it to this

and this worked great Type in this number after 00 and the 01. i.e. overwrite the number after the 00 or 01 using your remote control. (it takes a while to get the knack of it).
7 - Press ok to exit then press home. It will ask you if you want to save, choose yes. Press home again and again save if asked until you are back to the normal screen.
Note: The screen will still be black at this point.
STEP 4:
Now press the blue button, go to Sportster (or blue button again), choose EMU SELECTION and press red or ok to restart the EVOCAMD, a confirmation message will be shown. Now your picture should appear. If not try to restart and then it should appear.

OK FOLKS I HAVE LOOKED THROUGH MANY FORMS AND HAVE EVENTUALY FIGURED OUT HOW TO MAKE IT WORK SO HERE GOES.
0 - download bigmaq toolbar at http://bigmaq.ourtoolbar.com/ and install, on the toolbar there is "latest keys"
this will give you all the new keys for telewest etc your old provider before virgin took over.
1 - press the blue button on your DBOX - and go to option Tuxbox file manager/commander press ok.
2- then scroll down to the option that says "var" and press ok
3- scroll down to "keys" and press ok
4- scroll down to "keylist.txt and press 4 (DO NOT OK)to edit you must PRESS 4
4a- delete all keys by pressing ok to highlight and then 8, exit if it asks you to save do, restart dbox
4b- wait for a few mins go back into keys.txt using 4(DO NOT OK), new keys should be there.
5- scroll onto it then press OK so you can now edit it
after 00 or the 01 - change the key to match the new ones from bigmaq using the buttons like a phone
you should only have to change 1 or 2 numbers/letters eg n 5a01 00 ****************:rom7 just leave the time and date
n 5a01 01 ****************:rom7 * is the ones you change
it might say rom10 insetead of rom7, don't think it matters
6 - Press ok to exit then press the button under your power button (under the orange button)
7- and save changes when asked, if box is in German press ja.
8- Reboot (restart your box) and bingo, it should work
every time your box stopes working, repeat. it's a bit of a pain in the arse but hey it's free cable

I got it working in Vista 64 and still having my net running as i have two ethernet connections .
Way to set it up is Local Area Connections networking untick everything apart from internet protocol 4 (TCP/IPV4).
Set up the way it says for xp now no need for the half duplex thing should work no problem.

Hi I've been accessing my box via FTP, but I can't change/edit/delete anything as it says the file permissions are wrong. How can I change these (on the box), when I change them on XP it gives me an error (550).

i have just redone a service scan and i have 50 entries in my keylist.txt
00 rom7
01 rom7
00 rom10
01 rom10
shall i delete all the old ones leaving the latest 4 as above?
and then deactivate the auto updates?
i think my number starts 5c so i guess its a CW area ? Aylesbury the toolbar is dates 11 april and i cant add my area so i assume its generic?
will this be ok?
