DISREGARD Last Post.
I fixed it by going to ASUS WLAN Card Settings, under config, SoftAP,
by checking the box for Enable ICS.
New problem.
I got ot test my connection on my DS, and it has full signal strength, and then error pops up saying "unable to connect to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Confirm Connecton settings and acesspoint settings."
Uhm the settings for my ds is-
SSID: 19574
WEP Key: **********
Auto-obtain IP Adress: NO
IP Address: 192.168.1.2
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1
Auto-Obtain DNS: NO
Primary: 192.168.1.1
Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0
Anything wrong?
I also noticed that under my wireless connection its only sending packets and not receiving any from my ds.
New to froums in general.
All I use or read them for is help.

Follow this set up
Under The Asus WLAN Card Setting
Click on Config on the left side.
Basic Tab:
Network Type:Infrastructure
Network Name:default
Channel : 1
Encryption Tab:
Network Authentication: Open
Data Encrption: Disabled
Soft AP Tab:
Check The Soft AP Mode
Check To Enable The ICS
Access Control Tab:
Access Control Policy: Accept
Access Control List: This is were you input your mac address of your DS found under Nintendo WFC Settings,Options,System Information there you'll find your Mac Address 00-00-00-00-00-00 eg. Just note this is were you would input additional hardware addresses as well ( PSP, Laptop Eg.). Then of course you click add. Now you'll see that same address under the list of Mac Addresses Allowed To Be On The Network.
Now go back to the basic tab and click on advanced make sure under the 54g Mode its 802.11b only. All the other settings should not to be touched. But if you want to know here's what mine are set to.
RTS Threshold: 2347
Fragmentation Threshold: 2347
Preamble Mode: Long
Frame Bursting: Disabled
54g Mode: 802.11b only
54g Protection: Auto
Use Short Slot Time: Disabled
Important after making any adjustments to click on OK on the bottom left before closing tab.
Ok try your DS by going into nintendo WFC, then nintendo WFC Settings,Nintendo WiFi Connectin Settings. Erase all previous settings. Now pick a connection 1,2 or 3 now search for access point, after a few moments it should come up with a screen showing a default connection thats unlocked and a signal, Click OK. It will show a new Connection 2 Settings screen press OK again and it will set up your DS connection for you. After its done it should say connection successful and then go back to the Connection setup screen. Now just back out and your ready to Play. If you wanted to go into the connection setup screen again ,you'll see that the connection you choose has changed the erase settings to yellow from white meaning its saved. Now Go Have Fun !!!!
Any problems I'll try to help you figure it out.

Hey cheers for that.....I am sure it will be very helpful....except two things I have noticed on the ASUS application.... First of all, while I am in infrastructure mode, the channel defaults to auto...only in ad hoc can I select 1.
Secondly, and I am willing to sound completely ignorant for this....where on earth is the "Access control Tab" supposed to be? I found the advanced tab, but I suspect without doing the first steps this will be of little use......
so, please.....again!
thanks for the help though...seriously.

the device manager is just seeing these as two seperate devices
Without installing the new drivers you've got from ralink go back and reinstall the proper ones as indicated, now that you have uninstalled the nintendo drivers and software all should be well
same thing. install the drivers but only the two network adapter makes that are already on my pc; eicon and microsoft
so far i can only get the buffalo one on when i get the xp64 drivers from the ralink site, but when i install that it says there no device, doesn't see the nintendo connector as the same thing at all
is it possible as this is a recent one that some maybe aren't using the rt2500 chipset? just a thought

Can you do a screen shot video so I can see whats going on, and the drivers that came with the download should work unless you had vista then you would be out of luck

there's the link to the video for wdclean
i think it misses when i right-click the driver and hit install, but i chose a low frame rate cos i didn't wanna bloat the size
i was gonna show how installing the newer drivers shows the buffalo cards but sees them seperate to the wifi adapter, but for some reason when i uninstall these from device manager it kills my internet. pinging external sites works out, browsing the LAN works fine, but browsers wont work even on my router pages till i do a system restore, which is a pain!! and i dont think it's too important anyway

Your not following the instuctions as in step 2. Yes you have the drivers installed but don't let windows try to install. Move on to step 3 and install the program also in the nin_wifi_Fullpack

same thing as before, installngi the asus stuff just leaves it saying there's no wireless card so the asus utility can't start
elaborate on step 1 maybe, how do i install these drivers? manually pointing to them from found new hardware says they're not compatible, check they're designed for xp 64, yet everyone says it should be fine for 64

Hey, I'm new to these forums :)
For everyone trying to connect the Wii to the USB adapter, I wanted to show the configuration that actually worked for me. After tinkering with the settings and reinstalling, etc., I've finally gotten the adapter to work with the Wii console.
Here are my settings:
SSID: Ren (I didn't hide it, so I'm not sure if it will work if it's hidden)
Channel: 1 (If your Wii has trouble detecting the adapter, try either 6 or 11)
54g Mode: 802.11b only
Network Authentication: Open (won't work as shared)
As far as the Wii console goes, I was able to just detect the access point. No need for manual setup unless you have your connection encrypted or your SSID hidden.
Hope this helps!

Ive got the connection set up on my XP PC and the connection is made. It says its connected and has a strong signal. My new PC, running Vista, is only a few feet away with an antenna and its picking up the signal and full strength but when I go to connect it doesnt work and there is no explanation.
Any idea?
