I got a slight problem. I am backing up Smallville Season 2. I have done three disk and have audio sync problems on all three. All happen about 3/4 of the way into the movie. It last for about 2-3 minutes and the audio corrects itself. The audio jumps ahead but almost a second I would say. Tried 2 different standalone players and still have sync problem.

Maybe something else.....
When you set the VBR higher, for example 5, then RB + CCE_SP 2.67.00.27 will only do 1 pass. With eclCCE this is done correct.

A note to everyone. Don't use CCE SP v2.67.00.27 with DVD-RB. It has inconsistencies and doesn't work correctly. You are doing one pass encoding because the ECL is being misread as CBR. The output can also be massively oversized, or you may possibly have to answer a settings or "Save" prompt dozens of times before saving.
This is a problem with CCE -- they have apparently changed the meaning of some of their ECL parameters -- although the details aren't completely known yet. Cinemacraft has a terrible habit of changing these things without rhyme or reason as to why. My best guess is that any fix to make that version work will have to be done either by ECLCCE or a combination of ECLCCE and DVD-RB.
In the meantime, anyone who uses CCE SP v2.67.00.27 is on his/her own... my suggestion is "don't."

@holycow:
is there any difference in quality between CCE SP2.5/SP2.67/Basic?
I've wondered the same thing. As a purchaser of Basic, I recently sent an email to CCE asking what the differences are. When I find out, I'll post it in the FAQ's.
Also, is there any noticeable difference in quality setting VBR_Passes higher than 2?
See FAQ #5
@noneleft.
I have done three disk and have audio sync problems on all three.
What CCE/version are you using?

jdobbs, is this across the board? I've been using 2.67, before with 2.69 I was getting errors 0003 or 0004, especially with DVDRemake. Since I changed to 2.67, no problems at all, they are all coming out at 4.33 to 4.34. It is also doing 2 passes, this I know cos I've sat and watched it. It takes 3-4 hours(sometimes as long as 6 on really large files), the same as with 2.69. You are freaking me out! HELP!

The hurricane has turned away from us and all we're going to get are minimal force hurricane to tropical storm winds.
I think I'm going to celebrate with an expensive software purcahse.
thanks for the concern.

I am about an hour east of Charlotte County, Highlands County. Shouldnt get the worst of it, but its turn wasn't good news for us.
Quick question, after I rip the DVD using this process, do I still need the Original DVD ? First time trying this, and dont have any blank DVDs... and going to the store isnt going to work out today :(

I see, but it was good for us in Tampa. If it had entered the bay it might have reached category 5 status but even a category 4 could have caused hundreds of deaths.
Tampa hasn't been hit by a major hurricane since 1921 and we aren't ready for it.
I wish you good luck.

stolen, take care, it's supposed to be at it's worse when it hits the coast.
I don't really understand your question, no you don't need the source video after you rip, but how does that help you with not having any blank media?

Sorry we got lost in the moment.

Only for legalities! Once you've ripped it to your hard disk, even if the hurricane blew it to the next county you will stil be able to transcode, encode, re edit it, but eventually burn it at your whim.

I'm sorry I took so long to reply to you problem.
Your pathways to AVIsynth and Rebuilder need to be the same as on the server.
This happened to me also. But my farm is now working properly.
If you need help with the specifics then let me know how your machines are set up.

I should tell everyone I fixed my audio sync problem on the TV series DVD I was doing. I read another person was having same problem and older version of MPEG2Dec3.dll fixed it.

I continued trying out DVD Rebuilder, but no luck so far. This is what I did so far:
(1) Used DVD Decrypter to back up my movie (about 5.7 GB)
(2) Opened up DVD Rebuilder(V 0.56). I chose Transcode(I have One-Click Mode ticked). It continued for hours and hours. At the end of it, there was this error message"Buffer Overflow-Must Abort". When I clicked ok, the transcoding stopped. I still have about 10 GB of free hard drive space.
I looked up the folder.And there were three folders-D2VAVS(3.5 GB), VIDEO_TS(710 MB) and AUDIO_TS.
Any advise would be more than welcome!! I am really very keen to try this out.
Thanks!!!
