Hi Everyone, Ive finally got the PAL Version of Star Wars battlefront 2 working. Here's my guide:
Im using Swap magic 3.6 with a slimline PS2. i tried a direct copy that didnt work, i tried rebuilding and it didnt work. I figured that there must be some additional files on the PAL that the NTSC didnt have. I discovered that the following files had to be replaced with 1byte of data. INGAMEIT.MVS, INGAMESP.MVS, TRAINIT.MVS and TRAINSP.MVS. I beleive these to be foreign language files i.e spanish and italian as all these files also exist with UK in place of IT and SP on the end.
1, First extract your iso files from ISObustr to a folder.
2, Locate the above files. They can be found here, DATA>_LVL_PS2_MOVIES.
3,Open notepad press space bar then save as, and name as above and make sure you have all files selected.
4, start a new compilation with Nero UDF/ISO, copy all files as they appear in iso buster and burn.
you will notice that the overall size of the files is very close to the size of files in the NTSC version.
Ive played the game a few times and it works great.
Give it a go and see.

I got star wars battlefront two to work with swap magic 3.6 without rebuilding it. Once I burned it it was 4.38GB. But now when I play it the videos are chopy and the anouncer repeats himself. Like in the video if they were telling you some thing like "use the force luke" it would sound like this: "use use use the force luke luke" The voices in the videos only, repeats there selfs. Ok I burnt this game on to a TEON DVD-R, I went and bought soem Verbatim's that are DVD-R. If I copy the TEON DVD-R to the Verbatim DVD-R will it fix the voice problum?

Should help. It won't definitely solve the problem, but it's worth a try. At least you would eliminate cheap media as the cause of the problem. SWBF2 has caused many people problems. So just be patient and stick with it.

@Burngames
I rebuilt the iso down to 2.35 G or something like that, game plays flawlessly. NTSC version, SM 3.3.
EDIT - thought I should specify that I use the cd/dvdgen rebuild method, honestly, its pretty easy ppl dont be intimidated
PS2 - V4 W/Flip top, Swap Magic 3.3
Burning - Sony DRU 720A

I managed to backup the PAL version of SWBF2 on swap magic 3.6 using mallymmx's method (above, on this page). However, the sound frequently chops/jerks to the point where i only use sfx. Is this because I used TDK+DVDs? Can anyone suggest the king of backup DVDs? cheers, johan

Works OK for me.
Made image using Alcohol 120% from an original PAL version of SWBFII, burned image to Verbatim DVD+R using Alcohol 120% once again.
Using a Ripper 2 Gold chip.
Getting same problems as Hursty. They're very minor so I'm not too worried, but it would be nice to have a perfect working copy.

Works fine for me with v12 slimline and SM 3.3. Rebuilt or not rebuilt (yes, I tried both =.=), it doesn't make a difference =/ Works okay online, too. No skipping.
