After selecting your iso from devhook and click 2.71 (flash only) then click start it should take u back to homepage put in ur UMB, it loads UMB from my memory card instead work fine on mine am playing NFS:Carbon OTC :-)

I'm having trouble running the iso. I have fw2.71 and a ta-0082 Mobo. I have devhook port to 2.71 and henc. I loaded my iso in
the MS under ISO folder. In the ISO folder I have PSP_game and UMB_data. When I run henc and then devhook, I select umd_select,
I see UMB_data_bin. I choose this and choose start and close the
UMD drive. But after than my psp freezes. what am I doing wrong.

Everything has really helped howerver my games stil wont play. In the guide pspjunior said in guide 2 step 6 "Now for the fw, choose 2.71(flash)" but there isnt a flash option.there was only 2.71. Did i dl the wrong program because i got it all from the rite sources i think. I just dont know what to do when after i press start my psp goes blank

PspJunior I did everything the guide says but when i click on Henc the screen turns blue then red. Then the psp turns off. Any idea what going on?

Okay...so from the beginning since i realised many other poeple had the same problem before.
I followed the intructions perfectly...and i've been meddling with my psp non stop for the past 9 hrs trying to figure out how to play ISO files on my psp. I'mm 100% i followed the intrustions...ive got the 1.5 and 2.71 dump and theres no umd. However, in the beginning my psp just turned off when i pressed start to play my game. Now, it turns off after i select devhook. the blue screen works sumtimes which is fine but i cant seem to pass a point. Does anyone have a clue wats going on?

Help~
I followed the steps. When i get the blue screen I didnt get the green screen, instead it turned black and the power went off after a few secs,instead of rebooting. (I retried alot of times on this) After that i tried to load DH it get the same error the game cannot be loaded(8xxxxxxx.
Also i realise after that there's 2 more BIN files in my MS_root.
Does it work on asian PSP?

How to run ISO/CSO games onV2.71 TA-028 PSP *

This will allow you to play your backup games from your memory stick, instead of having to load them from your UMD drive.
After trial and error and help from the people at maxconsole.net I finally have devhook running on my PSP FW 2.71 TA-082.
Download Homebrew Enabler for 2.71 revision C from http://www.dark-alex.org/
Download Devhook launcher port to 2.71 (now with support of 2.71 flash) from http://www.dark-alex.org/
Copy the contents of the MS_ROOT directory from Homebrew Enabler for 2.71 revision C, to the root of your memory stick.
Extract the files in Devhook launcher port to 2.71 (now with support of 2.71 flash).
Copy the directories dh and PSP to the root of your memory stick.
Create a folder in the root of your memorystick and call it iso.
Copy your iso or cso file into that directory.
You should now have the following structure on your PSP memorystick:

Do a hardware reset by keeping the power switch pressed; PSP should turn on and off.
Open the UMD Drive.
Turn on PSP.
Enter the Photo menu and select HENC.
The first time you run the program, you will see quickly a blue screen, and after that a screen that can be of two colors:
* Red: the files couldn't be written to the flash. Just keep trying until it works.
* Green: The files were written successfully. After that, the PSP will be rebooted.
(The next time you do this, the files have already been written to the flash and it will just show a blue screen and reboot.)
After the reboot enter the Game menu and select the memory stick.
Start Devhook0.4X launcher for 2.71.
Enter the following settings:
Firmware: 2.71 (flash)
CPU clock: 222MHz/111Mhz.
Boot select: Reboot XMB
UMD Select: file.cso
UMD SFO Version: no change
Remote ctrl: remote controller
Preload address: 0x89400000
That will give you the following information in the bottom of the screen:
Target: (reboot xmb)
UMD file: ms0/iso/PERSIA.cso
UMD mode:image+anyumd ,Ver.no change
FW path: ms0:/df/271(flash)
Clock: 222/111
Remote: remote controller
Pl-addr: 89400000
DH ver. 0.45.0000
FW Ver: 2.07.0110
Battery: 3.730V
Select Start from the main menu.
Screen goes black.
Insert the UMD disc.
Wait.
Now you should see in the Game menu your just loaded iso/cso under UMD instead of the actual game in the drive.
Start it and play the game.

wow you guys have lots of problem running iso or cso games.
there is no problem with the guide i guess.
im sorry i would like to help for u Devhook launcher port to 2.71 users but i am using chunglams devhook now so.
i'll try to help tell me.
1)did you place all the files in the right place?
2)does HENC boots?
3)does devhook launcher for 2.71 works?
4)did you went to devhook's 2.71 already?
5)did you place an iso game image in the iso folder?
6)did you place a UMD disc when choosing a vitual game?
if all you have done then there is no problem.
anyway guys there is a huge problem coming up that is a new motherboard for the psp is matbe being made,it;s called a TA-086.i do not know if it is real,but these is a pic about this in 0okm's blog.
they say that they might not be hacked.
they also say that if it is hackable then the hackers might skip we TA-082 users to downgrade and go for the TA-086 instead.
not sure about this but i think it will not be out anytime soon.

i need help with vcs.
i dont have a ta-082 mobo and im suing 2.71 with HENC and devhook. i can load up marvel ua no problem, but wen i pick my cso of vcs and go to the xmb, it freezes when i put in a umd. i know that a umd is needed to boot it/make it show but is there another way or is there something i can do to make it work. i used to work, but i cant remember if thats wen it was the only game on my ms (i think it was the 857 mb iso)

Do you always turn on your psp with UMD inserted be4 loading Henc and DevHook? if yes then take out UMD and Hard Reset means hold on/off up 3-5sec then it will turn off then turn it on again and do all the steps again if 1 time doesn't work then hard reset it 2-3 times then it will work good luck.

hi guys
this is a great thread
i have a TA-082 psp
i wanted to ask you that when i am able to reach the devhook module on my psp then when i set it at firmware 1.5 then the psp system is temporarily in the 1.5 fw mode .
then can i upgrade my psp with [Dark AleX's 2.71 Custom Firmware SE-B"] .
i think it may be possible as this custom firmware can only be put on 1.5 firmware systems AND HAS A SERIOUS WARNING OF BRICKKING
EXTREMELY POSSIBLE ON TA-082 systems and as ta082 psp cannot be downgraded yet hence it cannot be used
but after emulating 1.5 i think it will work
it is a great idea and if it works it will totally solve the problems of a ta084 motherboard as this custom firmware is the best there can be yet and has a wide range of different applications such as NO NEED OF ANY UMD TO PLAY ISO GAMES and extremely good compatibility
let me tell you all that it is originally my idea and i have not found this thought on any other forums
