What's the easiest method of backing up a save from an original NDS Cart. I'd like to keep my save game on Brain Training and transfer it over to my M3 Real but unsure. I've looked around but it seems like I need a slot 2 device to boot m3 or something. Basically I'm clueless.
I have slot 1 M3 Real
Slot 2 GBA
Slot 2 Rumble
Is there anyway to do it?

You can by perfectly legal backup tools from places like asda.
Action replay have made one or two and I bought the DUO which is a slot-2 and it didn't work very well.
I reccommend XPloders bakcup device because you put the USB into the usb port and then put the Cartridge in a hole at the other end of the USB port so it isn't a slot-2. It doesn't even need a DS because it's straight into the computer. It's called cheat saves... they trick people into thinking it's a cheat device rather than a backup medium and sell it in places like argos where you have like ten word descriptions.

Open the NDS menu and press start
Choose the folder in which your games are
Press A twice
Select rom
Play
... This has been mentioned before but I don't know if you have tried it.

You obviously didn't read this entire thread...
That is less a problem and more of an ignorance on your part because most here knew or have learnt that the DS only plays certain formats... the most common of which being .dpg.
Go and download moonshell which comes with a free movie converter and then turn your realplayer videos into a .dpg.

The M3 factory have now released the DS iTouch, with an improved GUI that supports the touchscreen, faster loading and better ROM support. I can highly reccomend it

The iTouch has been out for a while, it is a 'budget' card, although the GUI is an improvement compared to the M3 Real, the M3 Real will soon be getting the Sakura firmware which will be a vast improvement.
The Japanese version of Sakura has been released and has had some English translations done. The official English Sakura should be released soon.

Sorry if this has been mentioned or it sounds dumb, but i can't get
the moonshell 171 dpgenc exe to convert my realplayer videos for me.
I left the realplayer videos in my 'movies' folder on my sd. i dragged
a video from there on to the dpgence window where it says 'please drag
and drop the movie file(s). please never drop the format that cannot
correspond' when i right click a certain video and click properties i know that that the video format is .flv and the type of file is flash
video. i then drag the video onto the dpgence window, i wait for a
while, a cross icon appears and says 'the audio stream was not to be aquired. Please try by another method.H:\Movies\YouTube-and the video name and format.' am i doing something wrong??? can anyone please help me??? i also tried downloading GBalpha NDS movie converter and when i tried to click on add then 'movies' on my sd card and there was nothing there. I then clicked on the arrow next types of file and clicked on all files, my realplayer videos showed up. i tried clicking on a video and open and this is what it said, cannot add the file-and the name of my video and the format(flv), either this file is not valid or the Converter does not support the file format'
Help me anyone...

Hi.
I just got my M3 REAL. I tried sticking it into the DS right away, and I got some black screen that said something along the lines that the system software was missing.
I found this thread via google and decided to try and set up the chip with the advice here. I formatted the memory chip using Disk Utility on mac, with a FAT32 filesystem, and downloaded and installed the system software you linked to.
Now when I start it up i just get the regular Nintendo DS screen with "no DS card inserted". Can it be that the Disk Utillity formatting fucked up the chip? Any other Ideas on how I might get it working again?

Format the card again and re-install the system folder. Try blowing on the cartridge and into the DS SLOT-1 hole.

Thanks mr hanky, i tried what u said and i even downloaded and
installed ffdshow and the gabest flash video splitter.
All my real player videos were converted into windows media player
videos(still a flash video though). i then opened up gpenc exe
and dragged the videos on the window, a few seconds later it says
that the audio stream could not be aquired and to try another
method. can anyone help me with my video problem?

How do you actually copy a NDS Cartridge for use with M3. I've been trying to look-up the information but with little luck. Couldn't find anything on making a clean rom dump or anything related to backuping your cartridges.

Backup, Format, replace everything (use a system folder you know works). If this doesn't work then it must be a faulty card, order a replacement.

Depending where you downloaded from some places zip the files twice, so you need to extract the file, then extract that file to get to the .nds
Also make sure you're using the latest firmware.

davos mr.hanky is right, if you get your files from NDash they zip the file and then they zip that with a bunch of readme's and assorted images. I realise now that this method isn't user freindly.
