Should really charge it longer. Anyway, its probably a blind installation?

I've done it! My PSP is now a M33. The problem now is the ISOs. I formatted memory stick when i finished using it for the pandora battery. Now i store my ISOs in the folder 'ISO' but it doesn't show up on the XMB.
I am on 3.71 M33-4.

Lekner
I had the same problem but i messed around with it. So you might of misunderstood Larry or have a fake Memory stick.
1. During the memory stick process you must wait when the format is processing.
2. Insert the memory stick before the battery
3. You MUST have a pro duo memory stick

I recommend upgrading to 3.80m33-5. its pretty stable and has all the patches and stuff. Just use the MUX 2.0 thing.

yes you need a custom firmware psp to CREATE the battery, however you can buy the datel tool battery (its a Pandora's battery!) and then using the magic stick you created (magic stick can be created without a custom firmware psp) you can downgrade or go starit to 3.71m33 your choice!

It amazes me how many questions are asked over and over again in this thread.

If new members to the PSP scene would just read the guide and past post in this thread pretty much 99% of all questions have already been answered.

For those having issues with the menu coming up (Which has been covered in past post)...

If after Hardmodding the Battery or buying a Tool Battery the green light comes on when you insert the Battery then the tool battery is working properly.

Most of the time no menu means you have not created the Magic Memory Stick properly. Re-install the files and try using a different memory stick and or PC.

Hello everyone, Noob here. (Though I've learned lots the past few days!) Ok, when doing the firmware upgrade from ofw to the cfw do you need to upgrade firmware in steps? Like do I go from 3.80 to 3.80 m33 then to m33-2 then to m33-3 etc etc? Or can I go right on up to 33-4 right away? If this has been answered in an earlier post, then I'm sorry to be repetitive. Thank ya'll very much in advance.

Custom firmware patches are cumulative, as in, if you have X.XX M33 you can skip X.XX M33-2 + 3 and go straight to X.XX M33-4 or whatever the highest is, straight away.

"You can't handle the truth!"

What I'm working with(All Genuine and confirmed working):
Slim PSP OFW 3.90
1,2 and 4 Gig Official Pro Stick Duos
PC with Windows XP
Datel tool Battery(Purchased based on this forum and thread - DOH!)
Over 8 hours of reading and troubleshooting based on this thread and guide.

My Issue:
Much like many posts littered throughout this thread(Which were answered with the priceless "Read the guide again from top to bottom and figure it out"). the Loader doesn't operate correctly. Sorry but the keystone to your guide is a "Hit-or-Miss" unstable and inconsistant program at best! On page 7 user: delateur confirmed this and was nice enough to provide a fix that unfortunately doesn't work for me as well. Simply put, the Easy Installer DOES NOT "finish the instillation of files to the Magic memory Stick". I've Modded the Xbox, PS2, NDS and WII so i'm not new to this.

My Question:
In the unbelievable event that somebody was actually capable of thoroughly reading and following your guide and this thread and STILL had found the problem was the Loader what could be done?
Please only respond with FACTS and Actual Experience! This forum is plagued with "Thanks for the great tutorial I didn't actually try!" comments.

Numerous times through the thread it is stated to try a different Memory Stick or use a Different PC if you have issues with the instillation of the Magic Memory Stick.

The guide can't magically make this work for you if you do not take advice and try using a different Memory Stick and or PC. The easy installer works perfectly fine if you have a compatible Memory Stick and PC. The easy installer and guide has no control over that at all.

There has been over 5000 downloads already of the files that where just updated so that doesn't include the download stats from past older files I had used in this guide. There are only a few that have had issues. Those that have have solved the issue solved it by using a different Memory Stick or PC.

I made this guide for free and the forum is free. So if you have a problem with it then go find another guide. I could care less what you think.

This question has been answered as well, but again, for the record:

When followed in its entirety, this guide will make ANY official firmware PSP into a custom firmware PSP. It doesn't matter at all what you're using (fat or slim, or what version firmware you're using) because the key is a properly set up memstick and a working Pandora battery. This guide should make those things achievable for anyone.

Oh, and as for the person who was having a tough time making his memstick work: Best thing to do would be to find another PC with a card reader and set it up that way, if you've tried everything on your own PC (but I still think there's no reason the method I described on p.7 wouldn't work...).

Sorry to ask if this has already been asked. But I haven't done this before and the tutorial is great. the only one that I can actually understand (Yay for pictures :D) But if I upgrade the cfw to 3.80 will I be able to play psx iso's and psp iso's straight from the memory stick without some kind of emulator or something?

Yes, the latest custom firmwares can do almost everything without the need for special software.
