If your looking for a rom trimmer then look for DStokyotrim, this trimmer looks for wifi games and leaves them alone as trimming these can inhibit the function

Try the previous page or two for some recommendations of where to buy non-fakes. I've had good luck with dealwoot.com, all good, no shipping fees, and fast too. I have no affiliation, yada, yada...
Good luck,
Dave

hello , i found this site and wonderd if its a good deal:
http://www.thedsdeals.com/M3_DS_Real_p/i...CFQMCagod6yVMCg
i found this site and they offer a pack all for 29.99. i think its a good deal at 10 dollars off. i already havea 2gb micro sd card i can format and use.
question-- how many games can you put on a 2gb micro sd card ? might i need a bigger card ?
2- was that site any good i want to avoid A fake and still get a decent deal at around 29.99.

Well delextreme sell their rumble pack for 28.95 with free delivery so the price is about right, but I have nevr bought from them so I cannot say about fakes, just make sure you try the unit straight away, if the box says anything other than www.m3adapter.com then its a fake, most are R4 or DSTT with an M3 sticker on, worth about $10.
On a 2GB card you will get about 20 or so games if they are all small files up to 40 if they ar all big about 8

Depends where you are.
I use www.dealextreme.com - free delivery but can take 2-3 weeks
realhotstuff.com - US but fast delivery.
The most important thing is when it arrives download the firmware from http://www.linfoxdomain.com/nintendo/ds/ if the packing on the cart says anything other than www.m3adapter.com its a fake and return it

I'm having an issue with my M3 Ds and the GBA advanced expansion pack.
I've had the whole package (M3, GBA Exp and Rumble pack) for almost a year now and it has been working fine (with the exclusion from the dying spring loader of the M3 itself - I remove the Sd card with tweasers :P); today I went to play GBA games on it and found that during short periods of time it would save, but after an hour or so the save file would be gone. All my previous games (GBA games only) seem to have lost there save files as well!
Is there any previous known issue as of such and is there a way of fixing it?

Never had a problem with this so I'm not quite sure.
As per some troubleshooting guidelines... Here are some things to try and report back with.
1st What game/games for GBA not working is it a specific game or all of them. (if it is only one game maybe it's a bad dump or something)
2nd What version of the m3 software are you using. When My friend first got one of these he was complaining about gba saves but then he updated or something and I havn't heard him complain since. Try latest m3 or sakura.
3rd do hardware testing if possible (this isn't always possible without $$$). Try a friends ds and see if it does the same thing in his ds, try a different gba expansion pack, try a different microsd, try a different m3 card. (I try to not have to test hardware because I don't have $$$ to waste).
If anyone else has other ideas feel free to speak up.

Hi Folks:
Since I originally posted a number of "hardware" issues with the M3 Real DS, I have purchased 4 more. I'm happy to say that the most recent "crop" of these cartridges work much better than the earlier ones.
I still have the normal problems (where I have to put a wedge of paper in the slot to make proper contact)... and the spring in the cartridge is "hit or miss" for the SDRAM ... but, happy to report the cartridges have been reliable enough to give to non-techie friends.

Quote: 1.Should i take Kingston or SanDisk microSDHC card?
Shouldn't make any difference. (I'm currently using a Sandisk card though)
Quote: 2.Is 2gb card(i will use it only for games)enough or i should get 4gb one?
Depends how much gaming you do, 2GB is probably enough though (i'm currently using a 6GB card)
Quote: 3.What site delivers M3 DS Real worldwide?
Check the sites in the first post (most do worldwide), I got mine from Divineo (sent from their China site to UK in 7 days).
Quote: 4.Whats the difference between M3 DS Real Rumble Pack Bundle,M3 DS Real Rumble RAM Pack Bundle and M3 DS Real Perfect Bundle?
The Rumble pack bundle only has the rumble pak included (adds vibration feedback to supported games)
The Rumble RAM pack bundle includes the rumble cart mentioed above but with built in ram for use with the Opera internet browser and homebrew games.
The Perfect bundle comes with the rumble pak and a GBA pak to play GBA games.

