9.then click the "volume" button and choose a licence area, and fill in the "disc name" with your disc id # (the SLUS and number that follows it), put playstation in the producer name and the disc id again in the "volume" part of the volume identifier.

Nero puts the files in alphabetical order as you drop them. It burns the files in the order in which you drag them in. Basically ignore the order Nero puts them in it doesn't matter, as long as you drag the files into Nero in the same order they are listed in IsoBuster.

Look if you know how to follow Directions then do this it's not hard at all if you do it right step for step then it will work it did for me plays great.

All your doing is rebuilding the game and changing the system file
GET Apache 2
GET CDdvdgen 1.20
DVD Decrypter
That's all you need
1.Open decrypter to iso read to put the game iso on hard drive

2.open the game with apache point to the game on you left that looks like a CD image right click it and hit extract all to your desktop you will get a folder

when it's done with that go to your folder and open the system file with notepad and change it to
BOOT2 = cdrom0:\SWBFRNT2.ELF;1
VER = 1.01
VMODE = NTSC
for pal users keep it pal save and go to the next step

3.When thats done open cddvdgen click new project then click dvd-rom master disc put the game files in the same order that apache had them go to volume and where it say Disc name you put for ex.(SLUS *****)
after that go to producer name put in PLAYSTATION and where it say Licence Area i pick america. Ater that go to file at the top on cddvdgen and click Export iml file it will ask you to save on your HDD you can put a short name of the game click save and that's it for cddvdgen close it

4. Go back to apache go to file on the top and click Import iml file then you should see on your right all the file of the game then go back to file and click build ISO and there you go wait for it to finish and burn it to a dvd-r 1x-4x on good media

HDD users
When you install the game using winhiip or like utility, It will show you the SLUS_ boot file. Replace that with SWBFRNT2.ELF. This game also needs to be run in mode 3.
that's all to it

Thanks to 2kwic

Hi,
Not to sound redundant but I have a modded PS2 which allows me to play duplicated ps2 games without a boot disc.

I recently obtained the Star Wars Battlefront 2 file : [www.solops2.com]_star_wars_battlefront_2-PS2_fullDVD_usa

How should I proceed to make this a playable disc on my ps2? From combing the threads I remember someone mentioning that with a modded ps2 I wouldn't have to rebuild the iso. Though someone else mentioned that rebuilding the iso does away with "garbage" files that protect the original game from being duplicated.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Do I have to rebuild the iso or is there a quicker way with a modded ps2? any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I successfully backed up this game just by using DVDdecrypter,ISObuster, and Nero.

After I used Isobuster the new size of the file was 2.39GB.
I then opened up a new project with Nero and burned it with no problems whatsoever.Game works flawlessly.

Dummy files won't affect a modchip, just Swap Magic. You shouldn't have to rebuild, but some games just run smoother after rebuilding, even with a chip. Try a straight burn with DVD Decrypter on good media at 2x or 4x. If that doesn't work try rebuilding.

11. Q. How Do I rebuild games?
A. With Nero and Isobuster (works as long as no single file is over 2 GB's): http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/197949
With CD/DVDGen: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/210515

NOTE BACKUPS WILL ONY WORK WITH SWAP MAGIC OR MODCHIPS. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ONE OF THESE 2 ITEMS BEFORE COPYING.

HOW TO REBUILD A PLAYSTATION 2 GAME

YOU WILL NEED...

1. DVD Decrypter
2. A dvd burning drive
3. (recomended)APACHE 2 or IML2ISO
4. CD_DVD-ROM GEN
5.ISO BUSTER for extracting the iso. (I would recomend APACHE 2 again because it is free and it does other jobs. plus it can extract a dual layer disks.

