Not at all, just keep them coming and I'll check them out as fast as I can. Besides, summer is coming and I'm off for two months to play, and if that doesn't get me started and on task then hurricane season will.

I processed a DVD with DVDRB/CCE and burnt the result. However the disc was doggy I think as I ended with a skipper. The files in my Temp directory were deleted after the burn however I still have the D2VAVS folder with all the encoded .Vafs and .M2V files. Is there any way to do the last bit of the process again "Rebuild" or will I have to run it from the beginning again.

Did you check the original for the same skip. The problem also could have occurred during ripping. I've never tried going back to the D2VAVS folder to try and rebuild again, and I don't have any D2VAVS folders to experiment with. If you want to try it, open DVD-RB and go to mode at the top left of your tool bar and uncheck "One Click Mode" and then look to the bottom right and you'll see the rebuild tab. If this was the last movie that you completed then click the tab and see if it will rebuild your movie. Like I said I've never tried but I am curious.

You can certainly rebuild again if you have the D2VAVS directory intact. But you will also need the original source directory. Audio and subpictures are pulled from the orignal during rebuild.

quick question:
If I use AnyDVD, would it be wise to use the actual disc as the source in Rebuilder without ripping it first?

LOL People are saying I'm so verbose, I couldn't resist the temptation of that short answer. To explain why quickly. Time. Your DVD drive would be spending a lot more time running (many more hours on the laser and the associated wear). That's not including the additional time it will add to the backup process. Remember, you can do a rip with Decrypter in something like 15 min and run that from the hard drive. Just think how much faster the hard drive is compared to accessing the files on the disc from the DVD drive. If you have the time to spend, run the AnyDVD and run RB/CCE on the fly. If you're anything like most people, you'll probably cancel out before completion.

thanks brobear. I don't know why I didn't think of that. Usually I'm smarter than that, I don't know what happened. Oh well...

Just as a long as you're on topic and you include an index.

Hi all,
I'm using DVD-RB 0.85A with CCE Basic 2.69.
I've set "CCETargetSectors=2260000" setting as suggested on DVD-RB advanced guide. The process completes successfully with only some "missing frames" messages.
However, for some reason the output directory is only about 2GB in size while I'm expecting something above 4GB.
Could anyone shed some light on this?
Thanks

I installed version 0.84 and overwrote it with files from 0.85A zip. Here are some excerpts from the log file that rebuilder put in the working directory:

Done.
[22:50:19] PREPARE/ENCODE/REBUILD completed in 116 min.
and there were dropped frames in every segment.
The original is 6.77GB big. That's after I removed stuff with DVD Shrink. Log says there was 58.9% reduction and Space for Video is 3,769,228KB. But the output directory is only 2.17GB and the quality is far from good -- not even as good as a 700meg divx file.

It will be out of beta sometime in the next month. That's the reason you are seeing so many updates. I'm cleaning up the remaining errors before I lock it down. I also have a couple of enhancements to the Pro Version that I want to be in before I release v1.00. The VIPs will probably see a release candidate in the near future.

I've never heard of anything like that before... Are you talking about the "Encode" button in DVD-RB?
