We have only just acquire the DS Real and the kids are very pelased with it. They would like to some games which only seem to be *.RAR files and not *.NDS Could someone explain what we have to do differently to be able to use the files or can we not use the files?

for once a question i can answer

.ra files are zipped files like winzip, but you need to download a prog called winrar to unzip them

you will end up with a .nds file to use as normal

cheers

Hi

I have been trying to follow your guide for the last 2 hours, thought I had it sussed but, no, what am I doing wrong????

downloaded system stuff and transferred it onto card. I opened a file and called it NDS next to my system folder/ and also in the system folder, but neither seems to work. You mention putting this folder in the root of the card what and wheres the root????

I am really not very good with stuff like this, but was recommended I buy a M3 DS real and now my kids keep pestering me to do something with it.

Thanks Julie

right for the m3ds real all you need to do is first get the latest system folder from here - System V3.9a X (Europe/USA) - http://www.handheldsources.com/M3DS/Download_M3DSR.html

once downloaded unrar it and copy the SYSTEM folder to your memory card .

next create a folder on your memory card and name it NDS .

you can now put any unrared .nds roms in the NDS folder and thats it job done .

you should now be able to go to the menu of the m3ds real and play your games .

woof811.

ps. i wasnt shouting when i used the caps lock its just the way the folders must be named on your memory card in capitals , any probs let me know .

OR you could all look at that woof's signature and go Download M3Sakura which solves a lot of problems.

link for m3ds real sakura ( english ) from gbatemp - http://gbatemp.net/index.php?download=2553

simply copy the SYSTEM folder to your memory card and enjoy m3sakura courtesy of gbatemp :o)

its a lot faster than the standard m3ds real firmware !

How many games can one put on a 2gb micro SD with M3 real?
The reason I'm asking is because I have about 8 games on the card
but only 7 shows up, in the M3 Real game manager. Also when I check
the size of the NDS in windows It's smaller than the size of the game
on the M3 Real game manager.

I have problems with the last system verison (3.9a)
I did the normal process, copy the system to the micro SD.
But, when I try to use, the menu is in blank, I can't use it.

someone know how to fix it?

Hi

Thanks everyone for your assistance, The problem was that when you put card in DS the menu is blank, see someone else is having the same problem!!!

My solution :After inserting the sd into the ds console - Instead of going into the menu suggested I went into FILES and then into the SYSTEM file and hey presto there they were the games!!!!

I am probably doing it all wrong, but the games are being played and the kids are happy, so happy holidays.....

Hi again

just double checked, as soon as you put sd in console 7 pictures come up on screen go to the third one that looks like a file/folder.

form there go into system folder/file, then scroll down to NDS folder/file and games are there.

Thanks again

if you having some trouble with the standard m3ds real firmware then have a try at m3ds real sakura , in my opinion its much better looking and a lot faster .

link - http://gbatemp.net/index.php?download=2553

just copy the SYSTEM folder to your memory card and thats it your good to go !

Where is your card from?
Japanese cards use the Japanese firmware and english cards use the 'hacked' firmware.
Make sure you have the right one for your card as I'm not sure about foreign cards (mexican, spanish etc.)

Hi there!

I recently bought a 4GB MicroSDHC so I can put more games than my 2GB. However, when I place my new 4GB into one of my many readers and into my computer, it does not seems to read. The reading device was able to be read by the computer, but not the card.

I've used a my USB Reader, SD Reader, and Multi-Card Reader for this and it's not reading my new card. I've tried 4 different computers (Windows XP) and my MacBook Pro and it's not reading. When I tried my card for the first time, it read on my boyfriend's Vista.

I don't have the Kingston's 4GB, but if that has good reviews on their 4GB working on an M3 Real, then, maybe I should return my new card and purchase the Kingston. Opinions?

Have any of you had these problems before? If so, what can I do to fix this?

4gb cards are sdhc(high capacity)and require a sdhc card reader, check to see if your readers are sdhc compatable, or buy asdhc readr.
