The last update on the site was April 9th in the news section.
Plus I have e-mailed them a few times asking them when the site will be updated with the FAQ and SUPPORT FORUMS but I have not received anything back from them.
They have the link for those pages but when you click on them it only says coming soon.
Just would be nice to get something so you know they are still there and backing up their product.
Maybe they are to busy working on the next update for the chip. That would be nice.

larry or anyone,
I bought my wiikey back in Feb I believe, but doid not install it until about 5-6 weeks ago when I finally was able to buy the wii.
I do not play GC games, so if I want to install the "latest" firmware version of the wiikey, should I download this Setup disc v1.1 US NTSC (no GC joypad required, toggle settings with reset) , burn to a disc (Nero?) and "run" the disc in the wii?
Or, if I want to do GCs, do I need to get a GC gamepad and install this Setup disc v1.0 US NTSC (requires GC joypad) ?
Thanks.

The latest Wiikey update disc is 1.2 so i would burn that update disc and use it.
You can use a Game Cube controller with the Wiikey update disc to navigate the menu. If you do not have a Game Cube controller then you will need to use the (reset button) to navigate through the Wiikey setup menu.

Weeeeeeeell, I guess they'll never release it lol. I think I'm gonna have to buy another chip if I want to play Eternal Darkness and Star Fox Adventures.
I'll give them ONE more month before I take the Wiikey out of my Wii.

just curious about what you said with 1.2. isn't that for PAL systems only?
if so he shouldn't run that b/c I'm guessing he's NTSC. atleast that was my understanding, i'm running 1.1 and everything works fine on my end. but no, you don't need 1.0 to play GC. The only thing they are referring to is the setup.

Read what the setup link states...
Setup disc v1.2 (Universal PAL/USA/JAP - see readme)
So version 1.2 is for all 3 regions. Which you should be using the latest update release.
Check for yourself...

I just copied it using rawdump, then shrunk it via gcm utility .5 and burned it in a multi disk with WiiUI, and it didnt give me any problems.
I burned at 6x using Nero on verbatim DVD-R 16x media.

Yes, I am NTSC, sory i did not clarify. So should I run 1.1 or 1.2?
And, not to sound to dumb, but do I just insert the disc (DVD-R) with the program on it, and it self starts and runs?

Ah, so you burned it as a multi-disc. I want to just burn it with the image alone- not using any multi-disc programs. I want to be able to use Action Replay codes on it.
If you have a spare DVD, then try doing that. Then you'll see (or hear) the sound problems.

I read somewhere that when you use the multi-disc program it enables an audio fix on the image file.

I think it was bass_hit that I had suggested to see if a multi-disc would fix the audio issue and he tried it but didn't fix the audio.

I found this on another site...
Quote: I've just got done talking with Emu_Kidid the author of the very popular GCOS software that originally was a BIOS replacement for the Nintendo GameCube and has migrated to the Nintendo Wii. GCOS can be utilized for various purposes and one of it's popular features is the ability to boot MultiGame Discs. These discs can contain two or more GameCube games saving you blank discs.
Emu_Kidid gave me a list of features that will be included in the next version of GCOS. It includes an In Game Reset (IGR) feature, Region Fixes and most noteworthy Dual Layer (DVD9) Disc Support. The DVD9 Support comes as a treat to Wiikey owners as you'll be required to own one of these chips to take advantage of the feature. Additionally, you'll need to update your Wiikey with the latest software which is scheduled to hit soon. Looks like this release sheds some light on the rumors circulating about the Wiikey site being down.
* Dual Layer Support (Wiikey Only)
* Now list more than 3 games (7 or 8 per screen)
* Goes straight to games list - no reset unless needed
* Self bootable discs are not explored, but bootable now.
* IGR via eject button (back to the first thing on the DVD)
* Press A or Start to select a game
* Long game names are now cut
* Region fixes yet again
* Videomode in menu is now detected from the previous loader
I know this is about GCoS but it had some interesting news about Wiikey and the DVD9 feature which will only be available for Wiikey owners. I don't know how reliable this source is but figured id post it anyway.

1. cloned chip
2. alzheimers (shaky hands are never good for soldering)
3. 100w iron - you burned the damn thing, so quit whining. (Or did you use carbide tank and gas welding kit ? :D )
Go buy another wiikey and try again. I had recently 2 wiis modded and all is well. So, i suggest a look in a mirror before you blame other things...
