Usually a sign of a file compliance error.

VobBlanker or FixVTS (click these links for download) will correct most video files to make them compliant for recording. FixVTS is probably the easiest for this simple task.

Nero sometimes gives an error warning and asks if you want to continue and do the burn. Did this happen? In most cases the output plays correctly. I've done a bunch of burns with the compliance error and they have always played.
well ive used FixVTS still dones not work on the film?

Run a read scan to make sure your source isn't the problem. Always use the latest versions of the software. Try saving the Shrink output to the hard drive as an ISO and then use ImgBurn to burn the ISO. You're having problems with software that others haven't.

Another option is to use RipIt4Me. You can pick up a copy at Softpedia.com. You have to have the last versions of DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink loaded before installation. Use RI4M in the 1-Click mode and don't use the ISO for rip mode selection. Allow RI4M to do complete rip and clean up. Don't skip any steps. I didn't have a problem with this release and not many have.

You need to stop talking about renting DVDs and copying them. That's piracy and will get you dismissed from here. Go acquire the disc again and re rip it. AnyDVD is paid program for removing DRMs 21 day free trial here: slysoft.com

Congrats, it would have probably burned manually with Nero or ImgBurn as well. The flaw was in your decryption and cleanup. Whatever... it was as we thought, a problem with your use of the software. CloneDVD2 is retail. To date RI4M is doing the job, though it lost support, and it's free. Don't listen to me though, buy all the retail apps you can afford. After all, they do the job so much better. ;)

I would post the link for teh tools you need but I won't help someone one open admits that he is pirating DVD's from a rental company in the UK.
cheers Loco, i'd have sorted this if i'd have got around to reading the reply.

In future i don't want to see anyone helping people who rent & burn

Sounds good. Now if we could only weed out the liars who say they purchased the DVDs or simply say nothing about ownership?

That would be nice, but if someone comes right out and admits to wrong doing that is a whole different ball game.

we obviously can't know if people are fibbing about where they got movies from, but when people are so daft to post about renting or whatever (and the above example from our friend mike1986 above is one of the worst cases i've seen - by far), they deserve to be given a pair of handcuffs, and to not get £200 when they 'pass Go'. In this case mike1986 should just forget the cuffs and go straight to the local police station where it's safe

Creaky
I see the seriousness. Your humor just gave me one of the best laughs of the day though. Of course you're right, blatant rules infraction can't be overlooked. That type posting ends up making it more difficult for the site to exist. We've seen sites closed for turning a blind eye to promoting piracy. I'll keep a closer reign on who I help, if piracy is indicated at all.
