Followed all the steps here as a complete newbie and everything works fine, just been playing GTA LCS and it is awesome.
I tried the ISO compressor and i have managed to get Field Commander down to half the 1.9 but still big on the stick.
What about .CSO files i have The Godfather in .CSO format and to put it on the stick means i have to dump something else off it its about 1.9 mb any ideas?
Never switch it off always stick it in sleep mode...that's my way lol

Hogget - you were having problems (29th October)& then suddenly you got it to work (30th October), BUT u didn't tell us what u did to fix it. So what did u do???

Try using UMDGen to open the iso and remove the pad0 file. Look in PSP_GAME/USRDIR for pad0.pad or pad1.pad. These are dummy files used to stretch out the game's content to the edge of the UMD, so load times are faster. The pad files are really big most of the time. Removing the pad files does nothing to the actual game, and since your playing off your memory stick, they are unneeded. After removing the pad0 file just save as (use a different name) and it will compile a new iso that is smaller. It should work with a cso file as well. Also you could convert the iso to a cso using "psp iso compressor" it shrinks the iso some and saves it as a cso.

sorry about that, i just got so excited that i had done it after spending so much time on it.
Basicly i must have missed a step, so i dwnloaded the ultimate installer, took out the files from the DH271 and copied them into my DH271,.
Then i rebooted using HENC, then the Devhook installer straight too 2.71 instaead of going back to 1.5. then as the saying goes "bada bee bada bosh bada bee bada bong!"
I hope that helps, but id id follow every step from the ist thread all the way through exactly.

aha, so if I understand you, you used the chaoszero ultimate dh installer 1.1.1 to generate a dh271 folder on your pc, then copied that over onto your psps and all was well.

I've waited 2 months now, and I haven't received 1 answer about my problem.
I know that there are two folders, I still used both and got the damn corrupt msg. I did use devhook correctly, but what is wrong then?

OK, brief and simple... listen:
I upgraded from 2.6 to 2.71. I got devhook and HENC. junior here pmed me and told me how to do the whole process, and it worked out. Now I can go into version 1.5 from 2.71. However, the problem appeared when I tried to load SNES onto my PSP. I saw the file with a % and a normal one too, yet both of them came up as corrupt data when I tried to load them onto my memory stick. I tried it so many ways, and yet it still doesn't run. Also, if I wanted to play actual PSP games (Monster Hunter Freedom preferably), how would I do that on this PSP 1.5 using HENC?

that's because u need a Snes emulator for psp devhook, psps can't play snes games unless you install a snes emulator like the gba emulator how to play snes or gba games you need the proper emulator if you already installed the emulator just read readme.txt file that came with the emulator, and to load iso games with devhook after loading henc then load devhook if it boots then hold HOME press R or L on ur psp then u'll see thegamename.iso and infos about the iso/cso loaded then put anyUMD an original UMD disc any of them then go to games select UMD and if u see Dummy UMD then u will see an error saying that u have version 2.71 and u need to upgrade it to version 9.99 then u need to do the following step go to games memory stick then select DevHook Configure after it loads select "Toggle UMD disc and ISO/CSO mode" it will change to load UMD then you can play ur original UMD u have inserted then go back and change it back to load ISO/CSO then you can play ur ISO game hope this help u on playing psp iso games.

I will keep trying to hard reset but every time I go to the pictures which is henc it freezes what do you think I should do.

stevenpsp,good i have time to drop by.anyway i have close my thread but i will come here sometimes.
if u have problems booting henc then that mean you have miss out some of the files.
i know your problem is that when you click on HENC,the pic blinks a little then it freezes rite.
you can do two ways one is that you download the HENC in psp-hacks.com or in pspupdates.qj.net then just open the file with WinRAR and then you will see two folders one is SRC and one is {bold]MS_ROOT[/bold] k.Now first move SRC folder straight to your memory stick then open MS_root folder,and you will see these files and a folder
PSP (this is a folder)
h.bin
patch.bin
pspbtknf.txt
pspbtknf_game.txt
pspbtknf_updater.txt
systemctrl.prx
now just move all of this to your memory stick(overwrite if it ask)
then the rest u can ask pspjunior.he should know bout this
or the second way is to,
this is the chunglam version not the dark_alex version!!!
this is my easy installer
download this file with a torrent client

format your memory stick(must for best result)
just extract all the files to your memory stick and put the iso game in the iso folder then boot henc(wait for the folder box to be covered then click on it) and then boot devhook(not the reconfigure) then set the settings,
umd select - your game.iso(that is your game)
firmware - 2.71(not the nandflash one,just to try.later u can use it)
clock - 222/111(dont use 300/150 or 333/166,some users brick their psp when doing this)
thumnail mode - enable
auto disc id - enable
more options>>UMD SFO VERSION - 2.xx to 2.00(leave the rest)
add-on menu>>HEN(2.71 only) - enable(leave the rest)
press on start
that is it now you can play your games
but if u want to play killzone you have to disable add-on menu>>HEN(2.71 only)
that is it.oh and i forgot to ask you guys about this,if you want to change your 1.50 firmware blackground tell me.coz i can change it.

I don have the 2.71(flash) , i only have 1.5(flash) . Im using kealvalro's easy installer ver 2 .. and btw shud i change to chunglams ? isit a whole lot better ?

this is up to you.chunglam mod has a lot more stuff in it.
like usbhost that is u can play your games via usb from your computer
there is a nandflash 2.71 that is you can use devhook on your original firmware
and there is a function to disable HENC if you want to play killzone and some other games.

Ok . i think i will try out the chunglam one .. btw does anyone kno how to make valkyrie profile playable ? mine freezes at the first battle ..

hello , I just got my PSP :-) i just followed your guide until up the the end after i selected 2.71 and my iso selected.. i clicked start then my PSP just switch itself off, i can seen my game preview when on 1.50 but wont let me play telling me to update , so i switch to 2.71 it just switch off after i click start
can anyone help?
