PES6

"both PS2 and PC versions will feature significantly improved online functionality, with up to eight players now able to compete simultaneously through four linked systems."

Not the 1st time a game site has said a game has online play, and has been wrong. Trust me, I've got the JAP version (Winning Eleven 10) and online play has been removed for this years game.

EDIT:

Manufacturer's Description
The Pro Evolution Soccer series is renowned for its realism, and Pro Evolution Soccer 6 is abundant with new gameplay additions. Player AI has been massively upgraded, with players running intelligently into space when not in possession of the ball and pointing where they want the pass placed to continue the attack. Similarly, the physical side of play has been refined, with players working to turn a defender as they receive the ball, while defenders must learn to stand off slightly to prevent such moves.

Series creator Shingo 'Seabass' Takatsuka has also worked to refine the shooting system of the new game, and players will be able to attempt more snap shots than in previous versions, while volleys and half-volleys have been redesigned. Other new moves include the ability to retain control of the ball when sliding in to tackle, while all-new feints and backwards dribbling are now available thanks to the improved dribbling controls, while headers have been changed to allow players more movement in the way their strikers jump and head the ball.

Pro Evolution Soccer 6 also has a number of new teams licensed for inclusion, with the International roster now featuring the official kits for Argentina, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain and Sweden. Details on official club teams and more national squads will follow.

Other new additions include more balanced referees, and a selection of exciting new gameplay modes. An International Challenge involves leading your home country to victory through a series of entry and tournament rounds, while a Random mode lets the player play quick games within randomly-generated match day settings. The much-loved Master League also returns, allowing players to experience the many highs and lows of steering a team through years of competitive games. Aging players, injuries and pressure from the board all combine to create a truly immersive game where results are everything.

With its slick moves and realistic action, Pro Evolution Soccer 6 is certain to glide past rival titles with ease and enjoys an impressive roster of new moves, licensed clubs, and gameplay modes.
If it had online, Konami would be touting it again. Especially if, as the site you quoted states, it is enhanced.

PES6 IS online.

How do I know this?

Well, over on Evo-Web, some people are BETA testing the PS2 version, and the Network option is clearly there, not only that, I have seen screenshots of it, plus there has been an interview with the guy at KONAMI who has confirmed online play :)

Then explain why, on every games industry website (not public sites like gamespot, ign etc..) none of Konami's press releases mention anything about online play?
WE is ProEvo, ProEvo has always been an exact port of WE, so if its not in WE10, why would it be in PES6, and why would Konami not mention it to the press? Surely it would be a big selling point?

I've seen the pic m8. But Konami have listed all the features of PES6 on a few industry sites, and DO NOT mention online play. What they do mention are the exact same features that WE10 has, which is consistent with every other PES game ported from their WE franchise.
Its not the 1st time a games' company has pulled the plug on online play after a BETA version. Remember Electronic Arts & Need For Speed? Everyone argued that NFS: Most Wanted had online play, until the game was released, and EA had removed that function, despite previous games in the series having the feature.

The only people that can confirm if the final version has online play, are Konami. And at this moment in time, they are saying it doesn't!
If they decide to include it at a later stage, then great. And I'm quite sure they'll include that info in future press releases, and a lot of people will be happy. But until then, with evidence from Konami themselves, we must assume that there is NO online play in the final version.

Sorry mate, I wont go on with the arguement, its not many times you are wrong, but come the release day for PES6, you will see that you are ;)

I see where your coming from with your point, but it will have online play, and interviews with Sebass (from KOMANI) have already confirmed this, saying they are working more on the online side of things then the single player side of the game :)

lol. Yeah right. Now that definately won't happen!

Sony PS2 gamers playing against MicroSoft owning PC users! Think about it! The technology's different for a start. Next you'll be telling us that you can also play against X-Box gamers too!

Yes, official retail Disc 2 ID at backupscene.

EDIT: I hired this earlier today, and have just finished working with it.
The ID at backupscene is 100% correct, however, it won't go online from a backup, even using the EXACT same ID as the rented copy had on the disc I burnt from the rented retail version. 403 Error.

Looks like if you really want to play this online, then you'll need to do it on the NTSC version from a backup, or buy the PAL version.

Reeeeeeally. Hmm, let me see.

Winning Eleven series by Konami
http://uk.gamespot.com/ps2/sports/worlds...ven9/index.html (WE9 - note online symbol on JAP box)
http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=27&products_id=8847 (WE10 - note NO online symbol on box)
J League Soccer by.............oh!.....SEGA!!!
http://uk.gamespot.com/ps2/sports/jleagu...rou5/index.html

Feel free to do your own Google search, but I think you'll find that Winning Eleven & J-League are by different companies & that Pro Evo Soccer is an EXACT port of the JAP Winning Eleven franchise.
Winning Eleven 9 had online play (as can be seen from the JAP boxshot in the link above), so did Pro Evo 5.
Winning Eleven 10 does NOT have online play (as seen on JAP box in link above), neither will PES6.

So, frenzie, before you go trying to show your knowledge, make sure you back it up with facts & do your research before posting, otherwise you make a fool of yourself matey!
It's obviously YOU that has no clue what you're talking about!
