Wow why all the hate for gamecopy pro ha?! Jk.

I used it like 5 years ago, I think? I thought it was like the best think ever. It does work, for pc games, to an extent. It wasn't until I found Alcohol that I realized how sucky it was.

But for low level users, gamecopy pro is a good place to learn about isos, virtual disks, and junk.

Hi!

I cant beleive you tried to feed us this crap, really are you dumb enough to think we would fall for it.

A top of the range PC with an i7 Quad Core, 4GB Ram, top of the range graphics card, could play a few PS2 games emulated ok, there is no way that it could run a 360 or PS3 and i dont think it could emulate the WII either.

The only way you could play PSX games without a mod chip is playing them on your PC instead with ePSXe...

http://www.epsxe.com/

There are other emulators for the PSX but I found this one the most reliable and compatible.

yup epsxe is the best out there with gr8 video pluggins to grab.
No need to patch the psx game or anything, use .....
Slysofts "clone cd" and burn it to a iso, remember though, its a cd not dvd and should all work well.

omg..... obviously FAKE! ya cant do anything with Ps3 backups even if ya could created them..... (i havnt heard of a working ps3 backup yet!)
as for WII backups... if ya got the new update from nintendo ya cant use backups no more.... however there is a work around with memory cards/sticks, but i dont know how it works yet. xbox360.... what can i say.... microsoft may be checking the file dump on drives to check for modded firmwares.... chipped or not microsoft have been banning even offline users that never had xboxlive.... possibly using there games video partition(where the nxe update sits) to run security checks now.... so backups are a waste now pplz.... shame huh ....

If it's broken..... fix it or .... nah just fix it.

Hey guys...
I'm so new to this please excuse the ignorance. I've tried to read as much as I can about backing up Wii discs but there seems to be many different opinions. I just rec'd a wii for this xmas and was looking into legally backing my discs up. I do it for my DVD and I know how important it is. Please, anyone point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

Well, you can start by posting in the right forum. Not many people are going to help someone who doesn't even know where to direct his questions.

Thanks for reviving this thread in order to ask something completely unrelated to the thread discussion.

Hi:

I have been watching this thread with some interest. I just paid $29.95 for Game Copy Wizard. Has anyone else done this? And are they a scam too ?? They tell me about the same things that Game Copy Pro does and they have a members only site. There are many files to download there (I think they require you to have the original to download the file).

Anyways there is a lot of information there for anyone that pays to use....

Seeing as how backups of PS3 games cannot be played, it should go without saying that you got duped.

There are so many software nowadays that's capable of creating backups of your game disc. I use DVD Decrypter and Raw Dump for creating and burning DVD based games, even movies (PS2, Wii, Gamecube, XBOX, PC Games, DVD Movies, etc.) and ImgBurn for CD based games (PS1, PS2, PC Games, XBOX, and so much more). Best of all, it costs ZERO dollars and works better than most of those "paid-for" softwares.

Is that a good way of backing up PS# games?

Thank you
That software is a scam and absolutely does NOT work as advertised for ANYTHING it "supposedly" works for.
I know that it also says on about every game system, that you need a mod chip. The only game system it is not required is the xbox 360. I will have to check it again, but I don't think ps3 was even mentioned on my copy.

well the xbox360 is half right, you either gotta have a modchip or stealth hack firmware installed on its dvd drive. it will not play backups on an unmodded console.
all they offered us for years (why we say its a scam) is it makes ppl pay for progrmas free on the internet.... they may have amended their sales by removing the crap about ps3 backup, but its just to suck new ppl in to pay them..... i just want 10 minutes with a sledge hammer an their pc's to teach those scammers a lesson....

LoL...the PS3 plays backups great. It isn't so good for pirated game copies on bluray, but actual backups usually work with ease.

LOL. Dude. Which rock have you been hiding under??? The PS3 IS capable of playing backups (since the middle of last year, 2010). Also, nobody makes or play backed-up game discs anymore. The last time I, or anybody I knew, played a backed-up game disc, was in 1998 on the Sega Dreamcast. Had HDLoader on PS2 (2001), loaded/played games from hard drive, and the rest was history.

@ vick79, not every console needs a mod chip. Since 2002, mod chips were considered obsolete for all existing, newer, and future consoles. Mod chips were popular and most people only knew about this method during the early 2000's because it was widely advertised as mod chips were faster, more compatible and was a more convenient way to boot backups/homebrew. As the PS2 modding/hacking scene grew, "softmodding" was introduced - modifying the console via softwares/codes, instead of hardmodding (mod chips). From 2003 til now, most people (at least the one's I know), myself included, uses softmodding as our method of modding.

My only chipped/hardmodded consoles are - my PS1 & GameCube (Dreamcast plays burned disc out the box). The rest of my consoles are softmodded - PS2, XBOX (first original version), Wii, PSP, Nintendo DS, & PS3. And Wcanywayz, I do play backups and make copies of my PS3 games, directly from my PS3 and PS3's internal & external hard drive.

oh and the ps2 hdd they released was not released to australia, we missed out on that having to rely on modchips to play backups dics.... now though theres the memcard hack so it doesnt hurt the warranty....
i remember the days before the ps2 was released to our country, lmao they thought we could use the hdd and the power of the ps2 to hack government sites, lol so we got a locked console release.... lol those were the days :P

Actually in Japan, they have this bundle called BB Navigation for the PS2. It was never released outside of Japan, as many used it to hack various domains. Many years later, a slimmed & stripped version, "PS2 Linux", was released in the US. It's similar to BB but not as opened and functional. Many tried to use PS2 Linux to hack but failed (unless they had a TEST system.) If rigged properly, the PS2 was capable of becoming a super computer, as the chips and technology used for PS2 was more advance and powerful than most PC's during that era. I know rules and regulations in Australia are pretty strict, so YES, if fallen into the hands or an unethical hacker, this can become a threat and that's probably one of the reason why they don't release certain products/items in your country. But that was they old PS2 days. Currently, the US military took 1,700 PS3, rigged it, and turned it a World Super Computer. Seen this coming, hence the removal of "OtherOS" on newer PS3 firmwares. The PS3 Super Computer is ranked 3rd place worldwide.

Anyway, you should really look into the PS3 hack/homebrew scene. Lots of interesting stuff happening. I was trying to get this Dev to write a all-in-one PS3 homebrew Media Player that supports the most popular video codecs (mp4, Divx/xviD, avi, mkv, flv, rmvb, etc.) along with direct loading of subtitle files (sub, srt, txt, etc) and the following audio codec support - ac3, midi, wav, wma, ogg, m4a, etc, which is something Sony should have included to begin with. Don't worry, not every one in the PS3 hack scene are pirates. Some are more ethical and have more legitimate use for hacked console than others. I don't know Aussie's pirating law too well, but I believe as long as you don't use your hacked console for pirating games, you should be fine.
