i have that same problem as well but my games work tho. Maybe its just the program. Cuz it says my warriors game is like 400 mb which is way too small it should be 4 gigs. But the game still works tho.

Yea, I also have the same problem... Not sure if the games that are inflicted works or not...

Also, I installed GT4, and now it won't install any other games.. Perhaps I'll have to format the drive... or maybe it works by deleting GT4...? I'll try that first :)

Hallo! can somebody help me with "Dragonball Budokai Tenkeichi"?
I tried the "pal2ntsc with Y-Fix converter", but the game dosen't work with USBExtreme!
Someone had written that the game would work with this patch.

http://www.xafiers-home.com/ps2/comments.php?gameselect=DRAGON%20...

Does somebody knows a way to get the game working?

Also another thing you might want to consider about usbextreme...that it requires External USB HDD...and you probably go for USB2.0 but! beware since so many ppl got the problem with "Windows delay write failed" such as me :( and have to use USB1.1 instead...almost an hour for 2.5G game Argggggg!!!

There is a way to speed the process up of copying games to do so simply do the following;

Right Click the external hard drive and go to properties click the hardware tab, select it agian from there click propertis and then click on "Policies" Tab and select optimize for performance that should speed it up.

One other way which evreyone must know is simply connecting the hd in your computer (idecable) it takes just few mins that way.

Well hope that helps

My question is, can a downloaded PS2 image work on usb extreme(Once the images is mounted with a virtual drive sofware like alcohol or daemon tools)?
And in addition will save files for the game be save on the enclosure ?

It's true that you can increase the write buffer on your Ext HDD so it could install game faster....that if your USB2.0 would work perfectly with your Ext HDD (,ind doesn't..keep getting this Delay write failed message) still USB on th ePS2 is USB 1.0 so most of the animation would be jumpy and painful to watch

I also got problem with Dragon quest 8...randomly hang with black screen...music still there but that's it...even when I turn my HDD off the music still there :P already re-install the game twice...still there...other games work fine thou

You skillaz ...the only way i know how to save a game file to ur HDD is thru Action Replay MAX(the memcard manager). But u still need a memcard tho cuz u can transfer ur files from the mem card to the HDD back and forth so you never have to delete any files when u run out of memory on ur memcard.

Theres a program on Xaphiers site that allows you to install PS2 iso to USB extreme directly. It is way easier than downloading the image+burning.

And yea its true you can make the external HDD speed way faster just read the post by Ua123 and follow directions. I did that and it takes me like 5 mins to install a game which is better than the 1 hr it used to take me. Dragon quest 8 runs fine for me but sourta slow when i leave or enter a town. Try running the game both with or without the usbextreme disc in the PS2 to see which runs better. You know that the FF12 demo works with USB extreme aswell.

Yea this thread is hella long which is good cuz ppl all help each other out unlike all the PS3 and 360 threads where over sensitive nerds get all emotional and you can get banned for saying the word "sucka foo"

Hi,

i am new with USBExtreme.
I have a Samsung 160GB HDD in a Trekstor Case.

Now my problem:
The USB HDD is not recognized very often by USBExtreme.

Is there a description how to connect the HDD, i mean in which order you have to, plug in the HDD, start the PS2, reset the PS2. Are threre any experiences?

And sometimes a Game runs and sometimes not. Is this normal?

Ciao

try turning on the HDD after the usbextreme scren shows up. Sometimes i have to turn it on and off several times b4 the HDD is recognized. Dont know why maybe its cuz i have multiple partitions and the usbextreme reads the wrong one.

I kinda want one but i suck at modding/soldering. The only reason i got USB extreme is cuz you dont have to do any modification or open ur ps2 and solder.

By the way there is an asian rapper called JoeyBoy lol kinda weird...

I'm new to this thread. I am using USBextreme PAL version. I have a couple of questions here, hoping someone knows the answer.

1. I am using ul_install in command window to convert games (PAL) to the USB hard disk. So far, I have converted 2 games. Now I want to remove one of the two games. Is there an easy way to remove any game without corrupting the other games already on the Hard disk?

2. My brother just sent me a NTSC PS2 game and I tried to convert it but without success. The game is from Japan (Winning Eleven 6) and I don't know whether it is compatible or not. My question is: do I have to do extra step to make NTSC game convert and playable using PAL version of USBextreme.

Thanks in advance.

Anyone have any experiences with 2.5" HD's? I have a 60GB firelite USB drive and cannot get USBXTRM to recognize it at all. Tried both usb power and external power. Any tricks I'm missing?

I dont know about the PAL and NTSC compatibility... cant help u with that. But if you download the windows version of USB extreme instead of using the DOS version, you can delete games by just right clicking it and select delete. The game gets deleted with no problems in like 2 seconds. The download is at the official usb extreme website. Also try looking at xafiers site there might be a program that can help u solve ur problems.

Did u format ur HD in windows? Maybe ur HD isnt compatible with usbextreme u should check the compatibility list also on the usbextreme website. And i know for a fact that the HD wont work from the USB power it only works with a power plug addaptor. I thought that most external USB HD arent USB powered but i could be wrong.