STEP 1. INSERT YOUR PS2 GAME INTO YOUR DVD DRIVE
STEP 2. DECRYPT THE GAME TO YOU HARD DRIVE USING DVD Decrypter
OPEN DVD DECRYPER AND WAIT FOR IT TO READ YOUR DISK. THEN CLICK MODE, ISO READ.
STEP 3. YOU WILL SEE A LITTLE FOLDER WHERE YOU CHOOSE THE DESTINATION OF YOUR ISO. CLICK ON IT AND CHOOSE WHERE YOU WANT TO PUT YOUR ISO.
STEP 4. ONCE YOU HAVE FINISHED THAT CLICK ON THE ICON (A DISK AND THE HARDISK) AND CLICK ON IT TO START YOR DECRYPTION.
STEP 5. SIT BACK AND WAIT.(IF YOU GET READ ERRORS CLEAN YOUR DISK OR CHECK ITS NOT DAMAGED)
STEP 6. ONCE IT HAS FINISHED GO TO YOUR DISTINATION OF YOUR ISO. YOU WILL SEE IT SHOULD BE THERE. OPEN ISO BUSTER OR APACHE 2.

!!!OPENING THE ISO WITH APACHE 2!!!

OPEN UP APACHE 2 AND OPEN THE ISO YOU MADE (GO TO FILE MODE AND CLICK ON THE MINI FOLDER). IN THE LEFT HAND SIDE OF APACHE 2 THERE WILL BE A LIST OF FILES AND 1 ROOT. RIGHT CLICK ON THE VERY TOP OF THESE ON THE NAME OF YOU GAME WITH A LITTLE DISK ON THE LEFT OF IT AND CLICK EXTRACT ALL.CHOOSE THE PLACE AND CLICK OK.

!!!OPENING THE ISO WITH ISO BUSTER!!!

OPEN ISO BUSTER AND CLICK FILE, OPEN IMAGE FILE, FIND THE PLACE YOU MADE YOUR ISO AND CLICK ON IT. THWN THERE SHOULD BE YOUR GAME WITH A LITTLE SIGHN SAYING ISO ON THE LEFT OF IT. RIGHT CLICK ON THIS AND CLICK EXTRACT. SELECT THE PLACE AND CLICK OK.

WHEN YOU HAVE CHOSE YOR METHOD AND STARTED THE EXTRACTION, SIT BACK AND SIP YOUR BREW.

STEP 1. WHEN YOR ISO HAS FINISHED EXTRACTING OPEN UP CD_DVD-ROM GEN AND SELECT NEW PROJECT THE DVD ROM MASTER DISC (THE SECOND ONE)

STEP 2. CLICK ON CD DVD-ROM'S DIRECTORY (IF IT ISNT ALREADY SELECTED)MINIMIZE CD_DVD-ROM GEN FOR NOW AND FIND THE FOLDER YOU EXTRACTED YOUR ISO TO. DRAG THE CONTENT OF YOUR ISO INTO CD DVD-ROM GEN.

CAUTION!!!!!!!!!!!
THE FILES MUST BE IN THE ORDER THEY WERE IN ISO BUSTER OR APACHE.

E.G IF SYSTEM IS AT THE TOP DRAG IT IN FIRST ETC.

STEP 3. ONCE ALL THE FILES ARE DRAGED IN TO CD DVD-ROM GEN GO TO THE TOP LEFT AND SELECT VOLUME.

STEP 4. YOU WILL SEE THE FIRST OPTION AS DISK NAME. MINIMIZE CD_DVD-ROM GEN AGAIN AND GO TO YOU EXTRACTED FOLDER AND LOOK FOR A FILE ON THE LINES OF SCES SCUS SLES ETC FOLLOWED BY A NUMBER. E.G SCES_517.19

STEP 5. MEMORISE IT AND GO BACK TO CD_DVD-ROM GEN AND PUT THE SCES SLUS SLES ETC. BIT IN DISK NAME.

STEP 6. THERE WILL BE A BIT OF SPACE IN THE NEXT BOX. HERE YOU WILL WRITE THE NUMBER. IGNORE THE DOT. E.G 51719 NOT 517.19.

