I keep getting this from FlashFXP
[R] Connecting to 192.168.1.5 -> IP=192.168.1.5 PORT=21
[R] Connected to 192.168.1.5
[R] Connection failed (Connection lost)
[R] Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #1
[R] Retry attempt Aborted
any idea on how 2 fix this?

Are you positive you have the IP address of your xbox correct? How are you checking/determining whether that is its IP address?

After i plugged one of my lan cords from my router 2 my xbox then another from my router 2 my pc i went back 2 my xbox and clicked on settings, network settings and connect. After the xbox went throught the whole detection process i clicked on IP ADDRESS in the network settings menu and it gave me the config (auto), the ip address (192,168.1.5), the subnet mask and the gateway.

Thx for your help guys but i think im going 2 give up on the whole softmodding thing for now. It's just becoming 2 much of a hassel. Thx again.

sub i know what your problem is! Ur getting the wrong Ip Adress
You have to go onto your modded dashboard go to system config then turn static ip off... restart your xbox then go back to system config and us that ip.

ok i got my action replay working, but i dnt have splainter cell or mechassault or 007.....but i did find thise file for halo 2 that sais if u put it on ur xbox then it is softmodded...i juss want to try it out,,but i cant find any downloadable soft modded games.......can any1 assist me on how to make softmodded games or where to download some???thnx

you can't. that halo 2 thing doesn't work. Either buy the game or borrow it. It's only $4-$10

ok now i have splinter cell but whenever i run "Evolution X"all it sais is launch dvd,MS Dashboard,utils,and some other useless stuff

wow..this is just retarded... I had both the A/R and regular splinter cell. But i thought they where useless... I do have xbox live like everyone of you guys in here maybe :/ I had Halo2 too. But i stoped plying it because of so many modders and my A/R i lost, With Splinter cell i traded in... Thats just peachy :/ Now that i know how to soft mod ill rebuy Halo2, find my A/R, and rebuy splinter cell. The only reason im even here is because i want to fight back against modders. I dont really want to become one :) Well this website has hlped my alot. :) ^-^

hi, i just read how to soft mod your xbox. Couple questions.
-I read you cannot go on xbox live with a modded xbox. Can you unmod it go still use xbox live, or not?
-I don't have a action replay. Can I use a usb drive to transfer the files? Or do I have to buy an action replay? I also don't have any of the 3 games needed, but I will probably buy a used copy to do this.
-Is there a chance this will screw my xbox up and is it pretty unlikely? I have modded my psp and took the chance with that, and now I am glad I did. I guess I am willing to try the softmod too if there is a small risk that it would screw the system up.
-Anything else I should know? This will work on any version of xbox? Thanks for the help guys.

Yes..u can go on live u wont get banned as long as u dont mod games just cold boot meaning put the game in the xbox turn it of then on then let the games start...
as for action replay its pretty cheap its about $16-$30
but here is tut on how to soft mod so u can see how easy it is

u forgot that modded xbox can do many great thing yes u can mod halo 2 but remeber not online,u can read data disc and movies and music picture but u need XBMC to get that into order..many more things

i did all the action replay thing with splinter cell and i did the backups and now im on the unleashx dash and i delete the linux installer so how do i put the linux installer back on. or how do i get back to M$ dash

I am having trouble finding an action replay. I tried walmart, target, eb games, best buy. where else should i look? no one carries it. they tell me they don't carry as much for the xbox, since the xbox 360 is out now. they use most of their space for that.
Maybe i will just buy a cheapo xbox controller, and mount a usb connector on it. Probably cheaper then buying a action replay anyway. Plus, I got a computer controller to use too... What do you guys think?
Good idea, or not?

ya, i didn't feel like buying online. i finally found 1 at gamestop. I couldn't believe no one sells xbox accessories/systems anymore. Its all xbox 360 now. guess our xbox's are obsolete! hopefully they keep making games for it.

i just got ar off of ebay so should have it soon, so i plan to mod my old not useful anymore old xbox to turn it into just a emulation machine. Just out of curiousity, after i soft mod it will i be able to just burn a cd/dvd with just roms and put it into my xbox and copy them to the xbox's hd?

Yes. You may not even need to go through that trouble depending on how well you utilize Google or various communities out there. BAED - Big A$$ Emulator Disc, is a disk that has several different ROMs and Emulators ready to go. You will have to search around to find it but once you do, download it, and burn it to disc...you will see the ease of it's use. From reading your question, it will save you a large amount of time and space on your xbox hdd.