the manual says you don't need the gba expansion to play gba roms anymore, not with recent software upgrades, you can use the rumble or ram pack instead
EDIT: i've tried and it doesn't work, sorry

hi, wonder if someone can help, I have just bought a m3 - i think its ok as it has "adapter" not adaptes on the packing but the sd loads from the top not from the side as i have just found out it should, hopefully its just an old stock
Anyway the help i want is finding a place to download the system software/firmware needed as mine never came with any. I've followed mr hanky's link on page 1 of this thread but alas to no avail. I've also gone directly to gbalpha and hand held .....(something) but seem unable to download it.
Does anyone know anywhere else i can get it or show me where i've gone wrong it'd be much appreciated
Thanx in advance
Thanx 4 responding, mr hankys link has been updated so i ended up getting it there as it was easier to follow his guide to do it - i have got the sakura file mentioned tho .......... just in case lol. thanx again

Google "linfox domain ds downloads"
Also read the entire thread, This site has a few mentions, Many times from myself... Hope it helps you.
THere are two main firmwares, The official and the unnofficial sakura translation... I strongly recommend the sakura translation.

I've seen it in this topic as well as on other sites. It seems like this is a fine community that may be able to help out.
I like others, have an issue where our GBA saves are not being properly loaded.
This is how it generally goes:
-Start a game fine and play with it functioning properly.
-Save because you have other things to do.
-Turn on NDS and go through the correct channels to boot up the GBA rom.
-Game starts up as a new game without any prompting at all, just asks me to name the character. If it helps any this is for hte original Golden sun.
List of things I have noticed and tried:
-I have tried both patched and fast boot methods of starting the rom.
-I don't use any cheats and RTSaving is disabled.
-A *.0 and a *.is0 file is created for the game.
-A gba_conf.ini file is created, however it appears to be created only once and for which game you load first after manually deleting it.
-I manually deleted the gba_conf.ini file because I noticed that the path inside of the file pointed to a a different game, one I had ran previously. I figured that the "loader" used the incorrect path to locate the saves. This did not fix it.
-I removed all other gba roms and deleted the gba.conf.ini file. Forcing the "loader" to only see one ROM and it's supporting files. This did not fix it.
-The gba.conf.ini file has a path '/GBA/0171 - Golden Sun (UE).gba' followed by a bunch of NUL characters then '˙˙˙˙' followed by some more null characters. My intuition says that the loader reads this literally and is looking for the saves to exist in a location that isn't there.
-I tried to manually fix this by deleting all the "extra" after the path name but after attempting this and then looking at the file again it had reverted to the version with all the null characters.
My guess is that there is an issue with the firmware and how it handles GBA game. However if this were the case I figured more people would be complaining. I have v2.9 for the M3DS Real. I purchased the perfect bundle.
Your assistance would be much appreciated.
Was there ever a solution to this? Im experiencing the exact same problems with golden sun.

The way the GBA pack works, the save file is saved on the slot 2 card the only time it is put back on to the slot one is when you power up the DS again.
So turn off the DS and then start it up again - this dumps the save - then power off again.
You should also update the firmware as a lot of improvements to both NDS and GBA have been made - it is now 4.2c se the website in my signature.
Do you keep the slot 2 plugged in to the DS - it has a rechargable battery to hold the save till you next turn on, if the battery is flat = no save.
Hope this helps

I've had an M3 DS Real for a couple of months now and its all been going well, but yesterday I hit a problem. Whenever I try to edit the things on my micro-SD card, it says its 'write protected'.
I use a Micro SD adapter that plugs straight into my laptop's SD card slot. It has a Lock switch on the side and I've tried it in both positions multiple times, but to no avail.
Is there anyway to fix this, or do I need a new SD adapter?
Cheers in advance.

what about trying the micro sd adapter that came with the m3 real ?
failing that you may need a new adapter as possibly the write protection lock is playing up.

i've had my m3 a couple of weeks and have noticed my battery is being used up at a much higher rate than normal since i got it, i have a ds lite and the battery is only lasting around 2 hours with the lowest brightness setting, it has been doing this with and without the gba cart in, anyone else have this problem cause i'm sure it isn't a coincidence that my ds battery is going

It's a fact that an M3Real card can and usually does drain battery faster than usual, But two hours on full charge is very wrong, I think it needs longer charge or your battery is broken.
