Unstable overclock then. Changing which speed memory you use can affect how far you can overclock even if the memory isn't being pushed, due to different levels of stress on the NB, I found that out. Even though my RAM is underclocked, if I set it at the correct CAS4, my PC doesn't even POST.

mmm i was also limited to my OCing before, getting random memory BSODs, then i replaced the TIM on the VRMs and NB and SB with OCZ freeze, and i found i could get another 600MHz out of my E2140 :)

you might want to replace the TIM?

Probably wise, my chipset gets pretty hot these days and that could well be a factor.

Rob,
Why is it showing your memory as DDR3, or is this a different MB?

Adding to this, 4x cards are upwards compatible also (the ones I've seen) as the RAID card I've used for a few months has been running successfully in my extra 16x

well after banging my head again most the night with this mem shutting down every 10 Min's or so,or every couple Min's while stressing. its out and the ddr2 800 is back in and has been running orthos all night after a hour of OCCT and passing 10 test with IBT at max mem. maybe i got a bad couple sticks of mem???? they are going back today. think i will pick up the OCZ vendetta2 and give it a whirl along with a red neon cathode.. brighten things up a bit plus i will need it for the HAF932

Possibly, or the Northbridge isn't stable enough to power the higher speed memory, I've seen that before. MCH voltage adjustments should in theory cure that if it's the case.

Newegg just sent me my new Brd P5Q Premium, I'm going to put my Comp back together. Is their a specific way that I should apply the Arctic Silver to the CPU (Quad Q9450). If memory serves me right,it should be 2 lines side to side, instead of spread evenly...Am I right, can't remember. I know it was posted, but I can't find it. Sorry bout that

I think one line probably suffices or you risk using too much.

OK Thanks. But the line is the correct way Right. Not spread

Also I'm getting ready to build a computer 4 my Granddaughter,I like this case except 4 the way the HDD are mounted. I prefer side to side, much easier, instead of front to back

Yeah line is the correct method.
Thermaltake Sopranos are OK, but they're nowhere near as good as they look in the picture, very cheaply made.