STEP 7. YOUR BOXES SHOULD BE LIKE THIS...

disk name: SLES(or whatever you have) 45677(or whatever you have)

STEP 8. ON THE RIGHT IT SAYS PRODUCER NAME. HERE WRITE PLAYSTATION THE SELECT YOUR LICENSE AREA MINE IS EUROPE. IF YOUR GAME IS AMERICAN PUT AMERICA... LEAVE ALL THE OTHER BOXES BLANK.

STEP 9.PRESS RECORD YOU WILL GET 2 ERRORS. IF NOT YOU WILL NEED TO DAWNLOAD wnaspi32.dll which is included in Nero so istall that if you must. YOUR 2 ERRORS WILL LOOK LIKE THIS...

RECORDING UNIT IS NOT CONNECTED
INITALIZATION FAILED

STEP 10. THEN GO ON FILE, EXPORT IMAGE.NAME IT, CHOOSE THE AREA THEN SAVE.

STEP 11. AFTER THAT IS DONE OPEN APACHE 2 AND CLICK FILE, IMPORT IML. FIND YOUR IML AND CLICK OK. A LIST OF YOUR FILES WILL COME UP. AGAIN CLICK FILE, THEN BUILD ISO. THIS WILL BUILD YOUR FINAL ISO.

THE 99% PROBLEM

IF YOUR ISO GOES TO 99% AND KEEPS ON GOIG AND GOING THE CANCEL IT. WARNING THIS MUST BE A LONG TIME BEFORE YOU CANCEL IT.

DOWNLOAD APACHE 3 PREVIEW |(INCLUDED IN THE GRAN TURISMO 4 RIPKIT) FROM BACKUPTOOLS.CO.UK BECAUSE FOR SOME REASON THAT ONE WORKS.

THE FINISH LINE
ONCE YOU HAVE YOUR FINISHED ISO, OPEN UP DVD DERCYPTER AND CLICK MODE ISO WRITE. SELECT THE FILE YOU MADE AND CLICK 1X PLEASE DONT GO ANY HIGHER. ALTHOUGH IT WORKS FOR OTHERS IT MAY NOT WORK FOR YOU SO BURN AT THE LOWEST SPEED FOR BEST PERFORMANCE. INSERT YOU BLANC DVD-R. DVD-R IS THE ONLY TYPE OF MEDIA THAT WILL WORK. THEN CLICK THE ICON.

I would recommend using Apache2..not had a problem with rebuilds using this.

This is what I did, and it works fine, i hope it works for you

Hi! I've rebuilt the game using HoustonTX's method and it works. It even works off of my HDD, but the multiplayer doesn't work from my burnt image or HDD. I used windip to change the dna$ but it still doesn't work. Anyone have a solution for this?

Interesting...while rebuilding the game found something. i downloaded the file : [www.solops2.com]_star_wars_battlefront_2-PS2_fullDVD_usa

but instead of a SLUS file it has a SLES file. so i take it this is the PAL version instead of the NTSC version?

littlejt

If that's the case anyone know which download is the NTSC version?

A quick search didn't turn up any info on that particular DNA error. Did you patch it correctly? Did you use the correct DNA ID? Make sure you patch it with the PAL DNA and not the NTSC DNA ID.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 PAL (UK) SLES_535.01
xx xx 03 40 3C

20. Q. What are DNA's?
A. Any game made after 2003 for the PS2 that is online playable contains one or more image files that has a "disk
DNA checker." The online game server checks your game disk to see if it's the real thing or not. Thus, you have to discover which .img file on the game disc has the checker file.

21. Q. How do I patch DNA's?
A. http://www.ps2nfo.com/on-line.html

22. Q. Where can I find DNA ID's?
A. NTSC-US: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/199101C
PAL: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/198137

When i tried to go online with battlefront 2 it cant even connect to the server. It trys to connect to the server for a minute and then it says that i have to review my network config. Its weird cause with all my other online games for the ps2 can go online without any problem with the same network configurations.
It cant be that the dnas id is wrong cause he first connects to the server and then looks if the dnas id is good.
