I also get a weird error message when I open up the ASUS WLAN Card Settings program:
"ASUS WLAN Card Settings"
"Currently, Internet connection sharing is enabled. But "Wireless Network Connection (BUFFALO WLI-U2-KG54-YB Wireless LAN Adapter)" is not in home network. Please modify the settings."
Hehehe

I miss something here? :(
Sounds like your on the right track, have you inputed your DS's mac address under the access control menu?
Yes I did, didn't include that in the video, Access Control List is set for Accept.
I'm not sure of the setup your using but if you could fill in the blanks should help me find your problem. eg. router, etc...

I believe all the other information that you may want is not something I exactly wanna post (don't know, never been a fan of this whole router/IP address business :P) If you want I can send you screenshots of my router config or do another movie with all that info in there.
BTW I did both steps with trying to connect, manually trying to connect I get the Error Code: 52102. When I try "Search for Access Point", I do get the "default" thing showing with the unlocked lock. I click OK and then get Error Code: 52000:
"Unable to obtain an IP address. Move within range of the access point or check DHCP settings. For Help, visit www.nintendo.com"

Heres something quick to try as I'm going out, Your router is not likely broadcasting your ssid and blocking the ds from obtaining. Simply let your router broadcast this untill the ds connects and then you can go back and turn it back off. After that the router will connect with the ds.( this will work if your connecting wireless if not your trying to connect to the wrong point and should start over and connect to your computer. I'll check back later, hope you can follow what I'm trying to say. If your router is wireless then forget the wifi connector and connect to the router if not then go though your computer as the access point.
WD.

It is a wired router, so you want me to do the "Search for Access point" When default is found and I accept and turn off my router? I'm not sure I follow, sorry :(

All right you have a wired router. This tells me a lot go back and follow the setup I posted for you earlier and make sure to follow the ip address in the wifi card internet protocol properties. (eg. 192.168.0.1). See you don't want to connect to the router but your access point via the computer. Hope this helps

ok....im really sorry but I need a lot of help with this thing...
ok, first off, do I use the WiFi USB disc installer at all?
and I have probelms with steps 1 and 2
1: what are the drivers you delete?
2: where do you install the drivers?
and finally...in the video, it said he had some kinda Buffalo wireless USB thingie....do I need to buy that or something? cause im not paying extra money to do this....
I should also add that when I hook up the WiFi USB and try to install the modified drivers, I pick the folders where they are, it goes through some stuff and then it comes up with something like "the file rt20usbap.sys needs CD to read" and then it gives me the option to browse for the same file and the I have to click ok, I just keep clicking ok and the same message keeps showing up!!!....so what do I do about that?

Yea I get that much, the computer acts as the staging ground for wifi.
Went to my wifi usb settings under Internet Prorocol and typed in:
192.168.0.1 (this diconnected me from the internet)
192.168.1.1 (nothing)
192.168.1.2 (nothing)
Everything again is fine on the DS when I "Search" for access point until I get to testing connection. I'm sorry for this being so long :(

and I still get the message asking for rt20usbap when installing those new drivers to the usb.......
EDIT: ok, I think all I need help with is getting the new drivers to install properly without asking for rt20usbap and rt25usbap....

Not running a WEP on my router, SSID is the name for a wireless network right? Wired router, so I think its running by default. I don't have options in my router setup for WEP or SSID.

Go back to were you had the green bar settings and try adjusting your firewall settings ?....Then if this dosen't work try the connection with out the router and see if this works then at least we'll know if maybe the tweaking should be done with the router, which seems to be the problem. I'll try and come up with something
WD.

Alright, I took my connection from my computer and plugged it into the cable box itself (no router). I then went to the ASUS WLAN Control Center > Soft AP tab and dropped in the internet connection, checked ICS and applied. After a few moments NO ERROR MESSAGE. I got on my DS and searched for access point. I got connected. Played my DS online!!
However, hooking back up the router I was unable to go online, my wifi usb had set itself for 192.168.0.1. Which apparently disconnects me lol. In any case it worked perfectly without the router. :(

Maybe let windows create your internet connection with the router again. Or input the ip address under internet protocal in your local network to 192.168.0.1 and then have the usb be 192.168.0.2, 192.168.1.1 I'm sure you get what I'm saying. I think whats happening is there both trying to connect to the same ip and thats why its not working so maybe by manualy doing the setup for the routers ip it may just work. Good luck.

I input 192.168.0.1 as my local network and I got this message (plus dq-ed me from the internet)
"Microsoft TCP/IP
The static IP Address that was just configured is already in use on the network. Please reconfigure a different IP address.
OK"
Yea I think both are trying to connect to 192.168.0.1 like you said. :(

The thing I don't get is they seem to have differant ip's. Just wondering in your video you also have a internet connection box that's disabled (under network connections) whats the ip of that address and whats it there for anyways? In the end I think you'll have to play around with the end numbers of the ip till it works. I wish I had this in front of me to focus on. Let me know about that other connection and I'll try and come up with something else.

Hey if your going to buy a new router then go wireless and forget the whole usb connector. If it didn't work for me thats what I would have done. But for $35. its a good deal. What else are you trying to run on this usb anyways psp, laptop ? The reason I ask is if your only trying to connect the DS then maybe the Nintendo software would work. I can't see it but just had to put it out there. I'm sure you know but the software hack is to enable other devices to connect using the usb connector and to bypass the DRM thats been programed in the nintendo software...Dam them all.
WD.
