Hey, someone asked this earlier.. if you can use HD Loader on an unmodded ps2. But can you use the downloaded HD Loader on an unmodded ps2. I downloaded the torrent (133 megs which extracted to about 225), and on my ps2 schp-35001 (gt3 version) v4.. it says "disc read error"

Can someone let me know what I need? Thanks.

Credit where credit is due....

I have been told that V1 thru V3 consoles came with a "demo" disk. This disk is supposed to be able to run custom programs. However, most people dont have this disk, and little info seems to be available. For the vast majority of people, a mod of some kind is required. No one is going to give away their "demo" disk either.

so if i were to download the cracked HDloader and burn it to a cd, all I would need is a Gameshark disc to boot it? Would I need to do the knife trick?

If the gameshark disc wont work for a burned copy, would it work for the memory card exploit? in that case would i need the knife trick?

Time to brush up on your DOS skillz.

Is there a file called titleman.exe in your c:\MC folder? Is there a file called TITLE.DB in your c:\MC folder?

If yes and yes, then this should work:
C:\MC>titleman.exe -a SLES_004.45

If not, then the problem is between you and your PC. Nothing we can do for you here.

How do you boot backups, Wipeout? Modchip, swapmagic, etc?

I take it that you are trying to install HDLoader to the mem card and use the exploit to boot HDLoader using a PS1 game. I noticed that your PS1 game is SLES (European). Is your PS2 European (PAL mode)?

Check your email for a Nero tutorial.

WTF. Mystery Solved!

If your PS2 can't boot backups directly, then there are only two ways you can get HDLoader to run:

1. Buy a pressed copy.
2. Get a mem card with it already on there, and instructions on what PS1 game will be used to load it.

At what point did you think that you could load a burned disc without some type of mod? C'mon man... tell me you searched the forums first. >: {
