Yeah, I know. But thanks! :o)
Most people run out of black first, because that's their only printer, and it's used for everything, including pages of just type. I have an HP all in one (printer, scanner, copier), that I will use, if I need to print out a page of type. The HP is used mainly for scanning. My Epson is used only for dvd covers, and dvd labels, and an occasional photo.
I need to see a label and cover, printed out on that Canon. I can't picture anything printing any better than the Epson "R" series printers...... Need to see it with my own eyes. :o)

Question, Can you just replace one cartidge thats empty or do you have to replace all of them when one goes out?
I saw an R760 (or something like that) at Best Buy awhile back that not only prints on CD's but with flatbed copy & scan too. I forget what the price was....

Can replace each cartridge as it runs out. I use about 1 1/2 black to the rest of the carts.Just got my 2 claim tickets from Epson for $45.00 each so I guess I'll get a R260 this week.I gave up on that law suit thinking I'd never see that money. Merry Christmas All Chris

The 260 according to my research at Epson shows it will also take the 220 340 ink or the new ink carts. I thought I'd know this week but just reread the claim notices and the claims won't be good till after the appeal time has expired, so I'll have to hold on to these codes till I can use them.According to what I read at Epson the new Cartridges are higher capacity and use a more vibrant ink. Just pull up the 260 on the online store and look at specs and see if you come up with the same thing I did. in fact I'm going back there right now to double check. chris
Edit Thank you It's a good thing I went back and checked it doesn't take the same carts. Going off to check for aftermarket Carts.

For those of you looking for cheap ink get a continous ink system from ebay. Look for the ones that fill from the top. I have one for my r200 and I absolutely love it. You can also buy the bulk ink from print-on-a-dime and print-on-a-dime-2. They are pretty cheap.

saugmon- yeah that would be "SWEET as Cartman would say !!!!!" - for those looking for the continuous ink system - Ezinkjets.com has them & I think one of the online retailers have them too possibly cheaper ! Maybe Meritline.com not sure on that point ? I think the continous ink system works out to equal to about 8 cartridge changes - in other words you'd change out cartridges 8 times before you'd have to reload the continous system once ! But with the deal saugmon mentioned 36 cartridges for $36.00 it's probably cheaper given that sale price than to go the continuos route !Though if your really doing alot of volume the continous system may be a better solution long term ! HappY New years !!!!)******(((___((**&*&)

I'm lucky to go through a set in 3 months. It wouldn't pay me to go with the continuous ink system.

PICTURE QUALITY IS GREAT OR ALMOST IDENTICAL IF YOU USE ORIGINAL INK AND A PRINTABLE DISC WITH THE SMOOTH SURFACE ( NOT MATTE ). BEEN USING EPSON FOR YEARS. AFFORDABLE,DISPOSABLE AND GETS THE JOB DONE. IF YOU ARE NOT SO MUCH TO WORRIED ABOUT IDENTICLE PICTURE QUALITY I RECOMMEND GETTING AFTER MARKET INK FROM SUPERMEDIASTORE OR MERITLINE. MUCH CHEAPER OVER TIME. ALSO RECOMMEND PIONEER BURNERS AND PRODISC MEDIA. BUT YOU CAN FIND OTHER MEDIA WITH A SMOOTHER SURFACE. I JUST USE PRODISC FOR RELIABILITY.
STEPS TO BUYING THIS PRINTER.
1.BUY THE AFTERMARKET INK
2. PURCHASE PRINTER WITH WARRANTY ( $20 - $30 EXTRA )FROM THE BIG GUYS,STAPLES, CIRCUIT CIYT, BEST BUY
3. USE ORIGINAL INK FIRST BUT DON'T THROW AWAY THE EMPTY INK CARTRIDGE, SAVE IT FOR WHEN THE PRINTER STARTS ACTING UP, TRUST ME IT WILL IF YOU USE THE CD PRINTER PART CONSTANTLY LIKE I DO.
4. WHEN IT ACTS UP PUT BACK IN ORIGINAL CARTRIDGES, TAKE BACK GET NEW ONE. BAM - GOT YOUR MONEYS WORTH AND HOPEFULLY A NEW PRINTER.
THESE COMPANIES DON'T MAKE MONEY OFF THE PRINTER. IT'S THE INK THAT WILL KILL YOU. UNLESS YOUR DOING PHOTOS, TRY TO BUY AFTERMARKET AN INK THAT WILL WORK FOR YOU.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL

As an owner of both a 340 & 220 agree with rick5446 save your money and buy the 220 theres no difference in quality in my own opinion and the saved money will buy you a couple of rounds of replacement cartridges. Chris

Quick Question..I bought the R300 when it first came out[200bucks]..About 3mons after I bought it the DVD Tray would hang..you could give it a nudge[push]& it would start to roll & print. So called Epson..They sent me another printer 2days later same thing..So I've lived with this ever since..Anyway do the newer printers do this,or has Epson corrected this problem
I think I'm at a point where I might need another printer..Recently its started to do strange things ! Shots out the back like a bullet & other times the DVD tray will go past the drop down guides & flip it up & hang
Both are minor problems in my mind, but none the less they are problems.Eventualy they will turn out to be major problems

Mine does the same thing at the beginning of the template trying to feed into the printer, and also-at the end of the printing process,I have to pull it out manually or I'll get an error. I gotta baby that template, but she still prints beautifully!
She's making more noises while I baby that template in and out of her.
Mine was launched by my Ex-Wife a year and a half ago so there has been some harsh abuse against my R-200.The main eject tray is also broken.
Staple's had the R-240 on sale for $80 in my locale. I'm holding out for the $50 clearance price like I got my dad's R-220 last year.

I am new to this forum approach to getting answers so here goes.
I am using a Epson R200 and Epson Print CD software to print my CD and DVD's. Does anyone know how to set a template up for mini DVD or Business card CD's?

You should have gotten another insert template to fit inside your plastic slide tray. It's the same thickness as a reg disc.
I haven't used mini dvd's,but I just sacraficed blank cd for you. Here's how I would do it-you have to measure the printable surface of the disc:
Open up espson print cd.
Click on the yellow disc icon and lower the outer target to 80,depending how exactly wide your mini discs are. You'll have to measure your blank inkjet printable discs.I measured my template and 80 should get you close, maybe even a hair lower like 78.
Outer Setting: Take a milli-stick/tape measure, using the millimeter side. Measure the white printable face- from the outer edge to opposite outer edge-which you'd get the widest reading, that should get you close:
Example: Reg cd/dvd is 119 mms wide,so I use 119 as my setting. My test print looked like 80 would be very close.
Inner Setting:
Measure just like you did your outside-but do it for the inner part of the printable surface-which is closest to the hole. Measure from the inner most of the white, through the hole,up to the opposite side of the white printable surface and that should be your setting:
Example: Full hub-which prints right up to the center hole: 20 mms. Reg hub, which is further away from the inner circle, should be around 40 mms.
Your's should be inbetween 20 and 40 mms. After the setting change, make sure you click OK.
My inner looked perfect on my test cd.
Now when you open up print cd,locate your picture, the size template screen pops up. It looks like it's made for a reg size disc, but ignore what that looks like. As long as your outer is around 80 and figuring out what the inner should be,you should be good to go.

Let me know how it goes. You are the 1st person that I have seen that asked that question.I'm surprised I haven't seen anything about inkjet printable mini cd/dvds around here.
I'm curious about that inner hub measurement.
