If you are talking about the wiiky update refered to on thier website being around the 15th of may, then you are totally and utterly wrong. it is more then a disc update, it is a firmware update for the chip. You should do a little search on the forum or google. They are fixing some audio issues as well as a supposed backup game to sd card feature.

2. is this 15th of may update just a disc update or a whole new chip?

Thats the question, I said a disc. So i am 100% utterly wrong according to you. So you are saying, when they post the new update on the web site, we will have to open our wii's desolder the chip. Then we will have to install the downloaded chip from the web site, (dont ask me how they will allow us to download a physical object, willy wonka style maybe?) and resolder it in. I mean, after all if you are saying I am wrong, then you are saying its a new chip.. because thats the question I was answering. It is a disc upgrade. That's all there is to it. Whether the disc updates firmware or not, its still a disc upgrade. So, before you send me to search google, and this forum, you need to have your eyes search the posts, before typing. Read first, before making an ass of yourself.

Well, its 17th from where i stand. No update, no news, no announcement, no date pull back, no nothing. They act as little children. Ignore itr and maybe it'll go away ??

Professionals move ETA's BEFORE it's actually ETA's day. I.e. they had to announce at least several days before that ETA will not be met and set a new ETA, so, dont go telling me that 20th is "around" 15th. They fucked up their own PR... I start to wonder if i did a right thing by buying wiikey if this is their attitiude towards threir customers... "ignore them and maybe they'll go away" ???

Give us some goddamn news already, would ya ?

Actually, no , I didnt edit the post you were referring to you in your comments against me after you posted, I edited the post I made after that, which was saying that no, I was in fact right, and you were wrong for making an assumption without fully reading. I edited that post many times for one reason: I had to word what I was saying to you better. Each time, a little more calmly than the last.

That post, which you said I edited after you posted, was never edited once. That is the post you were saying I was "utterly wrong" about and needed to do some searching on google and the forums. This post was being edited here to show the post you say I edited, yet I never did.

Sorry guess you didn't, you just essentially reposted the same thing again, I misread. But seriously though, your post was taken out of context by me, I did not realize that within your original statement was an answer to a poorly(IMO) worded question.

Thats all you had to say. Anyhow, I reposted what I said before, because I had to explain how I was not wrong.

I just hope that they put out the update soon, or at least let us know something. I think we all can agree on that.

Well that I will agree on, although I am not so sure why. I have yet to run into any of the problems, as I dont have access to out of region games. Nor do I have any of the GC games they talk of. I think for me its moreover because they said that they would release it, and as such, its a matter of faith in the company. However, still, them saying "around the 15th" gives them leniency for like a week. Kind of like if your friend gives you a time "ill be over around 5 sometime" and he shows up at 6 you cant really get all too upset. Actually, I think what I want the most from this update, is the new stuff that would be in GCOS, for the new multi-game gc discs.

without much info we don't want to assume anything. They said "around" 15th. Let's not get all hot and bothered over this and lets not start name calling each other out of frustration. It will come when it comes. I don't want some beta update anyway. I'll wait as long as it takes for them to release a solid update. I'm happy with my wiikey right now anyway and I would hardly call them hotdog sellers. They make a solid product.

I likely would not care either, except that the day I took my wii to the modder, I half way through one of the funest and deepest games I have ever played, Eternal Darkness......got home went to load it up and it does not work. One of the few games that do not. My GF was so mad, she loves watching me play video games and keeps nagging me to 'fix' it. =)

Well, usually you dont pay your "friend" to show up on time, do you ? :D Do you like it when you have a net outage and customer service says that they "will fix it till 8 tonight. MAYBE." Normally you'd be hacked at them to bits... :D

No worries. So far i dont have problems with my wiikey anyways...

And if they dont have any respect for customers, could we expect they have done a good job on this update or will our Wii just brick and Wikkey leader just said : "oh sorry it wasn't our fault"

who gives a rabbits ass if there is an update on the site on the date they said it would be there, either around or approximately. All the consoles i have owned there has never been the opportunity to update the firmware to improve the chip. it was a case of if it stopped working with the newer games - well tough - buy a newer chip. at least at some point we have the ability to upgrade the chip - for FREE.
oh it doesnt work 100% with backwardly compatible games like gamecube, most consoles dont anyways. boo hoo did u buy the wii to play wii games?, playing gc games is a bonus. PAL ps3 owners will be pissed royally that sony have removed the dedicated ps2 chip out of the ps3 and replaced it with emulation software as it lowers the number of games that are compatible but they have realised there is no use bitching about it. No they look forward to the new games - life moves on - i used to love match day 2 on the spectrum, however i dont miss it when i am playing pro evolution nice memories but life goes on.

if i was a wiikey firmware writer i would delay it even longer just to teach you a lesson :) Not as if they can't read all your comments is it?

I buy a chip to play import games and this shit doesn't. So I wait for few weeks and hope a firmware upgrade could solve the problem. Yes a PROBLEM. All chips on all console allow region-free but this shit doesn't.
If you were wiikey firmware writter you would return to school to learn professionalism and customer respect.

That is why we as consumers have the right(in america at least(my GF is from a communist country and they really didn't have options like going with another company)to go with a company that has better business ethics. My next chip likely will not be a wiikey cause of these delays. They never once mentioned on their website that there were audio issues, had they I would have not gotten the chip, or I would have waited to install it. I just bought a used gamecube today so that I could finish my game. I cant wait any longer. I will ebay it when I am done beating the game, but I did not want to have to go through all of that to begin with. The wiikey team has been promising an update for a very long time and has yet to deliver.

If you worked at my company and they discovered you were delaying some code cause your clients needed it(and were pissed).....you would get fired, but I doubt you have any sort of position of that sort.
