He smokes too. He's had his eye taken out, whiplash, heart surgery, brain tumor taken out. Sometimes the only way he can get up in the morning is after some of the green sticky plant. He's in chronic pain and it helps to smoke Marijuana. It is a wonder drug.
Do I need it? No, but I like it :P
Does he need it? I think so.
It's definitely a personal preference. I'll never razz anyone for their own preferences. And I don't expect it in return.

if thats the case then does that mean that you could buy weed from ur dad or vice versa and do you share a dealer?

I did it for a year or so then I asked my Dad if I could do it in the house, he said no for a few reasons,
1. My younger brother would be in the house and he's only 12.
2. I'm not yet 18 so he doesn't condone it.
3. If I get busted at home, so does he because technically he is giving me permission to consume it on his premises (though in Scotland there's a poor chance of that, seeing as possession of cannabis only warrants confiscation by the police, they are not allowed to arrest you)
He did say though that smoking it is one of those decisions you have to make yourself, I've researched it so much it's unbelievable and I know that it's perfectly safe as long as two golden rules as exercised : Moderation and self-control.

they should call this the non smokers thread lol, most posts are from non smokers, I know smoking sucks as far as your health, its a shame that lighting one up is so enjoyable especially after a good meal.
Do I want to quit, hell yeah, getting up in the morning and spitting out an abortion you know thats telling you something, Will have to give it a serious thought soon.
But what do we do after getting rid of a lunger, we light up another one.

Mea Culpa!! I actually cheated a couple of days ago and actually smoked a pack between noon and bedtime (but I use to smoke three). With me, its when things get really stressful. I quit and didn't smoke for over a year but one seriously bad day, I get in this, "Who gives a $hit mode" and that's what gets me. I knew things weren't going to get better any time soon so I went out and bought some nicotine gum because I know that another urge will hit me sooner or later.

No we do not.
My dad gets it from his sources and I get it from mine. We don't know eachothers sources and we keep it that way.
I don't buy from him... he gives me a little sometimes but I mostly get my own.

*sigh* Sometimes self-control escapes me and I will smoke till I'm doped to the gills. But I usually only ever get a little or just conserve it as it can become and expensive habit if not kept in check.

man let me tell you i am battling the addiction of marijuana i joined the marine corps so i have to quit but let me tell u every day is a battle of the cravings.... same with cigarettes i am trying to quit smoking but it is tough

Any one here smoke shisha or hookah as it is also called. Its very big here where i live in England. I used to smoke B&H gold but had to quit as i could genuinely see them having bad effects on my health, especially coughing up a whole of muck every morning. Quitting was the hardest thing ive done in my whole life. At the moment, i tend to smoke shisha, probably a session everyday or couple of days. I find that the smoke is much lighter and has less effecy on your health as the smoke is filtered through the water. Next step is to gradually cut down on the shisha as well so i am completely smoke free.

I smoke anything.. Not fussed about brands, the cheaper the better and if I can get illegal imported for 1/2 price that's good enough for me.
And NO.. I have no intention of giving up.. it's my choice and if non smokers don't like it then here is my finger.. I don't have a choice about breathing vehicle fumes so STFU with your whining and leave us happy smokers alone.

well said varnull, I 2 smoke and have to go out to a crappy old bike shed in work on regulated breaks to have a puff. i also have to sit in traffic to get too and from that shithole (but it pays the mortgage so hey).
worse -- when in the pub i have to go outside now (buggers), but it is such a social atmosphere, there cud be 12 feet of snow on the ground and we just don't give a shit.
moral of this drunkenish rant -- you can take your laws and shove them up your ass sideways. smokers will smoke, drinkers will drink, i thought we lived in a free country, but i was soooooo wrong

that is why i like living in the middle of nowhere.... despite not having broadband (which will be avalible within a year due to lawsuits)... we can still smoke in the bars... yes its technically illegal but no one around here really cares... including the law enforcement in town... lol gotta love a place where someone underage can walk up to the owner of a bar who knows they're underage and get served...

I have smoked maybe 2-3 times. It might be just because I am a kid, but I coughed soo much, and my clothes smelt terrible. We spend $5.00 for a cigarette! One measly little cigarette. My mom nearly caught me when I was in the car home, she then was suspicious, so searched my backpack, my browsing history, went through my room, everything were I could hide them, she searched. Not worth it...

i ain't gonna lie... i know i need to quit... pretty much everyone that smokes knows that they need to quit... it ain't easy, word of advice... don't start... and if your able to quit, NEVER pick up another cig again. not even for a drag...

They just put down a 3 meter bloody line around the employee entrance where I work! Smokin' rule went into effect March 31, here in BC, Canada! I ain't had a cigarette in about 8 years, but i still feel for the rest of ya. It's shite, I tell ya!

I quit 2 years ago after 17 years of smoking. My newborn daughter was the reason, but looking back I wish I'd of done it sooner.
I cannot judge or talk down to anyone else who does, I would be a hypocrite. There is a public smoking ban in my area, which is good overall but bad for freedom of choice. I should be able to open a business that caters to smokers, if you dont wanna go where you know there will be smoke, dont go. Freedom should be that simple, now it seems like freedom=thinly veiled fascism.

I wish I had never started. But, If I'm gonna smoke the government could bloody well leave me alone. We don't have a public smoking ban yet, but they're lobbying to get it outlawed in bars and restaurants here.
Freedom of choice is a dead concept. All these bimbos in town complaining about the smoke... ugh. If you don't like the smoke, don't go where there's smoke. Simple as that.
