Actually, i wanted a PS2 game. My friend game me all the files from the PS2 DVD (he forgot to give me the image/the iso file). So now what should i do to make it work in PS2. My PS2 is moded.
So how do i write the files in the DVD now, please explain me in steps
Do i write in DVD+R or DVD-R?
If you have Nero and there is no one single file over 2GB in size, then in Nero burning Rom choose DVD-ROM ISO/UDF and then copy all the files that you have for the PS2 game into the compilation.
Then burn on DVD-R at 4x-8x speed depending upon the speed of your discs.
Where is this option,,, "DVD-ROM ISO/UDF"

You need to open "Nero Burning Rom" to see the options. Then click on "NEW"
Then you will see a browser and you find your folder, select all files, and copy to compilation

hi i just bought a ps2 recently and got it modded and the pirated games i buy work fine, even the direct cd to cd burning backups of my friends ps2 games work fine. but whenever i download a game from the net (from torrents & some other free gmae downlaoding sites) it doent seem to work i keep getting the message on my ps2 ( a red page) "please insert a ps or a ps2 format disk" . i dont know if its my mistake or the games i am downloading are fake or something.i burn the image files using nero8 at 4x on moserbear dvds. (and one more thing when i burn the image file should i burn the content of the image using image burn or just burn the image as it is using data dvd option. coz i tried using the 1st method and it doesnt seem to work . please help me

I have a problem to which i have posted a thread as well but no one is replying so i decided to post here as well:
Ive got the iso of Burnout Dominator NTSC on my PC,
I burned it at a speed of 4x(Minimum Speed Of the disc) Using DVD Decrypter on a Moserbaer DVD-R . When i first tried it it took some time to load but it started up perfectly, now when I try to load it it gets stuck on the loading screen, I dont know whats wrong my other backups on moserbaer dvds worked fine(they still do, though i burned them at 2x).
Should i try another dvd at 2x? or is it a lens problem?
Please help ASAP.
P.S. If i want to load the game after the first time it loads i have to take out the power cord from the back of the ps2 and then plug it back in. reseting or turning off the console doesn't work.
the thread is here: Weird Problem: Burnout Dominator works the first time when put in the console but not second time??!

You can try one thing,
get dvd decrypter(i use that for all my downloads and it does seem to work fine), open dvd decrypter and in the menu toolbar select iso write, in source browse to the iso you downloaded, and select it,
insert the bland dvd and burn at 2x speed.
then check if it works if it still doesnt then it could be that the file you downloaded is corrupted or fake(or your modchip isnt able to make your ps2 read the region and hence make it work)
Do not burn the iso as a data file as the ps2 reads the system.cnf file, and the elf files to make the game load, it doesnt read iso images.

@dhruv990
I would upgrade to imgburn (its the successor to DVD Decrypter) leave everything at default settings.
Then burn at 4x speed.
If that doesn't fix it, then try using Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim or Sony DVD-R disks.

Hi there. I wish to ask some weird thing I faced when burning PS2 game. I am using Nero 7 and also the Copy DVD mode to straight copy the whole Ps2 game content into a totally blank DVD. I burned 4 of them with 4x speed but only one of them can run. Another one is facing extreme long loading time until I manually turn it off and another two were rejected by PS2 as not PS2 game. (even so the only one which able to run is facing lag when playing movie and also in game sound / background sound)
Is it we must use DVD-ROM to burn PS2 games instead of straight COPY DVD?
Thank you for your help and advice.

You should use Nero to make an ISO image of your PS2 backup, then burn the ISO image at 4x speed.
I myself prefer to use Imgburn to back up the PS2 game, then burn it.
@ sgvaibhav
Most PS2 will not even read DVD-RW or DVD+RW
And even when the PS2 reads these discs they are very hard on the PS2 laser.
Just fine to use to test the game, but then use Imgburn and burn to DVD-R at 4x

So you mean it will be better if we do it step by step from creating ISO and burn it instead of directly copying from disc to disc? It sounds the same for me...
Nevermind I should try it out and report the result later.
Thank you very much =D

Just use imgburn for DVD to create an ISO image of the disc, then burn the ISO image to DVD at 4x or higher depending upon your media.

Hello!
I feel kinda bad asking similar questions of everyone elses, but the amount of times I've re-read everyone's posts - I still can't seem to get the right answers or simply do not understand..
My question: recently my friend asked me to get her a game called "Dog's Life", but the problem with this game..it's so old, I can not find it in stores... so! I got the ISO image of the game through my own sources and wonder, how can I make it into a disc so that her regular ps2 can read it.. ? is it even possible ? or Will she have to get her ps2 modded ? or.. is there something else.. ? Hope I can get some step-by-step tips and answers.. thanks a bunch !
p.s: I've tried burning the ISO image (using imgburn) to a DVD+R at 4x .. the ps2 wasn't able to read it.

You could buy Swap Magic with fliptop/Swap Tool Pro (needed to block sensors on a slim ps2) and that will read the disk you burned using imgburn.
The PS2 will not read a burnt disc, unless it is modded either by hardware or software mod.
There are many tutorials on how to play ps2 backups if you do a forum search.
