I have had no problems backing up games using the over network method. I have a question about copying already copied games!
Do you have to do them the same way as originals, or is there an easier way?

You don't need to use a special dvd drive or rawdump/friidump to backup a copy. You can use a program like Nero and just do Disc copy.

Brilliant, thanks! The reason I asked, is they don't show as recognised in my Computer, but I have just started Nero, and seems to be copying ok :)

Why would we pay for this when this forum is all about doing it on our own!?

We downloaded rawdump 2.0 to extract files from our wii games and then img burn to burn the game. Now we can't use rawdump because it was only a 30 day program. Where is the best place to buy a license for rawdump or does anyone know if there is freeware?

That's where I got it from in the first place. I uninstalled it then reinstalled it and it still doesn't work. It comes up as free user and premium user. When I click free user it doesn't let me download it. I'm not sure if anyone else has this problem. I was told I have to buy a license for $30.

Hi,
Please can anyone help?
I have problems getting my "backed-up" games for my Wii to work.
I have tried games that I have that is from China and they all work very goodon on my Wii. However when I try to burn games it does not work.
I use
1. Wiikey modechip
2. imgBurn (also tested Nero)
3. TDK DVD+R 4.7GB 1-8x
4. E: HP DVD writer dvd400i
5. Burn in low speed 2,4x
6. Running windows XP home edit.
The only error i can find using imgBurn is that I get the a warning that my D: drive is FAT32 and can not do files > than 4gb.
But I am not using the D:drive at all (I guess?)..I have done DVD movies bigger than 4GB and they work..
Howerver when trying to convert my D drive to NTFS it say that I am using a wrong volume name..(but I guees this is not the root cause anyway? Or?).
Is the only way forward to buy other discs? or what is wrong..
Please help?

If your File system on Windows XP is FAT32, then imgburn won't work as
The FAT32 filesystem does not allow any file to be bigger than 4GB.
What is your D: drive.
Do you have a C:/ drive as your main operating system? Is it NTFS

Thanks for the reply.
My C drive is the main operating system and it is NFTS and the D drive is partitioning of the main drive and hold the systemrecovery data (total size 5GB currently only 0,4 GB free).

Ok try this then. Go to TOOLS on the top of Imgburn, click settings.
Then in General TAB, under DISPLAY WARNINGS, unclick "maximum file size"
See if that helps.

I use a program called DVD-Cloner to backup my DVDs - it makes the process really simple and very quick. Generally I use the 1:1 copy method. Would this work for Wii games?
It seems like the method in the original post takes a good bit of time...
Also, anyone try backing up games with the standard DVD-RW drive in a Dell D830?

The method in the first post may seem long, but it is the only way.
Other than over the network as described here.

Lately every time when I have been burning with Image Burn I receive multiple miscompare errors throughout the verify process. Does anyone know the reason for this? it is not the burner as i have tried 3 different burners

Did you try the burned disc anyway to see if it works ok.
I personally never use the verify disc. I just burn it and if it plays, its all good.
I have never had a problem yet with any of my burns, whether it be for the wii or my PS2.

I got some Wii games from China, but it does not work in my Wii in USA. Can I do anything to fix that? I bought wii console in April 2008. and I bought games from China in Sept 2008. I don't know what kind of chip I have in my Wii. If someone can tell me how, I can find out what kind of chip in the wii i have. is there a irc channel / chat room for live discussion on wii/game cube/DS games and consoles? Thanks in advance.

Ok, I'm very, very, veeeeeeeeeee*inhale*eeeery new to the idea of copying games, but I just wanted to make sure the info in the first post is still viable. Didn't want to read through 100 pages just to find that it's no longer a feasible way to copy a game.
Thanks!

I had actually just posted above about this.

There is the method in the first post, and a method over the network.
Doing a forum search can also help you find more info on copying wii games.
Or check this site for any new info.
Check Dumping and burning wii discs.

help, i'm trying to play a backup of "Bleach Versus Crusade"
i've played backups for USA games before but this is my first JAP game
it's not detected on my Wii, and last time I checked, since Gecko OS acts as a freeloader, i shouldn't have to use anyregion changer to change my wii into a japanese wii.
i'm using img burn and verbatim dvd+rs [usually i use hp dvd+rs, so the disc "could" be the problem, i'm not sure]
my book setting on imgburn is DVD_rom.
thanks! help me soon!
