Well glad thats all cleared up, guess my eyes played tricks on me...anyway thats what happens when I don't get a good nights sleep. Anywho I was hoping for some feedback based on the newly released plugin of DGMPGDec.

How is the progress on the Troy DVD, I'll be making a backup and well I should prepare myself before taking any possible DVD-RB errors. ;-/

DGDecode.dll does a better job. I've been using it for some time now with no problems and it does seem to be a bit faster. So, I see no reason not to use it. You just install the file instead of the MpegDEC and the path is set to it (wherever you put your plugins). I even went with the newer 2.56 version of AviSynth and haven't been suffering any ill effects from that either.

I did Troy also using it and the new version 2.56 of AvSynth! No worries what so ever. Worked great!

I recently made a backup of Collateral Dreamworks and I only was interested in keeping the DTS track. Now here is my question. Being that the Dolby track is under audio track 1 and DTS is on audio track 2, is there a way to automatically adjust the DTS track to 1 by default being that I removed the other audio streams. I noticed this when playing the film and there was no audio until I hit the audio button on my DVD remote and adjusted it to audio track 2. Also for some odd reason, the other tracks remain listed even though there is no audio coming from it. [1:English, 2:English - 754kbps, 3:English, 4:French, 5:English.(Meaning I can hit the audio button to switch to multiple audio streams even though it was removed.)

You edited out the tracks. What you're referring to is part of the menu.

The menu is a different story, that I disable in Remake. But what I mean is I can still shuffle through the audio tracks, perhaps if I was able to get a snapshot somewhere.

I'm getting a error message when trying to use CCE with Rebuilder v0.70. It says "Frame size 968x56 is not supported. Supported frame size is up to 720x576."

For AVS options I have CovertTOY2Y selected and the advanced setting is MPEG2 source.

For the Rebuilder setup the path to the decoder is correct however I'm using dgdecode.dll. Plus I'm using the latest version of AVISYNTH. Can anyone give me suggestions?

Thank you,

The last time I ran into that error it was due to an error in the DVD-RB setup. You might want to delete the DVDRB.INI file and set it up again.

Second what versions of CCE are you useing and what is the version of AviSynth? You can find this out using the menu item on DVD-RB under Help --> Display Version.

Hi all, I have been trying to get the whole thing working for a few days now and keep bumping into the same problem. I get the

#0003 buffer overrun error! at close to the end.

I have reinstalled each software package with the same result. I have read a number of pages in this thread but not the whole 50 odd and come across little that has helped my problem.

The movie files that I am left with before the error are excellent and I get to about 2.5 gig worth of the final working files.

Im using CCE basic,v2.69.01.04 retail. v70 of DVD Rebuilder, AviSynth 2.5.5 the second last release, and tried the most recent one as well.

Any suggestions please, I love the result, and am keen to get it working, It beats splitting the dvds by hand onto two DVDs.

Thanks in advance

Without having to go back to far I'm going to take a shot at answering your question.

When you remove the audio the menu still remains because it is part of video streams not the audio streams.

If you choose to keep the DTS only tracks you had better be sure that you have a DTS encoder. It's usually in your surround amp or receiver. I rarely keep the DTS tracks because of their physical size and they aren't audibly that much better if at all than AC3 6/5 surround.

Help please! Until I upgraded to RB 0.72 + the latest version of DGDecode I never experienced an oversize problem. So I reverted to the previous version of DGDecode, which seemed to fix the problem. So I tried the same movie again, this time selecting "Steal space from Extras (50%)"`(which I have never tried before) and the oversize problem returned! Does anyone have any thoughts? TIA

@ozzy666

Have you done any pre-editing to the film in question?

@ Sophocles...

Well okay, I do remember Shrink elminating unwanted audio being selected but I shouldn't go on to compare...was just wondering thats all. Also yes I have a DTS receiver, DTS has better precision and clarity than Dolby tracks which is why I went that way. ;-)

Hi Gnomex

No, I have reviewd them with Nero 6, but with this one which is Ben Hur and a few others I have had on my HD that I have had trouble figuring out how to split or compress, I have done nothing with. I have tried the four I have on my HD and the same result. I suppose I could try deleting one of them and re doing from scratch. But I have done nothing but rip with DVD Decrypter and view with nero 6.

I read of the pre-editing problem but didnt think it was my problem.

If I open the files with Nero Recode does it re-editing anything? I wouldnt have thought it would.

The movies I have tried with are Ben Hur, disk one and two, Troy, disk one and two, and LOTR/ROTK disk one to four.

Tks

In the guide you're asked to use Mpeg2Dec3dg but the guid was written several months agao and Mpeg2Dec3dg has since been replaced by DGDecode.dll.

I've always found the 00000# errors to be among the most frustrating to resolve but the most common cause was a slight error in setup that got overlooked. Some of the software and versions have changed but the general setup is the same. What versions of RB have you tried and not succeeded with?

Hi, Sophocles

I have used DGDecode.dll. and the original Mpeg2Dec3dg. I have however not tried a previouse version of RB, should i do that. The download says v70, but the version of the software says .69. I assume that is correct.

If trying an older version which is suggested to start with, Keep in mind to test is at least 3 hours each time, as that is how far I get before the error. I dont mind the time as I am determined to correct it, but the less time the better.

PS: Is tht a quote from Sophocles

I'm not suggesting an older version I was just curious as how many versions have thwarted you. The truth is I've used them all and I've never had an error that I didn't cause by editing the movie first.

Here's a sometimes quick fix. When was the last time you defragged your hard disk? I can't remember how many times this has curred a problem.

If you haven't defragged for sometime then I would recommend that you do it at least once a week. When you're ripping and deleting DVDs your playing with some really large files and that's gone to cause serious fragmentation. If you do it regularly it also takes less time to do and your files get better organized over time.

Good Luck!

ozzy666 ,

In the event that other movies have worked for you with DVD-RB, it can't hurt to try ripping the movie with another ripper. Try the trial version of AnyDVD or another tool.
