lol
Apple is retarded. First they use all the faulty Nvdia cards instead of ATI and their Macbook Pros are failing like crazy. Now they will use the much more unreliable Nvidia chipsets?
Might as well make an OS that is difficult to get software support for. Oh wait...

Mort: What's different about the slipstream to other fans that means you can't adjust it in the BIOS? I would assume any 3-pin fan can be adjusted in the same manner as any other...
Theone: Good news in my book. Will be interesting to see what happen with SLI now. Hopefully Intel will implement it for the nvidia fanboys better than nvidia did. I'm tired of people buying nforce boards and wondering why they don't work. Honestly, what happened to nvidia? Desktop GPUs are the only thing they can make that doesn't break or suck!
Abuzar: LOL, just plain lol @ the mac comment. I doubt Mac will elect an ailing manufacturer, I'm pretty sure that's why they dumped IBM for the Core 2s a little while back, that was the best decision Apple ever made IMO.

Yeah that. What's this, a GPU in a CPU? That would make upgrades a bit more expensive...

A friend of a newly acquired friend told me that the price of the 4870X2 will be very similar to the GTX280, so on that basis I may be buying one of those instead. Sure it's noisy, but with the huge power consumption of the new cards, especially in crossfire, I may have to use my gaming PC for just that, and start using my server as a normal PC instead (which will mean me fixing it! lol)
Plus, the 4870X2 only uses one slot and my board has two. I think you can see where this is going...

i thought thats weed?
oh well, i wouldnt know.
labaree IS a parrallel CPU with ALOT of cores (talking near 50) these will all be pentium 1 cores, as about 10 of them can fit into a 1 45nm penryin C2D, and give better performance for parallel proccessing.
this way intel can keep adding cores, and wont need TMUs and ROPS etc. these cores will be all the ALU and will do shaders/tessellation aswell.

Ah, the classic intel approach. "Well, we've reached the end of the road with our cores, so let's have more of them".
I have to admit, despite the fact they're slower chips, AMD's R&D is so much more intelligent.

Actually, my bad. It seems this WILL be a separate video card.
So while they improve tech on their CPUs they will be doing this on their video cards. Hey, whatever works.

Happens a lot actually, returns departments only get allocated certain batches of CPUs, if they have a particularly high amount of returns they aren't authorised to 'pinch' any more from the product lines to fill demand, so leave you waiting.

sammorris: At least you can use your build, I'm stuck using an old computer w/ a pentium 4 that constantly runs at 64C....
And I got a reply from a source at nVidia about the articles regarding the nVidia chipsets....
Quote: "Stop reading that bull-s***." (w/o the asterisks)
I guess it's not true then??
