Just got the M3DS Real and having great success with it. But I am having one problem and I thing it has to do with the operator :)
Is there a trick to do the soft reset, I can't seem to get it to work. I fix the setting for the game, went into it, tried the combination and the game just reacts to the button I push, no reset. Is there a trick to this, a speed, are buttons supposted to be pushed at the same time or everthing one after the other?
Thanks!
"Soft-Reset Key
This allows you to turn on the soft-reset function, when enabled you can press your selected key combo to quit the game your currently playing and return to the M3 menu. There are two different combinations to choose from; L+R+A+B+X or L+R+A+B+Y, there is not any difference in what combo you choose so just pick the one that seems easier for you to press."

You just push them all together, it does not have to be exactly at the same time, both corner buttons and then either of the two options of the others (which ever you selected) I did use it at one time but several games freeze or do not function correctly with the soft reset enabled (although it is getting fewer)so I don't use it anymore.

Have you set the brightness setting in both the DS and the M3??
The M3 has its own brightness setting that over rides the DS, I use setting 2 and get longer than a couple of hours with my M3

Sorry but also - do you turn the ds off when you stop playing, if you only close the lid the M3 turns off the screen lights but that is it, it does not yet support full sleep mode.

I have tried and been unable to run roms that were trimmed via the M3 Lite software... BUT there is no need for me to trim roms as I have a 6GB microsdhc.
Merry X-mas all! :)
the m3 real does in fact run trimmed roms, however, like all carts the rom must be patched/trimmed by (and only by) the patcher/trimmer designed for said cart. so its good to keep clean dumps on hand.
you can find the trimmer for the real on m3's download section. considering the size and amount of ds games out, it would not suprise me if you would be able to fill a 6gb card. so keep it in mind
reporting back on the emu front: For nes games i will be sticking with nesDS, it has incredible compatabillity and low glitches. for snes i will be using SNEmulDS it has a good compatabillity- i can play chrono trigger with minimal graphical glitches after some manual tweaking :). and for gb/gbc for now i am using lameboy, it has a good compatabillity list but im not sure if it has sound or not as i have only tested it with a few games. and for SPC (snes soundchips/soundtracks) there's PocketSPC, havent gotten it to work with the real but it will work with the m3 perfect (slot-2 cart).
cheers to all you emu-maniacs, will report back with any more updates!
how do you setup snemulds on m3 real?
my name is steph... and i'm addicted to technology

Will post #1 ever be updated to include Sakura now that it's official?
Sakura has far surpassed touchpod... in every way possible.
Will somebody explain the new features of real time save?
Build rts save option in the rom settings menu, what does it do?
Save and load in the rts menu in game are fairly obvious.
what about save backup, load backup 1 and 2, what are they for?

It will be, but i'm very busy at the moment with uni work and my job. Spare time is for sleeping, eating and occasional clubbing :P
I will check RTS later (or more likely tomorrow with a hangover) but my guess is Backup 1 and 2 are the same as the old normal save system, you can create a backup save (sort of like a second save file) and move it between the normal save slot and the one of the backup slots. I never used it much as it is was too easy to accidentally lose a save file by copying a backup over a non-backed up save.
EDIT: What i'm more likley to do regarding post #1 is put a new guide there for Sakura and cut and paste the old one into a new thread and just have a link to it for people who want (need?) the touchpod firmware.

Since we're on the subject about battery life on the M3, I have Sakura 1.12+1* (ENG) firmware installed on my microSD for the M3 DS Real. I noticed that my battery life pretty much sucks. Something like 6-7 hours probably. Isn't a DS Lite supposed to have 15+ hours battery life? And I use the lowest lighting setting on Sakura (which is all I need. If I set the lowest brightness on Sakura, the display on DS games still look very bright to me. Even in the dark). Is it Sakura that's sucking my battery or the M3 DS Real? I could use the other M3 DS Real firmware (i forget what its called. G something I think?) and see if it makes a difference. It's also possible that there may be something wrong with the battery but I got my DS Lite and M3 DS Real since the fall and I've had this problem right from the start.
* Yeah I suppose I do need to update my firmware however the package I d/led was a multi-loader with three different firmwares and I like the convenience of switching to another firmware in case somethings up. I find that I rarely use the other firmware though. I pretty much always use Sakura. If Sakura is not the culprit, maybe its that particular version that is gobbling up the juice?

there really isn't going to be anything that the other two loaders (Itouch and M3real I assume) can do that Sakura can't, they've ironed out the bugs and left in M3Real for safetys sake.
Download the new official english firmware and see if that helps. It still has another firmware on it (m3 real) but this time it's officially supported and integreated into sakura.

I'll try out the M3 Sakura 1.34 Beta for US/EUR M3 Real (Multi-Language) firmware now (apparently its official according to gbatemp) and see if that makes a difference on battery life.

Probably not, they all have it now. Try the software from the site in my signature - if it works its real if not then it may be a fake

So im running a M3 DS Real with M3 Sakura software on it with my 6gb HC micro SD card and things have been working great. I saw this cool program called ComicBookDS, so i downloaded it and it worked for a while, read manga on my ds and it was awesome. I go to use it a few moments ago and when i go to open it, the ds freezes at a white screen which would be the opening "welcome to comic book ds ect" part but just nothing. I havnt changed anything on my ds in days and now its not working, anyone have any idea how i can get this app working again?
thanks

Have to format the card and start again.
But first try pushing A (and holding till the DS starts) on start up (starts touchpod) and try running from there

Sakura is not brilliant with Homebrew, it may have corrupted something. I would put everything back on but not comic book DS and try again, if it happens again only run it in touchpod (the original software)

I plan on getting a M3 real next month to go with the DS lite crimson I bought last week, can you transfer saves from emulators to the M3?
It would be nice if you could I much prefer playing games on emulators when I can since the DS is so fcking small.
I am thinking of getting one of these, if I plan to paly the DS for anything longer than an hour at a time...

preaty sure you can as long as its a .sav file and also the huge magnifying class seems a bit excessive, youd be suprised how easy everything is to see and play on the ds.

If you haz eyes the DS presents no problem..if you don't haz eyes headaches or worse cometh >>
If the PSP was not so lulzy game/design wise I would have gotten one....it out puts to the Gdamn tv.... you'd think nin would try and expand its market some put a TV out put on it then sell the cable and controller pack for 60$.....

Hi there and good morning. With the release of the UK DSi this week, can anyone advise if there is a fix for the M3 card to work. Is there a new M3 card or up-dated software? Please advise if you will!
Thanks

No
As all other manufacturers are releasing new cards - you will have to buy a new card.
At the moment they are all in there infancy, some are working, however everyone is aware that Nintendo are able to update the firmware, so how long they will work for no one knows. I am going to give it 6 - 12 months for things to settle down and see if they are reliable before I make the plunge
