Anyone having problems with NTheLL in Galway lately? last week or so my internet and sagem 2x have been going down a lot. When I turn on my dbox i get a channel not available message on screen, sig and bitrate are 0. after leaving the dbox on for a few minutes it usually starts up but is very chirpy for a while before settling down but it still freezes more than before. Using Blade (1st version i think, not trinity anyway) and Irish8 cables file scanning nthelldublinbf. Are Nthell messing around or do i need to flash a newer image and /or update cablesxml?

Sky via satellite is not hacked. The theme of the whole thread is cable and a little bit mmds.
Sorry, I thought the thread was called D-box in Ireland, not cable d-box in Ireland! I'm finished with this forum before I've even started, every time I ask something I get some a@@-hole telling me what I can and cant ask. Pity they did'nt put as much effort into trying to help somebody out who did'nt come out of the womb with a keyboard on his lap!

Sky via satellite is simply not hacked.
It doesn't matter if you accept that fact or not.

hi all.
i know this forum is for d-box in ireland but i was wondering if anyone could direct me to a site/forum/link.
i have a d-box in dublint and we subscribe to nthell lol and its great, however my mum lives in washington in tyne and wear in england (between sunderland and newcastle)
she recieves several fta channels through her cable including uk gold etc.
i tried my d-box in her cable plug and did a bruteforce uk scan and got nothing at all.
does she have to have an nthell subscription ?
i did try several images but maybe not the correct one can anyone point me to the correct image ???
sorry for the lobg message and thanks for your time and patience reading this far...
cheers

She has to have a basic cable subscription, techno-source.co.uk has a download section with images, you'll have to build up your post count before you can access it though.

As MGB says, you cannot get S** without a subscription. A Sat box with a Gemini or Neutrino image on it will not work on a Sky dish. You can get Sat boxes and presumably you can decode the encrypted channels on other Sat providers. I have not done that myself but I am sure someone on here can shed more light on this for you. Hope this helps...

Hi, can anyone help me out here? I've got a Nokia Dbox 2 I'm living in Kilcock in Co. Kildare and currently have Chorus digital as a provider. I tried hooking up my box and scanning but it's not finding the service provider or any channels. Does the Dbox2 work on chorus? Do I need to load any software on it? Does anyone have any trouble shooting documents out there?

Are you MMDS or cable ???? If you are MMDS, the DBox will not work !!!! If you are cable, you will need to load a cables file for Ireland so that you can scan.... Search this forum for the file...

I too am in Galway but am not experiencing any major issues with it. It does freeze every now and again but its rare.
I have Nokia with Sportster 1.7
Does anyone know what Setanta channels are available in the Galway reigon?? If more than 3, can someone point me in the right direction as to how to go about getting the full list?

Cheers Mossyd,
Setanta 1,2 Irl, golf, nasn are available along with the celtics etc.if setanta 1 and golf are missing its because nthell moved them to the old sly movies 9 and 10. do a rescan and they should show up as the last channels.

check the box from Ch***and see if it says anything on the back about MMDS.Yes, you ftp to the box and place the cables.xml file in var/share or var/tuxbox/config. delete the scan config file there also, reboot the box and you should have the option to scan ch****

Thanks Alan, I may not understand most of what you say, but it's a civil response. The only reason I asked is I see them for both cable and satalite on ebay and I could get either, having both sky and ntl.

Hi guys. I have my Dbox2 working perfectly now on Blade (thanks Ruprect etc). As I mentioned previously, I bought a new lcd tv (samsung LE32S81) but the signal seems very poor on most channels. I was wondering if it might be a scart problem? I am using the scart that I got when I had my NT£ digital. there is no menu on my tv to change the settings as suggested earlier. Would one of those gold plated scarts improve it at all? I am also using a signal booster I purchased in Argos.
Thanks again. You're all doing a great job here by the way :)
