Greetzzz..
Your're right!! I suggest you to be patient and wait for firmware 5.32 released in March 2009 instead of this one.. I'm sure that will be plenty of good things.

If you have the Fire Emblem game disc download it off the net and patch that ISO.

I doubt the update will fix the region issue for Wii games. If their was a fix for it other Modchips and program patches would more then likely fix the issue as well.

to reply to the dude that said he would delay it if he were a firmware guy at wiikey, would be a mistake which would result in the chip falling behind standard and other chips getting better which means you lose business.
and about the "around 15th" update, at least they could post on the site now and say there's been a delay, will only take a second to do.
do you guys think that there's a chance that this update can solve the bricked wii problem, which is caused by playing paper mario and other odd games?
I have no problems with papermario with my wii-key? U may have a bad dump. I had a bad dump with the godfather wii game that froze and blocked.

The update won't fix the brick Wii problem. Even if Wiikey did find a way to do it I'd bet they would put out a Second Generation Modchip for this. (As far as I know there is no fix for the brick issue at this time but it is being worked on)
On another note it would be cool if they could come out with some sort of security that overrides a Wii gamedisc from installing an out of region update. This would prevent Wii owners from updating the disc with wrong firmware and preventing the brick.
In anycase all you need to do is keep your Wii up to date with the newest Wii firmware so the Gamedisc doesn't have a chance to install the update and brick the system with wrong region firmware.

Quote: I think they have some problems when testing the update and they don't know how important is the problem so they dont have any idea on when they could release it.
As I said, they REALLY don't know when. The big mistake I've ever made is to buy this chip...

Wah, the biggest mistake i ever made was buy this chip. Im serious, i hate it, they wont update it ever! This was the biggest mistake because they will never give me that update! Sure, my chip works perfectly now, and allows me to play all the backups I have, but this update is the most important thing ever! Huge mistake!

So ? Nobody is keeping you from buying another chip ? I bet they are as reliable as wiikey for now. You never know, maybe guys at wiikey really developing tools to make future updates faster, eh ? then what ? you'll be stuck with "another" chip that may be not ubdated as frequently as you'd like...
I wish it was as easy as PS1 or PS2. My ps2 slim after shipped in 2004 never needed any updates, but this is next gen we're talking about...

I was being sarcastic. All these people complaining and yet the chip still works, still plays backups, etc.

Are you serious? You curse the chip and in the same breath say that it's working perfectly. You don't even know what the update is going to do and you say that this is the most important thing ever! Calm down! The chip is working fine. They'll release an update when it's ready. You don't need it right now anyway. Sheeesh

The chip DOES NOT work fine. It does not play GC games with audio streaming (the wikey team said the chip does out-of-the-box) meaning that die-hard Naruto and eternal darkness fans can't play the games they had on the GC.
The biggest mistake for me was not getting the chip, but selling my Gamecube on eBay. If I still had it, I could still play Naruto GNT 4.
But Naruto GNT EX would be nice too...

DUDE read the post right above yours... .I was being sarcastic cuz thats what most of these people are basically saying. They are just bitching about an update, that probably wont even do anything for them.

I was quoting DraTs where he said it worked perfectly for him! He didn't say anything about any GC games.

Well, here's the scoop - some of us never owned GC, so it is pretty important. And wii library is rubbish at the time anyways, so...
I am an old wolf when it comes to modding scene, but someone who just got in they know squat about ways to run games, modify iso's, patch stuff etc... So, i consider GC issue a serious one. And as i was saying earlier i can live with what i have now but i like when people deliver on their promises...hence a bit of bitching... :D

thats enough out of you larry! LOL.
It's nothing new. There are a couple of GC games that the wiikey doesn't play and that hasn't changed since day one. People are just crying because they haven't released an update yet that promises NOTHING anyway.
