i have read many forums that says you do not need a modded ps2 to use the memory card hack.I can purchase a memory card with the hack already on it,and they give you a copy of the ps1 game that is used to boot up as well,but think about it guys,my ps2 is still unmodded yet apparently it will work so long as i buy the memory card with the hack pre-installed,which brings me to the question?If the hackers who are selling the memory cards can get this to work on an unmodded PS2 then why wont it work for me....Its all about using the correct software for a PAL machine,someone out there must have it,now cmon,gimme some help on this!!!!!

just thought i would add this info i got off the net:
To make a long story short, the exploit allows anyone with a memory card and
a valid, legal PS1 disc to hijack the boot process and run any piece of code.
Absolutely no modification to the system is necessary to use the exploit (my
only working PS2 is not moddded, and I have developed and tested the exploit
on this machine). All one really needs is a way to send the files to the
memory card to enable the exploit.

by eck i like replying dont i,i have since found out that the hack only works with 600 usa ps1 titles or 200 PAL ps1 titles,and guess what the gama i was using wasnt included in the list,im off to blockbusters i shall let yers know how i get on.

To crack and copy hdloader,ps2 games,apps proggrams etc its not so hard you just need lots of time.
Anyway.
I have cracked (modified) copy of HDLOADER is just 1,5 MB (1,501 kb) and its work fine.I tried 20GB seagate hard disc and it work fine and now i am using 120GB samsung hard disk and again work fine.
I can send the file (HDLOADER) to anyone who wants it via email and i wil appreciate if someone send me codebreaker v.8 and gameshark v.4 or tell me where i can download those files because they dont sell those things on my country. (No fake files please)

Sorry if this has been posted already, but I was wondering.. since I haven't seen anymore HD Loader discs being sold ANYWHERE, Ebay, etc etc. I decided to go to suprnova and attempt to get it from there, but I did wonder something, do I need to have a modchip in my PS2? because it doesn't have one, so I'm wondering if the Cracked HD Loader, would actually work with my PS2, since it has no modchip, thanks in advance.

Just wanted to clear this up. You can run HDLoader without a modchip(Store boughten HDLoader). I can take that store boughten one and back it up to my MC, correct...Yes or No

The reason why you need a modchip or something that allows you to boot non-pressed CDs in order to create a bootable MC is because you need to boot up the PS2 with a CD that contains the boot files for the MC. How do you plan on getting the boot files onto the MC if you don't boot up the PS2 with said disc? Once you have the boot files on the MC, then you no longer need a method to boot from a CD-R since you will be using the PD1 exploit. That is why you can use an exploit MC but not make one if you do not have a why to boot non-pressed discs. Understand?

no no no,i have been given instructions on how to make such a disc but i have been using a non compatible original PS1 game as the boot disc hence the reason why it wont work,now i am getting hold of a compatible game and when i do i shall make a CDR using the methods i have been shown to put the data onto the MC then i shall boot up using THE ORIGINAL PS1 game which i then use to BOOT UP the HD loader software.
I have since seen on the net pre modded ps2 memory cards for sale along with a copy of a ps1 game which is used to boot up<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<this is all iam trying to achieve i just dont wannna pay to do it....
Just a thought though,if i bought one of these pre modded memory cards,would i be able to copy the data over onto another memory card in the second slot,i understand that to still use the clone MC i will need another copy of the ps1 game that was used for the other MC but just wondered if it would work?

Anyone have a working copy of HD advance? or know where I can get one?
I need to somehow reformat my ps2 HD, cuz I had to turn it off middle of RIP cuz there were read errors and it was gonna take 100,000 hours to finish. Now when I load up with HDloader it says there is some hardware error, something like no hardrive found, and there no way to reformat, can anyone help?
PS2,Flip-top, 100GB Western Digital HD...

A: I have the .ELF for MC Exploit "hdadvance" if you want it!
Use WINHIIP to re-format ur HD.

have u tried taking off ur network adapter, disconnecting the hard drive and reconnecting. sometimes that happens to me, it says it cant find the hard drive so i gotta do that and it works.

I downloaded the ps2ownz-hdloader-RAR (torrent) and i get a .rar file that has like 7 .rar files in that original .rar file, how do i burn these to a disk? When i open each they have the same files in them but each .rar file is like part1,part2,part3,etc.

OK...... PPL
Go and buy a AR MAX...and a thumb drive.... or if you have a digital camera it might work....
download the fricking exploit.... do not burn to CD
clean up about 2MB of MC space and run AR MAX.... use the MC manager and delete teh system file from the MC you want to use...
I can provide the exploit... custom amde for what games you need.... just PM me... and I'll get with you
then copy exploit to USB Device then copy it with PS2 to MC and reset with PS1 game to boot exploit.....
the exploit allows you to FTP to your PS2 from PC, build new partitions on the HDD and backup games and MC saves as well as run emulators on the system....
all this without a mod chip

**** Google "WinRar", and download plus install and you should be able to see what files they are or image. have fun! ****

Yes I am a complete newbie to all this, and I think ive got most of it right so far (WINHIIPed a hard drive, backed up some games on2 it), but the bit where I stumble is this...I have an un Modded PAL PS2, so what do I do? I understand the whole exploitation process, but dont know how to get it onto my Memory Card. Or do I grab a rip of HDloader and put it onto the harddrive using WINHIIP?I do have a PS2 demodisk that came with the PS2 with some codeing software on it, would this be a plausible way of putting the exploitation code on2 MC?If so where do I get the source code?
