Yep Verbatim 20 packs. They exsist. Well these are 16x DVD+R discs. When I burned Burnout 3, I burned them at 2.4x which was the slowest speed possible for me. I'm not sure what you meant by mfg code, but I used DVD Decryptor to find the disc ID (hope thats what you meant, if not tell me otherwise) and they are MCC-004-00. Do you happen to know if Memorex is good for burning games? If not then I'll go with your suggestion.

Hey...check the previous pages on the info. It wasn't hard, the link is also provided.
Just get the program, and insert an already copied dvd, and run the scans.
Depending on what you have on it, it can take anywhere from a couple of minutes to like over an hour.
But I would like to see those results as well when you get them done.

CagadaMan, What burner and model # do you have?
I haven't tried any of those 16x + verbs,I usually see them in the 25 pack spindle, and that code seems about right for them.I was just curious about the code.
Edit, I forgot about those memorex you were asking about. Some people love em,some people have trouble with them. They have numerous outside manufacturers-so it's hard to find the discs with the better mfg codes on them.
That's why I mentioned maxell, easy to get locally, and their mfgs are very good: Ritek go4/hitachi-maxell/ty/ricohjpn.

Office depot. They were having a lot of sales on them.
When on sale, I have bought spindles of 50 for $20
Spindles of 25 for $10
Spindles of 15 for $6
The last batch I bought, $35 for spindle of 50 and a free 50 pack spindle of the same format and speed.
Their sales usually include 4x or 8x,not just a certain speed only. They should be going back on sale shortly.

venomXO5: Already got the media scan program and did the scan. My problem is how to post the JPG result on the site, which I didn't see addressed. Thanks.

Find a photo hosting site, such as photobucket, imageshack etc.Upload your pic on the site to get the url. When you have the url then you put it in between these [ img ] [ / img ] without the spaces.

Sorry bruce,
I thought the site addy was on there.
Also, if you want another site for the image host, you can use this one:
http://www.imageweb.info/index.php
I personally like this one and it is really cool.
Yeah, jim_dandy pretty much summed it up as far as posting the image online, and that is all you need to do.
Hope to see the results soon!

I never had any problem with Memorex DVD+R (CMC MAG F01) but now i'm using Memorex from Moser Baer India and they are very good, better than the ones from CMC.
Anyway, check this scans from Memorex media (CMC) burned 9/10 months ago.
Not bad :)
Very good scan (except the fourth).

All: Prompt input is really appreciated and educational for a not-quite-over-the-hill 'newbie.' So this the analysis of just recorded DVD of a Woody Allen movie. I looked at several recent discs, all of which have played fine both on the computer and in the living room stand-alone.

All:
Here's another shot. The brand on the media was Maxell, purchased about a year ago. Since this was my intro to DVD burning, I attribute some coasters mostly to ignorance and blundering. When I figured a few things out, they seemed to work fine. This is archival TV newscasts recorded off cable TV.

jim_dandy: Point of clarification. The InfoDisc was packaged as Memorex, purchased from Walmart in the states. Where is the setting to reduce the target size? And by the way, as I run out to get some new blanks, do any of you have any information about Phillips (certainly a venerable name) media? A friend here on Saipan has a source for them in the Philippines.

The setting to reduce target size would depend on what programs your using i.e DVD Shrink, clone dvd, Nero recode etc.

Memorex...FOREVER!!!
:)
Quote: I'm with you venom, how the heck do you read those scans?
May I suggest that someone creates a guide and explains what all the different sectors and options are.
That would be GREATLY helpful!
