you dont have to download anything,DVD Decrypter will do all the basics
look for a pioneer 110 or an nec 3520,(may have been updated)
they are cheap but excellent burners

I'm a newbie at all this.
I've got a ps2 flip top with the infinity matrix v1.39 modchip.
The imported games DO work on the ps2 (the mass produced type of dvd) but when I try to do my own backup's, it says 'please insert ps2 format disk'... it won't even recognise the game. I've followed instructions from the forum and used DVD Decrypter method, Alcohol 120% etc. I've also tried burning at the lowest possible speed but it doesnt work!
I'm using DVD+R TDK 4x disks, burning at 4X or lower.
If I were to upgrade infinity to the newest firmware, would this solve my problem?? Does the type/brand of disk make a difference?
please help

most of the time if you have a game that's 4.7gb all you have to do is use dvd decpyter and extrack your iso to you computer importent as a iso fle you can find info on how to use dvd decpyter so i wount go in to to much deteal what that but some games that are 4.7gb you have to use iso duster for some reason i'm not sure but if you can use dvd decpyter all you have to do is extrack your iso and write your iso back a u should have a working back.

@CoreyMan
whether aol block spam or not,posting emails is against the forum rules :),so you need to remove,before a mod does(with warning)
as above,download dvd decrypter(free) to copy ps2 games

Yes i would advise against that also as it is piracy and not allowed on Afterdawn. :)
What method do you use with alcohol for ps2 games?

Use good media (Verbitam), not cheap, crap, often unbranded stuff!
And I recommend burning at 4x for the best results!

To do a 1:1 copy go to MODE>ISO>READ then select where you want it to go on your harddrive then decrypt it then put in a blank dvd and go MODE>ISO>WRITE select the file and speed and away you go :)
