lol, it would be great playing games on a 15" with a HD4870X2. You can run any games on MAX even crysis. But i think everything will be squashed and it doesn't look good

Warhead is little different to the original Crysis, the improvements have mainly made the graphics better without dropping the performance, rather than improved the performance, though it is a little better (less than 10%). However, playing Crysis or Crysis:Warhead at resolutions as high as 1680x1050 is an absolute sure thing on maximum settings with either an HD4870 or GTX280, hell, an HD4850 could probably do it.
GTR35: You do realise you can make a 15" box in the middle of any sized monitor using catalyst right?

Well, put it this way - whatever you play Crysis at now, you will be able to play Warhead at, but I wouldn't expect to get much 'extra' so to speak.

goodluck and have fun
oh btw i only realize that I DEFINITELY need a bigger monitor! yesterday when i was working i need to open up many files, and guess what they are all on top of eachother, i have to click on the bar to open it and sometimes i click the wrong folder/files...it is so irritating. 15" is way too small. But then again, i'm scared that my 8600GTS is not powerful enough to run it...well in gaming of course

I had my 30" for over a year before I ditched my X1900XT, which isn't much faster than an 8600GTS.

at 15" res you would be CPU not GPU limited and i bet a 4870X2 would work as good as a 4850 (bar crysis)
also for gTX280>4870, it depends on the game, most (90%) the GTX280 fins, grid it deffiately does not where it gets beaten by the 4850 same with call of juarez.
some games make the GTX280 have a HUGH win esp at 2560 where most of the time its 10% ahead of the 4870 and really doesnt comment the bigger price tag.

Everybody read my posts on page 34 and 35. That will give you a general idea of the changes made in Warhead. Don't expect to play any higher settings.

It's a fun game, but man, is it buggy! about 20% of the time the Heavy Machine gun sound doesn't stop when someone stops firing it - so you have to hear the deafening roar of a machine gun until you finish the level. Couple with that if you use an HD4870X2 you get BIG artifacts that are very distracting.
Man, I want to play warhead! I may just bite the bullet and pay the extra fiver to get it on steam...

Quite the opposite for me. I think the graphics are FAR improved from Vegas 1. The gameplay is much more fun and thrilling and the performance has improved by quite a bit. Where my 8800GTS got 35-40FPS at 1920 x 1200 on RS:V 1, it gets about 45-50 on RS:V 2 with 2xAA.
Buggy? Definitely. Sometimes I'll break through glass and have to listen to it breaking until I leave the area. Or I'll have the problem with the machine gun like Sam had.
It's certainly a good game though. I found it quite enjoyable. 7.8/10

Well I have never played the first one. For some reason the snowy level in the start made me feel like I was playing Nightfire on the PS2. That's when I stopped playing it.

What a waste... the snow level lasts for like 10 minutes. I urge you to continue on. The graphics aren't amazing but it manages to look pretty nice all the way through... and Nightfire? Harsh dude...

And Nightfire was ugly even when it first came out. But RS:V 2 is miles ahead of anything the PS2 can even hope to do. You're missing out on a really good game. At least make the effort to see some more before you make your judgement. I mean, of course they would look similar... snow is snow...

Yeah, BUT I have no gaming computer!
Plus I have like 5 xbox 360 games that I would REALLY LOVE to finish. I have no time though to sit down for an hour and just play games. And I dont like 15 minutte games sessions lol. With all these awesome new games coming out, who has time for Vegas 2?
Plus I just got brothers in Arms, Hells highway. Cant wait to start that!
