@holycOw...
You had also mentioned that you ripped with decrypter, and then edited with Shrink. This might not make a difference, but skipping decrypter, and only ripping and editing with Shrink might be the way to go. Never-the-less, I still have #0003 problems once in a while when I get Shrink involved. I've never had a problem sending the whole DVD through, though, and the quality is still amazing.

I think I'm going to try that first...skip over DVD Decryptor and do it all in Shrink.
I looked at dvdremake and...I just can't spend any more money on this. That's what I get for being unemployed. Can you recommend any other programs?

Interesting what gets added to to beginning of links posted here... Not that I mind, a little advertising never hurt anyone I guess.
Note again: Whaaa.. it's gone now??? (visualize head scratching)

@jdobbs. I think it's been on everyone's mind.
@Brian100. Thanks. I've looked through the DVD Stripper guide a little bit. I see how things are stripped, but I'm wondering how they get identified in the first place? Is there some kind of viewer I missed, or does one use something like Shrink to zero in on the files?

Doc
You can set up a default viewer from within DVD stripper. As you use DVDremake (i think) I wouldnt bother with stripper.

One of things that have made my experience using DVD-RB/CCE Basic So postive is that I've never really experienced a failure (except for that copy of DareDevil I hacked to bits). In fact most of the people who encountered repeat failures were using CCE-SP and I think it probably caused more than a few to give up altogether. I studied and tried the different alternatives but it soon became clear to me that if I wanted to get the best possible results then DVD-RB with CCE Basic was it. BTW, I?ve never tried CCE SP.

Hey bigo
And it's not even dark. It's not the kids; I've been put on the technology committee and I?ve been look and developing PC labs for our school. If that wasn?t enough now they want me to work on our web site as well. You?re right about the miss spell I?ve been doing lots of those lately.

Hey soph, just kidding, my wife just fussed at me, she's sympathetic to all teachers. See, now you got me in trouble. Thanx a lot!
On another note, is Procoder a software? What is the USB for? Doc told me it's an external device, now he says not after jdobbs said no to that. I know you can shed light on this, bad spelling and all. heh heh

Hello Everyone!
I am having a problem. I set up RBFarm on a second PC to save some time. Everything was running great so I thought. All the segments that were encoded on the second PC are just black screen with orange lines at the bottom. I read up and found this is caused by MPEG2Dec3dg.dll in wrong place/missing etc. I have that dll file on the second PC. I tried it in the DVD Builder folder and in the AviSynth plugin folder. Both places are still giving me the black screen on the second PC. My main PC with RBFarm is encoding fine.
Specs
PC that isn't working right
CCE 2.50
EclCCE to launch
AviSynth 2.5
AMD Tbird 1200 Mhz
512mb PC133 ram
XP Pro

Stolen, doc will agree with me, DVDrebuilder/CCE is the absolute best pic you can have reducing DVD9 to DVD5-bar NONE!
Especially for large amts. of compression like 40 to 50 percent. It is hard to tell the copy from the original.
In other words, it is well worth the 58.00.
Another app you may want to consider is DVDremake(25.00), works well with RB/CCE since RB/CCE has no re-author capabilities. It is the BEST editing prog I have seen out there. It will even remove the link that takes you to the extra you have removed.
So, for a total of 83.00 you would have the best backup you can buy, unless you want to spend 2,000.00 for CCE SP. Shrink will also work with RB/CCE, it's a freebie. The choice is up to you.

Yes, you can copy DVD 5, but with no compression, i would just use shrink or decrypter in ISO mode and do a 1:1 copy, since there would be no compression.
You must remember, this app's quality is awesome but it ain't fast. Most of us do it while sleeping, and now batch processing seems to be the up and coming trend. Either way, when you wake up ya got a 10 minute burn to do(per movie) and you're done.

One thing, some have experienced problems with CCE 2.69, do not worry. Once you buy it, if this happens you can download version 2.67 using your purchase info from 2.69. You do not have to buy it again. Besides, others have had no problems at all. If you get errors 0003 or 0004 then try 2.67 and see if that corrects it.

Thanks again.... I know I should asked some of these in other Forums.
When working with under 5's, either one of those will give you perfect quality also ? Which media works best (MSI 8x -/+)
One last question, Multi episode DVDs , like Sopranos, anything I should look out for ? That is the 99% main reason I am trying this stuff out.

With no compression, quality should be as good as the original.
Buy Ritek G04 at Meritline. Cost-.52 ea. per 100 w/free shipping. Verbatim is good also, but ya can't beat this deal.
Are you making episodic DVD's or copying them. To copy, works just like copying a movie. To make I use NVE(nerovision express) and create my own menus(so I can go to any episode I wish) after compressing and re-authoring.
Good luck....

stolen...I've been off line for awhile, but as bigorange says, the RB-CCE software combination will give you the best picture possible. Also, the folks on this thread value quality over all else, and RB-CCE is what we use. You will soon find that the quality it yields puts it into a class all by itself.
The $58 CCE Basic is said to have the same encoding engine as the $2000 SP package, however the Basic version doesn't have all the features that are typically used in other video applications.

Im going towards quality above all else also. So I dont mind spending $60 for something that works. But before I spent, wanted to make sure it was the best thing kicking within reason.

Well, I finally got it to work using CCE SP 2.50...no idea why it wouldn't work with the others. I have to say that it's very hard to tell the difference between the original and the compressed movies.
A couple questions...is there any difference in quality between CCE SP2.5/SP2.67/Basic? Also, is there any noticeable difference in quality setting VBR_Passes higher than 2? Thanks for all the help.
