Hello,
Im trying to rebuild NTSC Xenosaga 1. Do you know where I can get Apache? Alkohols guide says it's needed but the link doesnt work.
Also is that ripkit you have uploaded the latest version and suitable for this task?
Thank you.

The video files are a brand new format, and the general consensus is that they cannot be downsized.

Yeah it is looking grim booboo, think I will have to go buy Xenosaga and do a TOC refresh :(

EDIT

Ok im so bored, i am about to use Gnie's dvd 5 plugin for layer 0 then the DVD9 plugin for layer 1....then use cd-dvd gen to create a iml file. After that use iml2iso to make a new iso...btw i will dummy a couple of dat files. Iso will be around 4 gigs. I know 100% this wont work, but hey, worth a shot?

And no, im not a noob....just bored and have a few Taiyos that really would like to be burned :)

EDIT 2

Didnt work :( And i accidentally deleted my original iso at the same time LOL....oh well

looks like a 2 dvd rip to me,unless there is files in those .dat files that can be removed,or those movie files can be downsampled.

data0_0.dat etc,are from layer 1 and data1_0.dat,layer 2
still aint got the game yet!
i need the save point from chaper 7 uploading if some one has it

So how exactly would this be chopped up? Would it be right where the second layer comes into play? Or would someone have to rewrite the procedure call (i'm just BS'ing on what to call this...) so that the game stops before the Chp7 freeze & you then load the game?

Xenosaga Episode I was a 3 DVD rip using the program over at alucard.cc

if you're a college student, do NOT settle with the RIAA http://tinyurl.com/37oz2z

Hursty, you know all when it comes to rebuilding, so here is my lame idea...let me know if it a possibility.

First off, i have the nuked DVD5 as well as the full DVD9.

The game freezes at chapter 7, since the movies etc are on the second layer. So here it goes

1.Play up to chapter 7 on the DVD5
2.Delete the video files from chapters 1-6, and then fill in the chapter 7 movies and also add the chapter 8-13 vids from the DVD-9, then make a new iso...and then continue from the last save point from when the nuked dvd 5 crashed? I do not know how to tell what is in the .DAT's, so may it be a possibility that some of them can be trashed since the new iso will start at chapter 7??

I admit, this sounds lame....but seems like in theory it can work.

can someone tell me why the tutorial they put for 50 cent at the start hasnt been preformed on Rogue galaxy, the tutorial looks logical, the game is only 6 something gigs, i mean when its compressed itrs should be under 4.7GB,, ummmmmm has anyone done the tutorial for the game yet.

@svtstang: mind sharing what the .rar filename was on the authentic DVD-9? I see a few torrents out there but none of them look legit. The one by Start2 is most likely real but there are no seeders for it. This is one of those games a modchip is def needed for.
As for rebuilding the game, look at the guide to Xenosaga Episode I. It's not an easy rebuild if the gamecode is looking for the layer break with LBA authentication. Xenosaga (over at alucard.cc) had to be hacked to make the ripkit do certain things to the original .ISO that wasn't done to 50 cent or GT4.
Will the movies from RG be downsampled? If they have encryption then no, they would have to be ripped. And that would suck.

i do everything in the guide and everything goes well till i get to doing disc 3.

the first 2 discs come out perfect with the right file size and stuff, but disc 3 always comes out too big its always over 2gbs.

I've tried doing everything from scratch lots of times with the same problem, does anyone know what might be up with it?.

Even if anyone knows away to manually make the 3rd disc it would help alot if you could post how.
Maybe even let me know how many files and their file sizes on your 3rd disc?.
Anybody able to help with this?.

If you need the full version of RG load the Start2. There are about 15 seeders right now. I downloaded it there, too, even though I cant do anything with it.
I dont like this game .. or lets say I dont like the protection of this game. :/

xhardc0re: OR you could burn to a dual-layer disc, but patch the .iso with the toxic dual layer patcher first.
