I followed your directions which are awesome by the way, I am just too much of a NEWB to get it right. I guess some info on my system is this. Laptop, and old Compact Pesario with an external Lite On DVD burner. I am running XP. I also have DVD Xcopy Platnuim. I D/L all the programs you said to do. One thing is that I created the files to put the videos in under "my documents" and made a "dump file" and then made a sub folder called VIDEO_TS to put the movies in. I did put the FixVts in a new Temp folder because I didn't have one. and directed it to that. The only thing I saw that was differnt then what you had was the VTS had the "In place (no backup) box checked. Other then that I get to about the 4th step and it gives me a meassage.

Let's start with setup
Place your RipIt4Me and FixVTS dl in a folder, the zip files, extract the zips to that folder. Then got to your Documents and Settings and just delete the current RipIt4Me folder.

Go back and Double Click to install RI4M. Then open the program and check your settings, direct the path to the FixVTS program

You will notice a box in the settings that states Include Video_TS folders, check this and you will no longer have to create your own RI4M will now do it for you.
If your setup is correct use the 1Click mode and it should then do everything automatically for you.

Just decide if you[ want Full/Movie Only/Movie + Menu or Iso.

Are you able to rip the movie, what problem are you having with your burner. I run two external burners and there should be no problems.

I don't seem to have a problem ripping the movie. I just get to the last part, I think it's step four and all the apps close. It did give me an error message with the FixVts. I am going home for lunch and getting my laptop. I will backup a copy here @ work and tell you the error message. I will alos redo the folders like you told me to and let you know.

If you are getting the error during the FixVTS stage this is not an issue with your burner as that process has not even begun. Try redoing the setup and make sure of your settings.

Does this movie complete the process with FixVTS because the program should correct this error. Did you use the 1Click mode as Shrink should automatically open on its own after you are done? Are you choosing Full DVD or Movie Only?

It goes into the 4th step and asks to open with DVD Shrink. If it doesn't work it says use FixVts then open with Shrink. I used the Fix and then it gave me the error message. I was trying to back up Narnia. I used the wizard since this was my first time. I tried doing the whole disk. Should I just do the movie?

Use the 1Click mode you need to use FixVTS on this. The 1Click will open all programs automatically as long as you have your paths correct. If this is not working for you, then try using DVDFab Decrypter and ripping to your Hard Drive and then run the file through VobBlanker and use Shrink. You can look at my buddy Alkohol's guide for this process.

Thanks Arnie!! I got it to work...using the wizard mode and not 1click...I still don't know what the problem was, but I'm happy for now. I will try that other movie when I get it back from my niece. My paths were correct, but I re-installed all apps except for DVD Shrink (because I know that works). Has anyone else tried backing up Narnia? Let me know if you run into issues with it. Thanks again!!

Great guide. Never an easier guide to follow. Just tried ripit4me without any error messages or problems.
PROBLEM: Just that when playing the ripped DVD the menu doesn't work. Tried this on 2 DVDs and had the same problem.
Previously, I'd use DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink and the menu would work.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

@onefrom
Make sure you have the latest version of the program, this problem should be corrected with this version.
@wae
Sony ARccOS/Puppetlock and Ripguard will put in blank frames, also there will be references in the ifo to chapter/cells that are not there so after ripping when you try to open the file if you get it ripped, it will look for the non-existent file. FixVTS will clean up the blank and unreferenced cells and create another ifo so the file will be recognized.

You need to dl DVD Decrypter, if you do not have it, RipIt4Me and FixVTS, you already have DVDShrink. Got back to the beginning of the thread and look at the guide, for setup and programs needed. You are getting this warning because it is not properly setup.
1. Download and install DVD Decrypter
2. Download unzip and install RipIt4Me
3. Unzip FixVTS to a folder you have created.
4. Go into the settings and make sure your path for FixVTS points to the FixVTS exe file that is in the folder you have created.
Once setup correctly you should have not problems.
