No 1..spend the extra money & get a clone dreambox 800HD,..if your going to pay for access to a cardserver the HD channels are included, PM sent.

Sorry my apologies i should have made it clearer, I was saying unless u know some thing about setting the actual machine up, one would get lost, in the setup of the unit, sorry Lenny if you picked it up wrong.

Hi all,
Very interesting thread! I have a few ?hypothetical? questions:
Suppose someone was using card-sharing to share a shy subscription, wouldn't they have to put their card into their host receiver (e.g. dreambox). Doesn?t the card need to be in the shy box in order to update?
Secondly, don?t all shy installations require the box to be connected to a phone line? How could we be sure that the shy box doesn?t send usage statistics down the phone line. It would be easy to analyze the usage stats to figure out that the original shy box was only being used to update the card (not being watched).
Am I completely missing something? Probably, but would love some clarification (regarding the hypothetical problem)

just wordering if any 1 can point me in the right direction iv been looking in to this i thinking about going down this route please could some one tell me the best site for this is satcarsharing.com a gd one or not

Hey Craig your best bet is to go to cardshare.tv or cs-kings. Read up on the various servers and people opinions of these. Then try out a test.
Thats what I did and now have a very stable server with all the packs I was looking for.
As mentioned earlier stay clear of satcardsharing or any site dedicated to one server as you won't get honest opinion.

HI all just brushed over the therad could not see what i am looking for but could have missed it. Looking to see if i could use a wireless connection on the dreambox or has it to be cable.

hi i received a dreambox500s yesterday i have a problem with it in that it won't switch on or off the led light is constantly on green but wont react to the remote or when i turn it off manually the light stays green and nothing comes up on my tv basically it does nothing i bought it from dreamboxs-store.co.uk who happen to be in hong kong any ideas lads

Vincheno, it was something I was looking into, now ya can buy HOMEPLUGS(google it) they allow ya to connect to your modem wireless if your unit is not wireless, was thinking in investing in them myself as my modem is upstairs to the TV i would be using
