Hi!
Reading this info on this thread, i have got some questions about this method using hdloader with an unmodded ps2.

I'm sorry for the one problem you have! If you were my neighboor, consider it done! but again, you need a swap magic disc or someone that you can go to for their console that is modded so you can install the MC Exploit. I heard though that you can boot it with game shark (which available to any game store) but I'm not sure, I didn't dig into it since my consol is modded. and addition to HDLoader, the point of using this is that you can save your laser since it's easy to wear out, and with the HD PS2 running your games is much much faster and more enjoyable to play and for the purpose of storing games so that you don't have to swap disc every time you play your other games. If you have Version 4-10 console it will be a little easier to solder wires on to it because of the design of the motherboard, the chip terminals, some have extenstion for easy access and soldering part. New to this forum...now...Whats this about copying HD Loader / HD Advance? I tried it myself (I have HD-Advance DVD + CD versions.) Those things are damn near impossible to copy...Alcohol takes forever to copy it because of all of the bad sectors. Theres rings all around the data side of both discs. Same thing for Swap Magic 3 (I have that too). Exactly what program and settings do you use to copy each disc? Even then...I still doubt a 1:1 copy is achievable. What about its "signature"? (Valid PS2 disc). I'm just confused a bit over here on how you achieve such a thing. :/
Oh by the way...along with those discs, i got a Flip-top, Network, and 120GB Maxtor HDD. Everything works fine cept for PAL games now. I suppose I would need to mod it to be able to play PAL games correctly now? The game plays, but the signal is a PAL signal (black and white, flickery 50hz, and black bar on top. Other TV's may vertically roll).
Also..this MC Exploit thing is quite new to me...I'll look into it.

The thread of this forum is "ISO" (image) version of HDLoader or HDAdvance, meaning a file program called .ELF that is HDLoader or HDAdvance. The CD and DVD version of HDLoder and HDAdvance is the same as the .ELF version. They function the same thing. Only the .ELF is triggered/runned thru MC Exploit with PS1 Disc that's what make it possible to copy the program HDLoader or HDAdvance. Google MC Exploit tuturial first step.

I looked into the memory exploit thing...and yeah, i see why people would get this. wouldnt have to pay so and so $$$ for the real disc..but eh, still using a disc. I forgot to mention I use HD Advance (commercial copy), works quite well. i can play/copy backups and everything including PAL games with the aforementioned side-effects. I managed to find a PAL to NTSC converter with Y-Fix, but sadly it wont work with Gran Turismo 4 Prologue :(. I bought a DMS 4 pro modchip earlier though...now i just gotta figure out how to keep a steady hand when soldering it on <.<.

Does anyone have a TITLE.DB file that has all the PS1 games already in it? Also how do I change the MC Exploit to boot directly to the the HDLoader.elf file and not the boot.elf file?

This might be a funny question but if the new update for HD Advance allows a 200gb hd the 137gb limit is not a question. So how do we get an even larger HD to work like a 300gb or 1/2 a Terabyte HD. I do not see why 200 will work and 300 wont.
That will be awesome when it works.

I am really interested in getting HDloader, the original copy. but I just want to make sure that it will work with my Unmodded Import PS2(japanese:model#50005). anyone has done this or has any idea? and am i gonna able to play game that is downloaded from the internet using the HDLoader?
