Hi all again, just a thought on my problem mentioned above, I beleive the problem is with my action replay memory card *sigh* this is the only memory card i have :( so the question i have is it possible to remove my xbox's hdd connect it to my pc and copy the files i require to the xbox's then refit it and try the softmod again ??

but if you do mod your xbox like that wont bungie just detect it and ban you from xbox live?

Not if you boot up original MS BIOS ;)
Anyway, ok, now I can't even run MS dashboard through EvoX! I choose MS dashboard from scroll down options on EvoX dashboard, it comes up loading screen for a few secs, then goes back to EvoX dashboard. Any ideas / suggestions please? :) Thanks in advance

and also if i do mod my xbox and dont use the mods on matchmaking and only custom games(on halo 2)can bungie still detect me

PPL PPL PPL ... you can get on xbox live SAFELY and you will NOT getr ban . as long as you fellow the simple rule of RETAIL... no back ups no modded files of ANY SORT ...etc etc.
basicly you power it on one way and it loads hacked dashboard ie evox or ux. and when you open it with its tray button then it loads the ms dash. and LMAFAO .... i konw ur a modding noob but hell if we could connect the xbox and mod it with the pc then everything be a peiace of cake :).... your mem card is currpting the files if you get black screen . sid 3 ? ???

@mik3h Try having a look at the evox.ini file and see where the path for ms dash is pointing. It's on there but depends on which mod you are running. The one on C:\ if it's a softmod is pointing at evox, it's the one in the dashboard folder on E:\ that you need to investigate.

no you cannot view on C ... the open tray should load the complete ms dash. IF you try to load the MS DASH via the HACKED dash ie evox or ux then YOU WILL BE BAN!!! guarnteed..... pretty much if the circle led is
red=mod active
green= mod deactivated = safe for xbox live
try reinstalling the softmod. also do you have ms dash 5960?

Ok, I checked the "evox.ini" file, and it links to - MSDashBoard = "C:\msdash.xbe"
And I've checked, and there isn't a file called "msdash.xbe" in C:\
And I'm an Xbox Live User, so I assume I have the latest version of the MS Dashboard. I don't want to try re-installing the MSDashboard, because I have an Xbox Live account, and re-installing the msdash would probably cause me to lose my live account if not all my saves, right?
Thsnks, any help is greatly appreciated.

PS. You know, Gus eject=retail, but only to the Xbox Live Management screen. You can't access the msdashboard the way it used to be after softmod, unless you jump to it through the EvoX dashboard, which I was able to do until now. Thanks.

but if you go to xbl using the evox and the circle led is red then you WILL get ban man . load your linux and try reinstall the dual boot=retail closed = ux and see how that turns out.
DESPITE THAT when you press open tray and it opens up account manangement its A GOOD THING.. because after its green EVERYTHING is pachted back to normal so you can put the game and go SAFELY on live.... regardless of it looking like ms dash or account management.

Lol, I don't want to access XBL through EvoX. I want to access my MS dash so I can access the Memory option so I can access my gamesaves and use my memory card

Well if your not bothered how you load the ms dash then have a look with unleash/avalaunch in the backup folder of the original C:\ drive and launch the dash from there, or edit the evox.ini to point at xboxdash.xbe on C:\. I don't know if this has any bearing on live tho..but you can always edit it back after you do whatever you need to.

THE C is shadow!!! this is to prevent any noobs not to break the mod. along with an eeprom patch so you cant load configmagic...
THIS IS FAR BY THE BEST AND ONLY SOFTMOD that will always be.
so your C is fake as well as E/eeprom
your E/backup is real but only for the ms dash. the real eeprom is hidden somwhere :D

I installed the dual boot that when I hit the eject button the Knaves softmod loads. As I am not a XBL user, this seemed the best way to go. I am extremely happy with it all except one thing.
When I load my Dash (I use Unleashx) and try to access my MS dashboard, and it won't let me load it. It is looking for a msdash.xbe file, and that file does not exist....

Exactly the problem I'm having. I was able to access it through EvoX but suddenly I can't anymore? So how am I going to access my memory card/game saves!?

i made my new updated version its going to be a diffrent layout ( my sid style :D) but you guys hold on ...
oh and if you dont use xbl then i recommend put it to single boot because open= game save = can break the mod ( it is not protected in linux mode) so put ux ( really recommend ) and single boot or for xbl

I dont think they need help by anone else except the ones that made this mod and the scripters.... which i belive i know more about this enitre softmod then you do ......

Mike.. if you go into the E:\ backup folder and try launching the dash from there it should allow you to access the saves you want to get at. Then just reboot and it should all be fine. Or that's what I managed to work out from gus's post.

Ok jan, I tried setting "evox.ini" to launch ms dash from - E:\backup\xboxdash.xbe but still no luck. Still shows the skin loading theme then goes back to the evox dash. Thanks anyway :)
