Please help. This is my first time buring a PS2 game. Ok I understand i need a decrypter. But this is not exactly a PS2 game I am burning. I have this SNES emulator for PS2 disc (with SNES roms in it). I can play the disc on my PS2 but then it does not have some of the SNES roms I want. So I have downloaded some more roms that I'd like to add onto it.
I tried to just copy the disc folders to my hard drive and then add some roms into the folder and then burn the whole thing back onto a DVD-R. The PS2 wont read it.
I checked the tyep of the orginal emulator disc in "properties" and it is in UDF format while the one I burned is in CDFS format. Cou;d this be the problem?
If I use a decrypter, it would only allow me to burn the exact same thing to a DVD but not allow me to add more roms, is that correct? So how to burn the thing and at the same time allow me to put more files onto it?
Thanks very much for anyone who tries to answer my question. I am really not good at this thing..cheers!

it's been forever since i've messed around with ps2 games. But you have to rewrite the file using a program that will take apart the file. if it's a mds or iso file use something like Magic Iso. what you are doing is trying to add roms and burn the file as a data disc and that's not gonna cut it for the ps2. there are a lot of pages on this forum about ps2 iso rewriting. wish i could go into detail but it's been a long time for me like i said.

You don't say what brand or type of disc DVD-R or DVD+R
Try burning it at 4x-8x and see if that helps.
Or check where you downloaded from and read the comments on how it works for others.

DVD-RW are not read by all PS2, and even when they can be read they are very hard on your laser, and will wear it down.
YOu need to use DVD-R and burn it at 4x or so.

Of course I am sure and know what I am talking about.
I would know better yet if you tell me what Version PS2 you have.
Look at the back on older PS2 or on the bottom of slim PS2 for the SCPH - xxxx

Ok that model will play DVD-R just fine. I suggest to use Sony or Verbatim. Don't use cheap brands.
You can also use DVD+R, but make sure to set BOOKTYPE for DVD+R to DVD-ROM in your burning program.
I use Sony mostly myself and have had no problems with any discs in years.

hang on brothers!
I have the same problem with DVD Decrypter. Let me tel you the process for burning DVD for PS2.
From the menu select Mode>ISO>Write.
Select your destination drive (your writer) and insert your blank DVD disc.
DVD Decrypter should recognize the blank DVD and compile some information about it.
Tick the ?BURN-Proof? check-box (if applicable). OPTIONAL ? Tick the ?Test Mode? check-box if you wish to perform a test write prior to the actual write.
From the Settings area select ?DVD? as the write mode.
From the Settings area select your write speed.
Then click on the Hard Disk > DVD button at the bottom of the screen.
DVD Decrypter will then start to write the ISO image to your DVD disc.
Once DVD Decrypter has finished writing the ISO image onto your blank DVD disc, it will alert you ?Operation Successfully Completed!?. It will also play a little music sample.
I have done all this and lost three DVDs. I was using blank SONY DVD-R for this.
Am using SONY PS2 9004 which plays both NTSC or PAL.
The last DVD I tried for this, is having no data on it, even Decrypter said Operation Successfully Completed. There is 0 free space on DVD, when I explore dvd there is no data on it!
Tell what to do? help me! How about ALCOHOL 120?
The game am trying to burn is downloaded from net and that ISO image is also there to burn! But am still not successful, The PS2 does not plays it, even it is modded!

you should just let this 5 year old thread die, and start a new one, or better yet, search the forum.
when I burn ps2 games i use IMGBurn or alcohol, both work great. Alcohol even has a PS2 setting.
As for your color issues. Most likely it's the PAL/NTSC difference. I'm guessing you have a chipped ps2, and i'm assuming because you gave no details other than "my ps2 can play both"
If it's chipped try to figure out how to force ntsc, if you're using swap magic, you can force it with that too. you can also look for something called the pal to ntsc patcher with y-fix, it converts pal video settings to ntsc

hmmm
im little noob in searching.
i had few questions -->
1)Can anyone give me a link to a post, which shows a good way to burn PS2 games. Either i will have iso files in Pc, or sometimes i will have the files which are present inside the iso file, but not the iso file. (i am getting lost while searching, just give me some link, and i will be happy :D)
2)My PS2 is modded. I dont know what way it is modded and stuff, so i just wanted to read about different types of modding (so some could please give me another link or post info here :D thanks)
3)I am searching for PS2 games online, and i found that they have NTSC and PAL as well. So what differences does it make? (again a link can be very good)
4)I have a steering wheel for PS2. I wanted to connect to a pc, any ways to do so. Also, i wanted to connect my PS2 to my monitor, (Analogue input), again ways to do that?
5)Can PS2 read a DVD disk, which has a avi video file in it (DivX/XviD format)
6) What is the use of those usb slots in PS2 (slim version, i dont konw the model no.)
I know my requests are quite too much, if u cannot answer all, then answer which u can, i posted my questions in order of priority with first one having the highest.

And if you did a forum search on each of those questions in this forum, you will find the answers.
We also have a sticky section in each of the ps2 sections. You should at least attempt to look at and read first.

If you have an ISO image use Imgburn (Its free)
http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?s=cba...c7&showtopic=61
Use this guide if you have all the files in a folder extracted.
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/197949
Just read from Step 5 on
2)My PS2 is modded. I dont know what way it is modded and stuff, so i just wanted to read about different types of modding (so some could please give me another link or post info here :D thanks)
If its a modchip, the only way to know is too take apart the PS2 and look at the chip on the motherboard.
The only other mods available is the PS1 exploit for FAT PS2, fmcb 1.8 for FAT or Slim
3)I am searching for PS2 games online, and i found that they have NTSC and PAL as well. So what differences does it make? (again a link can be very good)
The differences would be in the playability of the game on the PS2. If you have a modchip it will usually force PAL on NTSC PS2.
If you don't have a modchip, you need to patch the ISO to play correctly. Or you have a PS2 component cable with an HDTV
4)I have a steering wheel for PS2. I wanted to connect to a pc, any ways to do so. Also, i wanted to connect my PS2 to my monitor, (Analogue input), again ways to do that?
You would have to buy a steering wheel for the PS2.
There are adapters made to connect PS2 to monitor. Just do a google search on that.
5)Can PS2 read a DVD disk, which has a avi video file in it (DivX/XviD format)
Not without some sort of Software such as sms player. Again you need to have your PS2 modded in order to use it
http://sksapps.com/sms/en/
6) What is the use of those usb slots in PS2 (slim version, i dont konw the model no.)
The USB slots only will work with Software for the PS2, such as Codebreaker, Armax, USBExtreme. The PS2 will not recognize the USB slots with out some sort of software or mod
I know my requests are quite too much, if u cannot answer all, then answer which u can, i posted my questions in order of priority with first one having the highest.
