..my compy had an odd ip setting, as I used that for torrenting before.
Since I don't use torrents anyways, I set that to auto-obtain.
I've given my wifi connector the ip 192.168.1.1, subnet mask 255.255.255.0.
It is connected to my network, and receiving packets.
My DS has been set up with the ip 192.168.1.2, subnet mask 255.255.255.0
Gateway and primary DNS: 192.168.1.1
SSID and WEP have been set, and I know they're correct.
But, its' still not picking up the WiFi signal. ..no matter what I do.
It's as if the connector isn't even broadcasting a signal.

Your ssid should be disabled and no wep key and you should be fine just follow this setup...
Under The Asus WLAN Card Setting
Click on Config on the left side.
Basic Tab:
Network Type:Infrastructure
Network Name:default
Channel : 1
Encryption Tab:
Network Authentication: Open
Data Encrption: Disabled
Soft AP Tab:
Check The Soft AP Mode
Check To Enable The ICS
Access Control Tab:
Access Control Policy: Accept
Access Control List: This is were you input your mac address of your DS found under Nintendo WFC Settings,Options,System Information there you'll find your Mac Address 00-00-00-00-00-00 eg. Just note this is were you would input additional hardware addresses as well ( PSP, Laptop Eg.). Then of course you click add. Now you'll see that same address under the list of Mac Addresses Allowed To Be On The Network.
Now go back to the basic tab and click on advanced make sure under the 54g Mode its 802.11b only. All the other settings should not to be touched.But if you want to know here's what mine are set to.
RTS Threshold: 2347
Fragmentation Threshold: 2347
Preamble Mode: Long
Frame Bursting: Disabled
54g Mode: 802.11b only
54g Protection: Auto
Use Short Slot Time: Disabled
Important after making any adjustments to click on OK on the bottom left before closing tab.
Ok try your DS by going into nintendo WFC, then nintendo WFC Settings,Nintendo WiFi Connectin Settings. Erase all previous settings. Now pick a connection 1,2 or 3 now search for access point, after a few moments it should come up with a screen showing a default connection thats unlocked and a signal, Click OK. It will show a new Connection 2 Settings screen press OK again and it will set up your DS connection for you. After its done it should say connection successful and then go back to the Connection setup screen. Now just back out and your ready to Play. If you wanted to go into the connection setup screen again ,you'll see that the connection you choose has changed the erase settings to yellow from white meaning its saved. Now Go Have Fun !!!!

Ugh.
I followed that to a T.
..still no access point.
It's connected, and sending packets, but my DS just won't pick it up.

If your manully searching with the ds don't let it do this by it self and your connector ip is 192.168.1.1 change this to 192.168.0.1 give this a try and make sure your ssid is set to default and no wep. Then let your DS search in the auto mode and it should work.
WD. Remember to disable the ssid

Again, same thing.
Anyway I search, manually or with the "Search for and Access Point" button. ..no point is found.
I've tried with SSID, without, WEP, no WEP.. nothing will pick it up!
And, when trying manually, I get an error 51300.
Like I said, it's as if there's no WiFi signal even being broadcast from it.
[edit] I just picked up my neighbor's wifi signal.. That was all that came up, even though mine said it was connected. So, this means there's a problem here. ..why isn't it broadcasting? Or if it is, why can't it be picked up?

Ok the problem is back at the start at the network connections. I think that you haven't over writen one of the drivers in the first steps. Just have a look to see if perhaps you have a double meaning one being the same with 1 or something after... This has to be the problem as your wifi connection should come up as being wireless network connection Buffalo then the #

Hmm..
I'll check around, but I know I copied the driver over to my System32/Driver folder.
[edit]I've uninstalled the ASUS and the driver, to start over.
I watched the video again, to make sure I'm doing it right.
I'm doing everything perfect. Setting it all up correctly, as shown in the video.
But there's one difference; when my network connections window pops back up after setting the SoftAP mode.. there's no wireless connection created like the video shows.
I just have my main connection, and the connector.. no wireless, nothin'.
I'm pretty sure this is the problem, is it not?

I tried doing this thing again from scratch and I followed the video this time. When I get to around 5:23, when you enable ICS from Network Connections, I get an error (which you don't get in the video) as soon as I click OK:
"When Internet Connection Sharing is enabled, your LAN adapter will be set to use IP address 192.168.0.1. Your computer may lose connectivity with other computers on the network. If these other computers have static IP addresses, you should set them to obtain their IP addresses automatically. Are you sure you want to enable Internet Connection Sharing?"
and after some waiting after hitting Yes:
"Internet Connection Sharing cannot be enabled. A LAN connection is already configured with the IP address that is required for automatic IP addressing."
This computer does not connect directly to the Internet, but to another computer on the LAN which has a LAN IP of 192.168.0.1, and that one connects to the Internet. Do I have to change that IP to 192.168.0.somethingelse or what?

Just look back a few posts and you'll see how to set this up.
And yes change the address from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.1.1 and this should help you if not try 192.168.1.2 good luck.

OK, I tried changing that other computer's IP to 192.168.0.10 and then tried enabling ICS on this computer again, but it's still giving me the same error. It still thinks that there's a computer with 192.168.0.1 but if I try pinging that address I get no response.
WD, I took some screenshots of my network setup and recorded down what all the IPs and stuff are, I can PM them to you if it's easier to understand.

i need some help, my ds picks up the signal but i can't connect. When i try to connect, the box in the top right corner is green then after a few seconds it turns red and the connection fails.

Go ahead and pm them to me and I'll have a look but in the mean time don't change the computers ip but instead do this to the connectors ip

I got the Nintendo USB Wifi, I connected it and followed steps 1-2-3 when i get to the third step I get a problem I try to run the program and it states that there is no wireless lan card connected, but the USB Wifi is attached to my system, any ideas why I am not allowed to use the program?
I installed the program first, then copied the r...something.something to the system32/drivers folder, then installed thw WIFI usb adapter, when i open the program it tells me to use the program to configure the network but then it states that there is no lan card installed, I am stuck here, cant help it, can someone help me with this?

I was able to get the software working the WIFI adapter to update, but when it comes to reverting to Spot it will still recognized as wireless internet, as receiving not transmitting, when I try to repair the connection I get a blue screen 0x7E well thats as much as I can get I even followed the video, any ideas?

Is the usb connector blinking, if not you'll have to enable it in device manager

It is blinking. By remove all nintendo software you mean uninstall + delete?

Its funny, I used to have a second connection that shared with my sister PC, now it is no longer working, I try to enable it and no go... so I am pretty much guessing I had a registry error and that is whyits no longer working... any ideas other than reinstalling windows?

It seems to be an ip address problem. Your connection with your usb and the PC are probly trying to share the same ip. Change the ip address of your usb to something else eg. 192.168.1.1 by changing the last 2 values your PC connection should work. eg 0.1,1.1,1.2 just a few eg. for you to try. Find out what the pc ip is and change the usb to one of the eg. Good luck

Have you got the usb connector working?
What I would do is just go back and reconfigure the connection with the other PC and see if this helps and heres another thing, maybe its not your PC but the other one. What are you using to share the connection ( pc to pc )
