ok but like you said "high-rise" there is still not enough space for a mobo to do a real CFX with a little space in between for the heat. i've never seen a E-ATX before.

There are no components down there, so no heat, only wires that link them together.
E-ATX isn't that common but it is used for the top-end boards.

Yes, big boards like some of Asus' top end gaming boards are E-ATX, and I think Skulltrail is E-ATX as well.

Yeah it won't be full E-ATX, as that doesn't even fit in cases like the Antec 1200.

What it needs is an extra 4870X2, a better case, and water cooling.

well, since the monitor they are giving away with it runs at 1650x1080, I would say it's good enough.

Plus, if you have a chance of getting it for free why complain ;)

what? 24" monitors are too big for me, I am not sure how close you to sit your computer though. I like to have my secondary monitor (a TV) be the bigger beast. It is all personal preference however.

I'm guessing the reason for you saying that is beacuse this rig could probably max out games at a much higher res. right???

I've entered the comp. and it's fingers crossed
Would be a dream come true if I win

PS - The monitor is a 22"

That's right, you could get away with a machine half as powerful for that res.

Sam is running 2560 x 1600 with a single HD4870X2. And I'm running 1920 x 1200 with 2 HD4870s in Crossfire. 1680 x 1050 is an absolute waste of this kind of power. I get silly fast frames even at 1920 res.

Meh 22" are not worth it either, 20" have the same resolution, but over a smaller area, making the picture sharper. The difference might not be noticeable, but it might be, its an ongoing argument.

Sharp is relative, depending on how far you sit from the screen...

LOL
Thanks for the feedback, but it was the magazine's choice not mine.
I totally get where you guys are coming from, though

I would still be happy to win this though, I mean an extreme quad at 4GHZ has to CRAZY!!!!!! :D
'Tis a sick rig, you must admit, apart from the monitor if you don't like it :P

And the other stuff I mentioned.

I mean if it's going to be the ULTIMATE rig, it had better be all out.

True, true, even though it's a dream rig not ultimate :P

They mentioned considering water cooling in the article, but if a normal pc user got this (a waste) they would have no clue on how to handle it.

I don't think 2 4870s wouldn't affect performance at this res :P (back to the monitor again LOL)

Good cases are actually quite hard to fins around here, but I can think of a few cases that are better than this

I get you tho ;)

Nehalem can wait :P
Plus there is no such thing as second hand here ;)

I've spent the past "X" years gaming on a P4, 1gb ram, 7600GS, now I moved to the lappy in my sig

No way would I sell this rig (who knows when nehalem comes out in Saudi)

Make dua that I win, you 2 shaff ;)
