Go to Network Settings, right click on a network connection, click advanced tab, uncheck "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's network connection". Click "OK". Do the same with each connection in turn. Reboot PC to unload any resident drivers and try again.

I don't know that much about dboxes and what it does... I tried looking it up and the capabilities of it. But to your answer for your second question is... Get a slingbox... I heard pretty good stuff from that and you can hook it up over at ur buddies house and get those channels that he is watchin and such. Tried to help

Hi All
Have just bought a nokia dbox2 and attached to my cable. All is fine and have scanned the cable. I now have 260+ bouquets. This makes it a bit hard to find channels. Can I just delete most of these bouquets with the browser and keep say 5 and make these contain my most watched channels? I don't want to remove them and find I have also lost the channels!
Secondly, I want to add a hard drive to allow recording locally. Is there a size limit above which the xbox will not be able to see? I remember disk size issues with some PCs a few years ago due to address bus size limitation. Also, what jumper setting should I use for the hard drive and is the cable standard IDE or is it something I need to get from a specialist supplier or ebay? Is there a particular image that I should be running to support the hard drive. I'm currently on sportster version from may 06.
Thirdly, I have noticed that the volume output to the scart cable is much lower than my pace box. Is there a menu setting to raise this - I have looked through the web and don't see any way of raising it. Maybe there's a menu hidden away that I have not found - the remote that came with the dbox is a bit hard to use - I have seen pictures of a different one that has more buttons and appears intuitive to use unlike mine which is DB-2SG and has the 4 coloured buttons, on/off '?' 'dbox' 'ok' 'home' and digits plus volume buttons and mute only.
So lastly, can anyone tell me if it's possible to get a better remote control, please?
Sorry this has been a bit lengthy, but life's like that i guess.
Thanks

I'll try and answer some of your questions,
For the bouquet problem you can FTP into your box and delete bouquets.xml and reboot the box and add your own favourites. You have all those because you had the settings in the scan menu set to update.
The hard drive as far as I am aware cannot be over 137GB. Also you need to buy an IDE interface.Info on this link:
http://www.dboxservice-hallenberg.de/ide.php
Can't help with scart volume.
New remote here: http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/search.d...tle=dbox+remote

Your ghosting sounds like a scart lead problem, you need a good screened one. Avoid cheap ones that have thin cable.
You will not pick up the American satellite as it will be below our horizon.

Have you tried "Bruteforce" and "Fast Scan" set to OFF?
You could always get a services.xml file for your area and FTP it into your DBox.

just a little note,
my mate borrowed a box, he's been in his flat for 6 years now, never had t/w, plugged the box to the t/w wall connector that the previous tennants had, and it worked, full channels
this was done with a dreambox, so i presume any box will work.

nokia Dbox2
I managed to find the settings for the audio in the menu under Main Menu, Settings, Audio, Volume control = ost
I dont know what ost actually is but now the volume is the same as my other pace box and can be controlled by the remote.
I hope this might be of some use to someone.
Incidentally, is there a guide anywhere to the menu options anywhere online as some of the abbreviations are a bit obscure.
Replies appreciated

Please forgive my newbie post, however i would like to know if you have to pay for N=L for a basic package before you can hook up a dbox2? and also is there any way of them knowing that you have de srambled the channels to get it for free?

You need a live feed into your proberty, broadband or a basic package will do. They will not know because the box will not talk back to them like a rented box.

HI all. I bought a nokia dbox2 and it worked for a week. I messed with controls and channels went blank. I managed (finally) to flash image (given to me by seller as "original image") using command centre. I got Kein System and having trawled through endless forums and tweaking my settings I still can't flash an image using IFA. Please help me as I am slowly going crazy and this dbox is taking over my life.

You have probably flashed the wrong image type, you need to make sure you choose the correct one for your box. Nokia DBox2 will be a 2X image whereas Sagem or Philips can be a 1X or 2X image box.
Look here at the last post for instructions.

Thanks for your advice. I'm now getting "Lade Software" now when I try to flash an image. Any ideas? Thanks again!

That means it's "LOADING SOFTWARE", does it keep saying that? or does it complete?
