hey kealralvo,
can you create a brand new thread that has every single thing updated because i've tried all versions of your tutorial on my TA-082 2.71 psp but have not gotten to the blue screen within Devhook. I need you to post a new post guaranteeing that it is the most up to date because its hard to tell which ones are most recent.
And...i've only tried madden2k7.iso, and hasnt worked, just goes to black screen and shuts off...any suggestions?

many thanks to kealvalro for your detaild and easy installers.
bought my japanese ver ceramic white psp from lik sang and damm its a beauty. box code was k and its comfirmed 2.71 with a Ta-082 Motherboard. that didnt bother me since i knew HenC was the best chance of running iso etc without bricking the psp at all. make sure you wait till the screen turns gray (ALWAYS !!!) then run HenC
thanks again for all the informative post guys. goodluck to anyone running it the first time

Can someone explain something to me, on the first page it says...
"This will not brick your psp coz it does not write flash to your psp but the new chunglam devhook does but i am not using this for your psp."
But then we go on to use devhook chunglam, does it write to flsh or not?
By the way, the original easy installer without chunglam would not run killzone on my psp. But the Chunglam version certainly does so once again thanks for helping me to get something running on my PSP and thanks for the guide.
Also, bit of a weird question, but is their anything in these hacks that stop you upgrading in the future?

hi kealvalro, forgot to thank you. I got my and my bro psp works on iso games a few days ago.. I am here to thank you and to show my appreciation of your hardwork in volunteering helping all the psp users out there.
I believe your hardwork won't be waste. btw i am still puzzle about what is homebrew games. Can my TA-082 play homwbrew games? btw can set the dev setting of my TA-082 to 1.5? Cos i heard TA-082 cannot set to 1.5 rite.
Thanks for your help..

I think you have to do a lil bit of tweaking.. I also xperience the same problem b4...
when i use these settings:
UMD SELECT : XMB-BOOT[usus-00001].cso
firmware : 2.71 , not the nandflash
clock : 222/111
thumbnail mode : enable
Auto DISC ID : enable
MORE OPTIONS>>>>UMD SFO VERSION : 2.xx to 2.00
REMOTE CTRL : remote controller
preload address : 0x98200000
autorun : disable
screenshots : disabled
ADD-ON MENU>>>>>XMB SCREENSHOT : enable
HEN(2.71 only) : enable
press on start in the devhook menu.
SO I CHANGE to;
UMD SELECT : XMB-BOOT[usus-00001].cso
firmware : 2.71
clock : 222/111
thumbnail mode : enable
Auto DISC ID : enable
MORE OPTIONS>>>>UMD SFO VERSION : no change
REMOTE CTRL : remote controller
preload address : 0x89200000
autorun : disable
screenshots : disabled
ADD-ON MENU>>>>>XMB SCREENSHOT : enable
HEN(2.71 only) : disable
press on start in the devhook menu.
hope it'll work...

Do you guys know if using this method, you could emulate 2.71 SE-B(the new custom frimware)? If so, how would I get the files for it. I have SE-B running on my PSP, but my buddy has a ta-082, so I used this method (THANKS, BY THE WAY!!!). Anyway, is there any way to use my psp to get the proper files for the 2.71 SE-B firmware and emulate them with this version of devhook? Thanks.

Yea this most likely is because Henc has not loaded properly. When I try to load Henc one of 4 things happen,
either the screen does not a fat lot and locks up before it open.
or it shows some sort of photo screen like it is just about to open but locks up.
or it goes blue for about 30 seconds goes black and resets the PSP.
or it goes blue for 4 or 5 seconds, goes black and resets the PSP.
Your looking for the last one of these. Anything else and it just has not worked. Just do a good reset by holding the power button up when you turn off the power before trying to run henc. Before you turn the PSP back on open the disc tray and leave it open.
Then with it open, turn it on, slowly move through the icons until you get to Henc, then try to view it. If it works (blue 4 or 5 seconds, black and reset) then go into devhook, if not then try again.
Once henc and devhook is running you can do soft resets ( a quick flick up of the power switch) and using the home button to drop out of games ect just as you could before but henc and devhook continue to run. You only need to run henc and devhook again if for some reason you do a full reset.
It sounds a pain but it takes about 1 min or so and I find I only need to do it once a week (when the kids have mucked something up).

So is there anyway to play games that require a 2.8x update on our ta-082s now that everything is working?

@ CursedGuy
Wth do you mean? Like play 2.8x games? Ya, if you update because devhook doesnt have 2.8x emulation for now.

Thanks for the quick response
Yup I mean play games that are 2.8x, so I can update the Devhook firmware 2.71 without messing up my PSPs firmware 2.71?

a bit of clarity I think.
unless things have changed the last day or so. If you wish to use devhook and homebrew ect then, at the moment, 2.8x is out of bounds.
basically, if you do upgrade to it, then your stuck, for the time being. However in the future you may well see a 2.8x firmware emulator appear in a devhook for 2.71
You may also see something like the 2.71 homebrew emulator.
Truth is, I have no crystal ball, but as far as I know, it is mostly hope. But, as the qj website pointed out when it was found 2.82 is comming out "You will not be able to use any homebrew on 2.82".

OK... have u tried COMPLETE SHUTDOWN?
After shutting down... run HENC then the screen will turn blue (if it HANG) try shutting down again... turn on -> re-run HENC (after a complete shutdown, sure HENC will start)
after running HENC, PSP will restart. go to DEVHOOK Launcher/VSHEX Mod.
if this doesn't help... maybe I'll send u a video how to do it..
