first off, amazing, pspjunior and kealvalro u guys r the reason why the psp homebrew community is thriving
I just joined the forum, but i have been reading this thread for quite a bit now, successfully gotten hen_c and devhook running perfectly but i do have one problem that i cant solve:
i can successfully emulate 2.71 firmware, as needed to run iso's, but after rebooting to emulated 2.71 my psp freezes upon inserting a umd. I have also tried putting in a umd during devhook setup, but after hitting start i get the dreaded black screen folowed by freeze.
any suggestions for fix?

Hi
I'm a complete newbie, so please go easy on me.
I've installed everything as per the guide. I can switch between 1.5 and 2.71.
I can play homebrew and anything that requires 1.5
Problem is anything new says "this requires 2.71" when UMD selected. I can't update, if I go into DviceHook and change to 2.71 and start the psp it switches off, and no icon is available as a UMD.
Also when in 2.72 there is no Henc in th Photo section
any help?

gerikoh you have to emulate to 2.71 in devhook menu
in the devhook menu change the SFO version to "2.xx to 2.00"
then press start in the menu now boot ace combat X.it should work now coz i am playing it too.

I have been reading this thread for a while now, and you guys have done an awesome job. I need a little help though. When I load devhook and the 2.71 fw, my Iso will show up where the UMD is, but when I go to start the game, the screen stays black, but I can hit the home button and go back to the regular menu. If you have any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

@ DocmIc, once devhook has been booted u willl need a umd..ANY UMD for the iso to work
@burgiju, then that is a file u can use. just make a folder in the ROOT of your memory stick called ISO and drag your ISO/CSO in there
@OceanGram, be more specific.

Hey pspjunior! Thanks for responding. I have a NCAA UMD in at all times, and I have downloaded Dragonball Z. After I have done devhook 2.71, the NCAA UMD comes up, but I see my DBZ ISO. At this point everything is working like it should, but once I start the DBZ ISO, my psp loads and then just stays black. Thanks for the help in advance!

i think that you need atleast 1 original GAME umd disc so that you can boot the iso because this makes the psp think that there is a game loaded just buy used games so that it wont be that exprnsive..
thanks pspjunior for always making a reply

dude... I don't know how to make a video, nor do I want to make one. I really don't have a camera for myself, but my other family members do... so forget that idea.
Listen, I'll say it calmly this time. Please listen carefully. I'll post the msg you sent me before you made this thread, and watch because I followed all of your steps carefully and got the devhook and HEN to work. After I got the PSP to the orange background, it said that the version is 1.5. So I download the CORRECT PSP SNES and install it into GAME.... it still didn't work! It always comes up as corrupt data... does that make anything better?

Hey!
I have one question. In the readme of the "HENC-DEVLAUNCHER271" package, it says that he has included Jap 2.71 and 1.5 dumps. Would it work on a US psp??
Thanks a lot!
